Platform Layer - This is the layer where your application runs. This layer sits on top of the infrastructure layer. The examples are WebSphere App Server, Tomact Web/ App Server. Think it as Kitchen in your home by using which you will cook your food that is your application.
Infrastructure Layer - This is the layer on top of which the platform layer runs. The examples are Operating Systems, Network, Subnet etc. Think it as a foundation for your home on top of which you will different rooms including Kitchen.
