    Colonel Grant offered the most transparent, unvarnished, boots-on-the-ground observations, analysis, and critique of the UA administration I've ever heard. I hope Ukraine takes action. Thank you for presenting this... Please bring him back often, and push to the ear of your politicians 🙏🏽
    Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦 ♥️ 🇺🇸

    It is depressing to hear that reform in the Ukrainian command structure is so slow. When the population and small supporters around the world are working so hard to innovate and fundraise for cars and drones and any kit that is genuinely useful. In terms of big supply what the army needs more than big toys is an endless supply of artillery shells and the barrels to keep firing them. This is actually doable and would stabilise at least the battlefield lines and make the attritional exchange more about artillery than about infantry.

    In summary: "Generals always fight the last war" and "Logistics win wars'. In the United States we have members of congress who sit on committees that regulate matters of technology who literally do not understand what an 'app' is. It makes sense that a modern military should have people in positions of authority who have an operational understanding of the most up to date technology. How else will they be able to know how to use it effectively.

    If I understand correctly, the Ukranian military needs to get the dead weight out of the command structure and look at which people are effective, know how to listen, then organize the brigades with drone teams embedded.
    The government needs to put out calls for things like jammers, better equipment for the soldiers.
    It IS doable.

    • @jerseyshoredroneservices225
      @jerseyshoredroneservices225 11 часов назад +3

      By cutting out the dead weight I think you mean not only the poorly motivated or incapable people but especially the people who insist on doing things the soviet way.
      Those people who refuse to create a system of written orders and all the rest of it that the guest explained.
      Sounds like the biggest problem with the Ukrainian military is the management style. Not tactics or strategy but management/ culture. This is what doomed the formation of the new 155th brigade.
      It sounds like the president needs to fire anyone in senior leadership who is not enthusiastic about changing the culture.

    WW1 and WW2 the allied soldiers often lied about their age (when they were only 15-16) because these young men saw their contribution/sacrifice for their country as their duty.

      Sometimes transparency is the only thing that will force the changes that need to happen. Why do most police departments now have body cameras? It's not because they wanted them it's because the residents demanded that the politicians/lawmakers force transparency on the cops.

    I'm enjoying this discussion and I like Yulia however she should stop interrupting the guest. At times it's like she's debating him rather than interviewing him for his outlook on the situation.
    If she wants to challenge him on some things she could wait until he's finished speaking, then present her counterpoint and give him a chance to respond.
    When the host is talking more than the guest, something has going wrong.

    Men att rekrytera yngre för att ge dem en längre och proper utbildning för att en dag ta över och styrka försvaret inför framtiden måste dock
    Vara bättre än att lita till politiker från andra världsdelar och hoppas på deras stöd

    • @jerseyshoredroneservices225
      @jerseyshoredroneservices225 11 часов назад +1

      I completely agree. However, at this time the recruits are not being trained properly.
      The guest literally said that he disagrees with recruiting younger men "at this time" because of the problems in senior leadership.
      If the leadership were fixed then it would be wise to recruit more, younger people.

      They explicitly differentiated between good people doing a bad job. In many positions they need to change the people. Have you ever heard the expression "if you can't change the people, you need to change the people".
      This means that if the people can't or won't learn to do things differently, you need to remove them and get new ones.

    20:40 "invisibility cloak," a lightweight overcoat able to hide soldiers from Russian thermal imagery. The "cloak" blocks heat radiation, rendering Ukrainian snipers and special forces teams invisible to thermal imagery scopes and cameras, including drones, when working at night.
    This isn't the first "invisibility cloak” to be developed. Canadian company Hyperstealth Biotechnology produced a similar design in 2019. But instead of blocking heat radiation, the Canadian design bends, or refracts, light.
    The technology was developed under the Brave1 defense initiative. Fedorov called for more submissions to the platform to bolster Ukraine’s battlefield capabilities and enhance its military technology sector.

    It's easy to talk about change, but when it comes to actually doing it; We have replaced everyone, what now? Time to do what you have been talking about? How?
    If you want change, you need to bring in smart, capable people, and give them a chance together with the old guard.
    Transition as results are shown. Adopt, and change. It's not just... let's replace this person with this person. Change has to be done gradually, and smart by competent people. What I'm proposing is generally dual positions that have to work together to a common goal or be replaced.

      It seems that senior level officials in the military don't want to be trained in the NATO way of managing a war. They seem want their old culture of covering for their own asses.

    • @jerseyshoredroneservices225
      @jerseyshoredroneservices225 11 часов назад +2

      I think they're getting lots of advice on tactics and strategy in addition to lots of intelligence information.
      However it seems that senior leadership doesn't want advice on management style. They seem to want to continue doing things the old way. It's their culture to cover for their own asses. They probably understand that transparency and accountability would be good for the military but bad for them so they resist.
      It is the president's responsibility to force this change that needs to be made.

    Isn't Constitutional change needed to hold elections during wartime in Ukraine?
    Say that: Ukrainian people rally; a free-and-fair election can be held; and that viable candidates step up, Zelenskyy could then position himself to be an unofficial statesman and be abroad raising support.
    The “I need weapons not a ride” line will go down in history as possibly the most epic statement from this century.
    Zaluzhnyi sort of like the second U.S. President John Adams, being made an ambassador for both domestic and foreign political reasons; though this is not a perfect comparison, it is interesting to compare and contrast these two figures.

    Who are the snakes poised to make money off of currency exchanges or their investments when Russian sanctions are lifted?
    Say Putin and cronies meet an end.
    What is the road-map to incorporate Russia back into the World Order?
    Yakuza were getting hot material for Iran.
    Maybe lost items could be returned with a bang to a major city as a gift to Putin.
    The world has shown a fear that can, at worst, paralyze; but; also could heighten the senses.
    If Xi and Putin are to be the architects of the future then let it burn.

  • @KAS-pip
    @KAS-pip 10 часов назад

    With all due respect, did Ukraine HAVE 4 years to prepare each soldier, in peace and not under fire? I do not dispute that there are problems, but comparing it to 4 year training for the Falklands is a bit of a stretch. 3 years after being invaded by a force 10 times larger and better armed shows Ukraine did something right. Of course it can be improved but I would like to see some other country do better on their land in a full scale invasion. Easy being an arm chair warrior creating a perfect world in your head. Improvements are needed and Ukrainians are demanding it, changes are being made. I would sooner take the advice of successful Ukrainian commanders than an old outsider coming from a totally different background and a totally different age of combat. AND would have preferred to have heard from them. Not much substance here sorry.

    US executed coup in Ukraine and appointed Volodimir Zelenski as their representative. So Ukraine is in essence US leadb state. This unneccesary war bring Uktaine near to extinction. Who should fight this proxy US war against Russia, after Ukraine soldiers have been killed? Nobody, especially if we take into account that US could not dealt with nobody, even Afghanistan, Siria, Palestina, Libya, Panama, Iraq, Georgia... only solution for Ukraine is peace agreement and ce-existance with Russia.
