I'm currently in my final year of engineering, pursuing Electrical Engineering from NIT. I'm not interested in software sector jobs, that's why I'm not applying (and not prepared) for them. I'm a little confused about my career because core companies coming for placements are fewer in number, and most of them shortlist students randomly (sometimes based on CGPA, resume, or unknown factors). My CGPA is 7.54 till now; I know it's average, but my batchmates have a higher average CGPA because most of them cheat (using mobiles, chits, etc.) during exams, but I don't. I attempted GATE 2024 but only managed to pass; this year, I'll attempt GATE 2025 again, but I'm aware that I haven't studied honestly. Now, what should be my next step to become self-dependent before completing my graduation? What are the other ways to get core jobs? Where can we apply for core jobs, as most of them require experience?
