Everything I love about a Jim Holden video - great eye for the landscape, lovely wildlife closeups and beautiful drone shots, all in the Lakes. A real joy, thank you Jim.
Of all the channels , when it comes to getting out there and portraying the beauty of what we have around us , no one does it better than you Jim . Yours is a style that always brings a smile to my face and a good feeling inside . Another wonderful video . Sincerely , thank you .
Really enjoyed that Jim. Earlier this year I had a hike up a couple of fells around Buttermere and a hike along Ennerdale. Not as fit as you but did my best.
Great to see you back. A great walk in a beautiful location. Really jealous of the red squirrel. I havnt seen one in years, and not from the lack of trying. Thanks for sharing. Steve.
A stunning location Steve, I've only visited once before just for the mountains so was struck by just how beautiful and peaceful the whole area is and yes the wild life, never expected to see so many Red Squirrel. Two others closer to the head but they where on the move and too quick for the camera. The disturbing thing for me though was once the camera was packed away and only a mile or so left I saw a big old Grey, so they are up there now living along side the Red's, apparently they are getting common around the Eastern Lakes. Thanks for watching my friend.
Great to see this drop this morning Jim, brought back a few memories, I love it around Haweswater, I head up every year, last week of July for the Lakeland trail race, you'd of had 1300 runners following you along that path if you'd timed your visit wrong! I too had a week of rain and that was the end of July, true Lakes weather. Looking forward to whatever is next Jim, take care and good to see you.
True Lakes weather for sure Jon. I had five weeks in all only managed two wild camps. I had a couple of fails as well, an amazing time up there though, but incredibly unlucky with the weather. I was there all August into September and just as I got back in time for work a mini heat wave, love it. Thanks as always my friend, take care.
Wow what a great way to wake too "into the wild" with Jim Holden brilliant. Good to see the lake again walked along it doing parts of the coast to coast, what i remember of it was it went on forever lol. What a rare thing too see them Red squirrels . ATB Mark.
Hiya Mark, I met many doing the CTC from all walks as well. They were all heading for Shap, day four I think. I'd love to have a crack at it, I read Wainwrights book many years back, it's on the list. The wild life took me a bit by surprise, didn't expect it. I did see other Red Squirrels as well but they were too quick for the camera. A lovely part of the world and I'm looking forward to getting back. Thanks Mark.
I often find the modern world very sinister and feel very angry toward those responsible.. Your videos instantly put me at peace and serve as a reminder that the world is actually full of beauty. The narcissistic political classes can never change that and they are truely insignificant. Inner peace is within us all and it just depends upon us getting out in nature. I've never once seen a red squirrel BTW. I need to get out in the lakes much more. Thanks again for sharing Jim.
Thank you Andy and I couldn't agree more. It seems to me that this modern world is going in a direction that makes me uneasy, so decided I'm not going, and want nothing to do with it. I'll pay my tax and visit the supermarket and smile at whoever looks my way but that's it. Dropping out was. and still is the best single action I've done. We do not need to comply with this silly stuff anymore, the establishment has had it's day, just a matter of time before we see real change. Until then, Nature all the way brother. Take care my friend.
@@JimHolden you are 100% correct. We can only be controlled if we allow ourselves to submit to that control. Like you I want absolutely nothing to do with any of it. I'll resist with every fibre of my being as we owe it to the younger generations (our kids and grandkids) to do so. I will always sleep soundly at night which is more than our self serving political classes can do. Nice to see people out there are getting it. Thanks again for such inspiring and positive content. RUclips makes up 99% of my viewing as I simply won't pay my license fee to watch thr mainstream propaganda. All the best Jim.
I had a good look at the map and there is a couple more smaller ones, I had a mind to find them including Cockpit but not to worry, I'll be back at some point and explore these fells further, I love how quiet it is round there. Many thanks and take care.
Great to have you back Jim. I walked around there last weekend and saw a couple of red squirrels in the Rigg outcrop of trees. It’s a gorgeous part of the Lakes and pretty quiet. Take care my friend.
I was there through the week and just nobody there, didn't expect it but it was special to have the whole area to myself, well along with the Deer Ducks and Geese. Thanks for watching Jon, really appreciate it my friend.
Shame about the weather, Jim, but just another reason to come back when you can. If these are your local fells, I hope you have many opportunities to explore every nook and cranny of them. Take care.
My Daughter and her family moved up there from the south earlier this year so as good as my local fells. Just loading my van for another trip up there so yes I'll be out whatever the weather over the next couple of weeks. Love this part of the Lakes, loads of History and it's really quiet round there. Thanks Dan.
Thank you my friend, I have another Lakeland vid to upload, should be next week and then I'm out again so I'm hoping to upload more often moving forward, thanks again.
Good to see you out mate .... always uplifting and extremely well presented. Looking forward to plenty more adventures. Just back to Newquay from the NC500 .... immense. ATB.@@JimHolden
Your looking fit and strong Jim 💪. Have you been doing training? That looked a great adventure and looked like you enjoyed the solitude of them valleys and hills. At least the midges kept you company haha. Ive got a new lighter weight osprey 65L. Gear already for a few peak district camps soon. Take care Jim. Looking good 👍
Thanks Stan, no not training as such but I have done a load of walking and keeping an eye on the crisps and biscuits. Loved this walk mate as I said in the description, I was sitting it out waiting for the rain to stop all week so was well up for it, but once at the head of the lake there was no peace like it. I had a fantastic evening, until it rained but even then it was nice and cosy unlike the morning with the midges but hey ho time to move on. Osprey make a fantastic pack, love both of mine but the 85L one doesn't get much use now. Thanks again my friend, take care out there.
Hi Jim, fab to see another film of yours again, always love the soundtrack too... I managed to follow in your footsteps and climb Carnedd Llywelyn and Glyder Fawr in the summer, which are probaby the most interesting mountains I've ever climbed, so thanks for your inspiration... Maybe you and your viewers may want to have a listen to a song you used in one of your films again, it's Summer Lullaby by Will Cookson which is a great song really, with a painting of our late Sycamore Gap tree as a backdrop, I see you like trees too so... Cheers, Zane ruclips.net/video/-iqwVyiTNs0/видео.html
I love trees Zane and was sickened to see that someone has chopped the beautiful Sycamore down changing that landscape forever. Fantastic painting though, accompanied by the very talented Will Cookson, just popped over for a listen, and sub, thanks for the heads up. The mountains of Wales are so unique and rugged, like walking on the moon up there. I'm planning a trip in the new year, love it round there. Thanks as always my friend.
Hi again Jim, yeah cutting that tree down was a sick thing to do, I think most people agree. I had watched your videos about trees in the New Forest not long before this happened, so it made me think of those old oak trees there that need protecting too, would love to go and see them, maybe I'll take a trip down to the New Forest to see them soon, as I've never been there. Perhaps there is someting magical about them who knows, but I think they're cetainly special... Ok Jim thanks again for the inspiration to go and see these places, that otherwise I might not have known about really, I think other people feel similar in that your films have made a difference to them, and that's something in itself even if they never actually follow your footsteps and go there... I'm sure everyone on your channel appreciates your time and effort you put in to your films so other people can benefit from them... Thanks for the sub and Cheers again mate, Zane 😊
Wanted to add Jim, re the painting of Sycamore Gap I put up and your appreciation of it but it's not actually a real painting but a digital one using some AI software, which is very good for art though really and you do have to use the right words as promts to create any image, so in a way it is a creative painting form, albeit a digital one, and there are my thoughts there so I take some credit, perhaps using AI software will inspire me to take up some real landscape painting one day though... Cheers mate
I've so missed your Lakeland videos, great to see you back home. What a stunningly beautiful area.
Thankyou David.

Need to remember to watch the rest of this later at home. Wales at present. Looking like a super walk.
Thanks Jim - wonderful as always
Thanks for watching Jamie, appreciate it my friend.
Lovely spot
Really enjoyed that Jim. Earlier this year I had a hike up a couple of fells around Buttermere and a hike along Ennerdale. Not as fit as you but did my best.

Morning Jim.. great video the views are incredible and love the wildlife thank you as always for sharing..take Jim.. looking forward to the next 👍
Hiya Steve, yes the wild life, never considered seeing anything but the birds, so a massive bonus for this walk. Thanks for watching my friend.
