- Very rare footage of Ron Tabak and Prism performing live at Mosport Park in Bowmanville, Ontario on August 26, 1978.
Most of the legwork on this was done by Steve Lichti who married the original board tape audio to a second generation VHS copy of the video. I did the upscale and tried to pull some more detail out of the original recording. However, the limitations of the source video is obvious.
Hope you enjoy!
prism broke every chart and was on top of the charts for many months ,,never too be repeated by any other band in history !!!!
Nice restore. Will always miss Ron Tabak. So many vids like this need saving.....
Tough to source them, sadly. This one was a second or third generation VHS dub.
Born in Vancouver, drove a Limo , met a lot of them , everyone played the local circuit and best days of my life, cheers 😊
Hey Hii sir can you help me please , I need your company name I wanna meet you. Kindly send me a message
Coolest fucking tambourine player hands down...
Saw them “back in the day” in 1977 at the Whiskey in Los Angeles. They were phenomenal and should of made it big. “Open Soul Surgery” was another one of their great songs. It was great to be able to partake in the Southern California music scene back in the 1970’s!
Saw them in Red Deer 1980 and times after love them
Grew up listening to them . They are grossly underated. Their debut is one of the great debut albums of all time. Ron Tabac voice was unigue. Sadly missed getting to see thrm live.
wers this classic been hiding FFS? This is a Classic!
The footage has been around for a while but it's generally in horrific condition. I worked on this which was an upload of a a third generation VHS dub. I was able to get a hold of a remastered board tape for the audio.
@@CrosscutFilmsSask well done bro ya done well! At least now the quality wont degrade any further being in digital.
Thanks fo the upload. I hadn't scene this performance before. Such a tragic end for Ron. I was literally just a kid when this song was released and it still is every bit as great today.
Seen them in the old corral in Calgary when I was 16. Awesome concert.
That was the same festival (?) that Kansas performed at. Must have been a great event! Thanks for this!
Armageddon was one of the first albums I ever bought. They I went digging back into their past catalogue....wonderful stuff
Great lyrics, awesome tune!
Great song from a great album!
Should have been bigger. Don’t quite know the reason why the wheels fell off, but they certainly were a great band.
Simply AWESOME!!!
Glad you like it!
Saw them in '80 at the Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton Rock Circus... Was Awesome!
Reminds me of The Who a bit, the song structure and the guitar, very Who like. Yeah I like it!!!
RIP Ron.
Awesome!!! Nice restore!!!
MC Hamilton 1977 14 yrs old and well really cooool tunes
Tremendous. I'm a spaceship superstar. Got a solar-powered laser beam guitar. I think this performance was from the festival Canada Jam. Kansas also played I recall.
May band!
Me hiciste el día. Al fin encontré el video de este tema de Prisma. Como dije en la publicación de Chilliwack mi eterno agradecimiento. Saludos desde 🇪🇨 ❤
I remember playing this for my son wayyyyyy back. he yelled, 'OMG...he's got a solar powered laser beam guitar!'
Canada's finest
Sad passing of Gary Wanstall aka Rocket Norton on April 5th 2024 at 73 after a 2 year battle with cancer.
Caute them in the Windsor Hotel in Red Deer Alberta in 80 or 81. Awesome again in Sylvan lake Alberta in 96 with new singer.....they Rocked!
Only TWO CANADIAN BANDS, at Canada Jam. No April Wine? Rush? Burton Cummings? Chilliwack? BTO? Harlequin? Max Webster? Be it the politics of attracting Yankee acts, when Canadian acts were just as good. By watching Ron in this video, he must have been a freak with the groupies and fun. lol. Rest in peace bro, you died a 1980s death of a true space ship superstar
A face enhancement option in that editor, you used would've come handy.
Love this song but man can I hear Axl Rose singing this.
Canada Kock Rock!
STELLAR
Poor Ron. It was murder, leaving him to die on the ground like that.
