    36:04 For those unaware, Hanky Panky is more than just a competitive Peach Main; Hanky Panky is a very highly skilled player who wins pretty much every tournament he enters. The thing is, he *only* enters tournaments that he knows he can win, purely for the money. Unlike most other top players, who travel to majors and supermajors to compete with the very best, Hanky Panky pretty much exclusively plays tournaments near where he lives, so he almost never has any real competition. Even more interestingly, the very few times he has competed against some of the best players in the world, he’s actually done very well, beating a decent number of well known pros. His unconventional competitive history is strong enough to have many player ranking systems rank Hanky Panky extremely highly, like, top 10 player high, despite very rarely actually playing against other top 10 players, or top 50 for that matter.
    Basically, he’s not interesting just because he always wins tournaments; it’s how he wins tournaments.

We were definitely held back by technology in the past. Imagine trying to confirm a Star Fox 64 shortcut in '98 - it could take weeks of phone calls and coordinating visits, or hoping for a Nintendo Power issue. We had to grind in isolation, without instant VODs or chat, bottling up those breakthroughs until we could prove them in person. It's a different world now, and it's built on those early struggles.

    okay, making vhs versions of your videos as merch is an insanely cool idea, plus i always love media preservation.

    • @ScyrousFX
      @ScyrousFX 24 days ago +2

      This is the exact opposite of media preservation. Considering the bits of new content are only found on these limited VHS tapes, it's only a matter of time before this material becomes lost media. That's the consequence of only making it available through physical VHS tapes.
      Hoping someone records the VHS tape and uploads it online so there's actual media preservation to speak of, but I doubt it.

    Bro is so smart. Face reveal to promote a dope product equals marketing genius. People are gonna talk, which gives more exposure, and he does it on a popular ass game like Melee. What a legend.
