Okay, I was curious when I saw this video's thumbnail. I'm glad I watched it. I was rooting for the big gold colored robot because it showed a wide variety of techniques. I think it had a few misfortunes that cost it in the end. I hope these teams are well funded and keep modifying and improving their designs and that the competition continues for years to come.
That orange one was just amazing! The way it moves, attacks and even stand up, a great piece of engineering! The only drawback was its operator, he sucked!

battlebots is still on tv today and they've only gotten better and better. FRC is a high school competition where instead of combat robots, robots complete objectives such as climbing and shooting balls or lifting cubes if you're interested

Wow, @4:20(nice timing lol) the orange robot did a rising dragon punch from street fighter! Even does the spin, and jumps off one leg! That was incredible. It even looked great while doing it.. Hahaha. Made the whole 6 mins worth it. I thought it could only do that sideways shuffle uppercut move.

Si todos los países tomaran ejemplo e incluyeran en su sistema educacional, asignaturas que potenciaran el conocimiento, la tecnología, la imaginación y siempre desde un uso adecuado y nunca nocivo, los niños aprenderían desde muy pequeños cosas que les aportarían mucho, y no como las que aprenden actualmente, que muchas de ellas no sirven para demasiado o sencillamente no sirven para nada. Creo que los asiáticos son inteligentes porque saben enseñar y educar a sus menores. Esto vídeo en concreto tiene el cariz de una lucha y quizá no sea el mejor ejemplo (aunque es una lucha simpática), pero vi una feria de ciencias en Japón, en la que los colegios mandaron a sus niños presentar un robot creado por ellos. Niños de 8 años presentaron sus trabajos y algunos resultaron absolutamente increíbles. Creaciones de niños de 8 años, mandados por su profesor de ciencias... Ingenios que en cualquier otro país sería algo digno casi de patentar y en Japón fueron el simple ejercicio de ciencias de un niño... Nada importante... En fin, que si no aprendemos es porque no queremos. Un saludo y felicidades.

If we did stuff like this in america, people would actually join the Robotics club/class, BUT NOOOO it has to be about teamwork and how this can help the world. 1. Most people interested in Robotics work better solo 2. It is up to the marketing teams to figure out how this can benefit the world.
Took me a while to figure out what the pink little rectangular thing that falls off a bot is and where it came from. It's from the back of the white and black robot in the center of the screen that is closest to the screen at 0:34 and it falls off a couple seconds later.
