I just wanted to let you know that the etymology of the word Miradouro doesn't have anything to do with Douro river, although I've heard that definition before as populare culture. Miradouro comes from the latin word Mirari (in portuguese and spanish also use Mirar to define the verb To See, although more old-school portuguese). Douro is just a common suffix in portuguese to demonstrate that the verb becomes a place made by it's own action. So a place to "mirari"; a place to see.
