Tried to work something out with you guys! I called you guys multiple times, once to be told i couldn't upgrade the shock on my bike because it's a proprietary shock made for my bike only but i did more research and even called the manufacturer of the bike frame and they told me i absolutely can upgrade it, i just need offset bushings. with the previously mentioned info, i called the Lost Co. back and told them what i found out. Alex told me he'd call me back or send me an email within the next couple of days so he could do some research and see what all I'd need to upgrade the shock. Unfortunately, it's been weeks now and i have yet to upgrade the shock or hear back from you guys. I know things are crazy right now with the whole virus stuff going on but It just sucks to wait to long for a seemingly simple resolution to my issue. If you guys can't guarantee something for a customer, it's not right to tell them they'll be hearing back from you soon! I was ready to buy a shock from you guys the day I got the correct info on what i'd need to upgrade my bike too :/
@@K76C yep. i ended up just going to a local bike shop called cyclepathPDX and they were literally the best place i could've chosen. i think i've spent way too much money there in the past few months. kinda sucks that the lost co wasn't really willing to help me for some reason tho, definitely won't be giving them my money any time soon
@@MidWestMTB still no reply. i gave up a while ago though. went to a local bike shop that actually cared. ive already gotten all the parts i wanted and my bike is super dialed now. but now i just don't shop using the lost co.
I have 2 rides on my Dissector and I’m in love, plenty of climbing grip even in our current went conditions, and without a doubt a faster roller than a DHR2
dd410 i haven’t felt any loss of braking, but I have yet to go to the bike park yet to get a better feel for it, but for standard trail riding I haven’t seen any lack of brake control
For those trying to mullet out their 29ers I recommend trying 27.5x2.8 in the back. It only drops the bb by about 5mm but gives the bike better traction and noticeably improves cornering. That’s how I run my 2019 GT Sensor and it’s 👌
Dissector was a pretty great tire. I got one last summer when they first came out and wore it out recently. Fast and good cornering.I ride really rocky stuff and race enduro and never had a problem with exo casing. I think some people just smash into rocks without even trying to smooth it out.
The impression I was given about the Dissector is it fills the gap between the Aggressor and DHR2. It is more hooked up than the Aggressor, but rolls faster than the DHR2. My personal experience with the High Roller 2 is that it is a boat anchor with great wet traction, VERY slow rolling and a little squirmy on the cornering knobs, kinda like a magic mary.
shorty assegai dhf/dhr hr2 minion ss agressor dissector ikon (double down version) and Rekon (exo+ version) are all great tires. my fav allround tire are the assegais paired with agressor/dhr2, in wet i like assegai or shorty paired with hr2. in the winter i ride conti baron 2.4 bcc, only compound that doesnt turn into plastic under cold temps.
Guys, I don't know if the tire question specified type of riding, but not everyone rides steep stuff or needs DHF/DHR kind of tires. Would have appreciated some mellower suggestions
I ride the Michelin wild am, have you guys trued these tires or the Wild Enduro? I find them way better than the Maxxis DHR. I love your store and videos, great job>
wild enduro are great, but are unpredictable over wet roots and rocks. I got the new dh34 bike park edition for 25 bucks (running only on the rear and is with wire bead and tr) a lot better in the wet, super tough casing and dh like damping. But terrible on long steep climbs :-D
Hello, guys! I swapped my DHR II for an Aggressor 27.5x2.3 and it seems so narrow. I had in the past DHR II 2.4WT front and rear, change the front to a 2.5 DHF trying to have have less rolling resistance and very good grip. Surely, Aggressor is not draggy like DHR II but problaby I should have gone with the 2.5
I'm near the California desert & a Karate Monkey in 27.5+ form. What do you suggest as a good 2.8-3.0 tire for the front? It's year round dry so we barely get any rain if the matters.
Interested in trying out a reduced offset CSU on my fox36 29er. What are the guidelines regarding running a 275 CSU with 29er lowers? Thanks for the content..Stay Safe 🤘
I have a 2017 Patrol Carbon and I’m wanting to switch out the front rotor from 180mm to 203mm. Transition says they don’t recommend that, though I’m not sure why and I’m curious if this is doable and what your thoughts on it would be? Cheers!
Bike manufactures will tell you if your go too big on your rotor size the fork you're running is not built for those kind of braking forces. I don't know what fork you're running but it's something to consider. That's why you don't see a lot of 200/203 rotors being run on a trail bike that might have a Fox 34 up front, along with many other obvious reasons. If someone has more info on this please add your take because I'm going off info from a few years back.
Gregory, the aggressor is pretty square. Most front tires have a more round profile for smoother transitions in leaning the bike over and the rear more square to cut in. I personally wouldn’t run it in the front, but do what you like! Everyone told me the minion SS would be bad but I honestly run it year round here in Pisgah with no troubles! However I will run the aggressor as a back up. Assegai upfront is a game changer!! I went from a dhf, to dhr2, and am sticking to the assegai/minion ss combo both exo, both with cushcore. Will probably go exo+ or dd in the rear since I’m now on a hardtail
Michelin Wild Enduro front and rear 😊

For me in south Cali a Ardent race works so amazing but I paired it with an Assegai so I have business up, party in the rear kind of combo
Good questions, thanks bros!
assegai(2.5 exo+)-dissector(2.4 exo) is my new setup. Ordered a exo+ dissector but have little hope of getting this new release anytime soon.

How about running assegai front and rear?
PUSH ACS3 vs Vorsprung Smashpot?
Assegai vs Dissector in the front!!! Any Ideas?
dissector will be way less grip but prob faster rolling, def a rear tire. I run ass front, sector rear
Dissector up front maybe for a technical XC/light trail setup, pair with something like a Rekon Race or Ardent Race out back.
@@seanhornchek6440 How do you like the Assegai/dissector combo? I'm thinking of going that route on my bike.

How would you guys rate the maxxis shorty as a front tire? Thanks and great video
I use one on the front of my bike it’s amazing for grip not the fastest rolling but for mud or when it’s super dry it’s amazing
Shorty front, High Roller 2 rear is supposed to be great for muddy stuff.

symmetricon1982 probably not . Seems like maxxis tires are it for these guys . Maybe they don’t sell anything else .

my assegai legit was trying to grip as i was falling. it so damn grippy
What about tire width?
What casing for Maxxis tyres would you guys recommend to me? im around 50kg i ride pretty agressive.
exo plus if you ride trail, and double down if you ride more enduro.
At 50kg, you'd be fine on EXO, you're not going to be as hard on tires.
