Over the past few years it seems (I may be wrong) that I'm seeing more and more yellow Booby eyes being used. When I see the inside of UK stillwater fly fishers' boxes, I see alot of yellow Booby eyes. Overall more effective than other colors? Thanks. Cheers,
I’m not sure that it isn’t just a trend but yes for me yellow seems to be a more productive colour . That May just be a confidence thing I guess . Let’s face it most trout chasing this fly won’t se the eyes at all ! .. I suppose if it’s working don’t change it . I also use this pattern with black eyes .. thanks for watching
@@timjoyceflyfishing-essex6769 Tim, yes, it may be that many fly fishers like the color, therefore they fish it more, catch more fish because it is in the water rather than being in the box, and it becomes a confidence fly. And, thank you for your videos. I like their brevity and usually simple flies to tie. Cheers,
Thanks Tim really interesting, you make it look really easy, how long have you been tying flies pls? Recently found your channel great content and very well produced.
Very kind of you . I am self taught . Wish I had resources like RUclips when I was learning . I have been tying as long as I have been fly fishing . I feel both should go hand in hand so thats 31 years now .. and just starting to get my head around it ! lol .. Thanks for watching and any suggestions for patterns you would like to see please leave a comment on any of the vids .. Tim

8ft deep water going to use d I 5 what length leader thanks
depends on how close to the bottom you want to keep the fly .. shorter the leader deeper the fly will hold .
What’s your most productive method of fishing these ?
As a point fly on any line from a floater to a Di 7 .. great attractor pattern , prefer them in clear water on a bright day .
