02/12/2023 update: ARUX 47 has finally left the Memphis area. It left on this evening's NS 16Z so it should be around the Sheffield, AL area, before heading to Birmingham & ultimately to its next assignment in Calera.
Awesome video, and appreciate the narration of the operations. Couple questions, but what's the radio feed for trains at Kentucky Street & Broad Ave?, and what days/time does that CN RJY30 run? I'll be down in Memphis some of next week on business, thought it'd be cool to shoot some trains while there in the downtime. Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback. 1. For radio frequencies, there's several for the Kentucky Street/Channel 3 Drive Area, but 161.160 (AAR Channel 70) is the BNSF Memphis Terminal channel, which gets you the majority of the trains through there. The others usually go through around 10 mph so you'd have time to set up for those. Broad Avenue is the CN Fulton Sub which usually uses 161.190 (AAR Channel 72). 2. RJY30 typically runs daily, as it's the CN to NS transfer. Normally it runs in the afternoon to NS/early evening timeframe back to CN, but it's been a minute since I've been out to Memphis. You'll want to set up closer to CN Junction/Virginia Avenue for a better shot of that one.
CSX's Super Steam Star PM 1225!
Some great catches in this video for sure! Cool video!
