I have River 100% picked out for a boy because of River Phoenix and Sutton and Story for girls. Wow I love that we like the same names. I’m only 18 rn lol not using them for awhile.
When I hear the name Sutton the only thing I can think about is this tv show „The Bold Type”. One of the girls is named Sutton and I absolutely LOVE her.

Nature names are soooo pretty!! My aunt and her husband both have nature names (Flora and Clyde), and 2/3 of their daughters have nature names too (Willow and Amber). Amber’s name was supposed to be River and we all were so excited for that name. But my grandmother has a strong Filipino accent and couldn’t really pronounce it hahaha. I still love the name River for a girl ❤️

Nat T Same! I love names that are that perfect balance. Like, most people can pronounce/spell it and have probably at least heard of it, but not everyone has it. And I love old timey names. The girl name my husband and I have at the top of our list is Elizabeth.
Nora was one of the few non traditional/family names I had on my list. Just love it. We went all family names, and since everyone wants to be "unique" our kids are the only ones in the entire town that has their names. So their "old, stuffy" names ended up being pretty unique.
I’ve had a girl name picked out since before I started dating my boyfriend and I’ve been set on it for years - we have since talked about baby names (even though we’re not planning on having kids in the near future) and he thankfully liked the name and agreed that I get to choose the girl name and he gets to name the boys (of course within reason 😄)
For a boy I’m naming my first boy Henry after my dad it’s his middle name and middle name Bryant after my mom which is her maiden name ...Boy: Henry Bryant ... Girl: Laney Grace .... my best friend named his son Brayden Ace Dichoso ... so his initials spell B.A.D. 🤦🏻♀️

I completely agree about babies looking like blobs. I don't understand how people can say a baby looks like a certain name and I work in a NICU so I see this all the time. You don't really see a baby's personality until about 2 months later to really know if a name fits them (for example if the baby is super smiley and happy so they have a bubbly name) but by that point its to late.
@@reinal7896 Very true. When my babies are in the hospital, a lot of them stay for months at a time and some get their names changed 2 or 3 times, but most parents stick to the name that they chose for whatever reason that's personal to them.

To us it doesn't have to be a name that can be pronounced in english and in french. It's not that important to us. Kyla's name was always pronounced weird in school and it never bothered her!

Sutton is a town name that's 15 minutes away from me and Lennox is a town 'lennoxville" that is also close by. It was so funny to hear that as a baby name.. because I'd never consider that, I guess because it would be like naming your child based on a street name or town that was close by... I personally haven't gotten anyone saying that they don't like my son's name... BUT the most annoying thing is people trying to nickname him before he's even born. His name is Emory John, and my husband's entire side of the family has decided that they want to call him "EJ" and I HATE it. I've told them several times that they're not going to call my son that but they keep calling him that. I don't know why it bothers me so much, I just feel disrespected and defeated.... okay, sorry, rant over.

I agree with so many of your points. 1) never telling prior- people ALWAYS say such rude things in response, as if it’s open for discussion. His name is Emory John, and my husband's entire side of the family has decided that they want to call him "EJ" and I HATE it. I've told them several times that they're not going to call my son that but they keep calling him that. I don't know why it bothers me so much, I just feel disrespected and defeated.... okay, sorry, rant over.

Ι always loved the name Luna for girls. It means moon in Latin and I also love nefeli (Greek name) or Lydia! As for boys I don't even know😂
My dog's name is Lydia and we always get heaps of compliments! Almost wished we named her something else so we could use the name for a future child but it fits her so well! 😭

I agree with so many of your points. 1) never telling prior- people ALWAYS say such rude things in response, as if it’s open for discussion. Unless you say, “what do you think?”, just say it’s cute people!!
