Player: Goes absolutely ballistic in one match
Comp Progress: “All that for a drop of blood?”
i had a silver-plat game, and i checked the profiles i got 2 golds (me included) 3 silvers and a plat on my team and the enemy team had 3 plats 1 gold and a silver. After 4 rounds of sheer stress we finally won and i got a nice heart warming 15% (not even an uphill battle)

I find it when I'm not having fun anymore amd decide to take others fun away I lock in and play better which there for tricks the game if u lose the first round amd win the game the game thinks its uphill battle
For anyone who doesn't know, this is a visual bug. For 1 of at least 2 reasons, either a leaver or demotion protection, it doesn't show loss of rank after a loss. (Given how low he was in that rank, I'm going to guess it was demotion protection.) The "1%" is the sum total of that previous game and this one.
this doesn’t make much sense. i’ll lose a game and get demotion protection and then win a game and gain 5% i don’t think it should be like that
Yeah, like, when you lose 20% while at 5%, it gives you demotion protection and shows 0%, but you are actually 85% in the rank below. When you then win for 20%, you go back to 5% and it looks like you only got 5%. I think this system is fine, since it should prevent you from dropping a rank when you lose and then win (since you should be at minumum 0% in a rank.) but they should give us more visual that this is what is happening.
this makes sense thank you bro. Last night I was getting 3% for like 2 games back to back (went like 3-2) but I never deranked. I think another bug is that sometimes it skips the comp progress menu because i didn't even know if i had demotion protection or what my progress looked like until like the last 2 games.

that's prolly a bug I got that but when I restarted it showed my normal percent at the end of the next game
like it boosted to where it should have been it didn't actually add nothing
If you have demotion protection, wins won't give you any rank progress until you earn enough SR to get back to the threshold of the rank you're currently on
It happened to a few of my friends who didn't rank down immediately after losing and getting their progress bar to 0%

That makes me so mad. I played 10 games, won 8 and lost 2. Only gained 4 or less percent each time and one loss put me back at 0

for me what makes me mad it's when you roll a team and win they just put expected and give less progress and we get stuck on the same rank for winning too good
expect isn't because you rolled it's because of their ranks

Did you get the demotion protection the game before? Cause if you just decrease 1% (cause of demotion protection) the other minus percentage are still exists and will be combined with the win which ends in +1% for a game =)

Edit: Before more people spam the same comment, I end up with positive KD with ok stats, there were no reason for this.
i think getting -1% on a win can be justified, if you played absolutely awful and contributed nothing. But yeah the system seems absolutely borked, so I'd chalk that up to the system being broken.

@@JoaoPedro-sm6oi i mean the game tracks more than just K/D and dmg done so it should be able to tell if you were completely worthless, but if you were even anywhere close to your other teammates in elims you should never even get close to getting 0%, let alone -%

If it’s not something with demotion protection, I believe it’s just showing you how far into that next rank you went in terms of a %. The remaining 15% or whatever percent is in the previous rank.

I had this a couple days ago where we won but I still lost 2%
it just means that you had a loss previous to that and the progresson system protected you from demotion

Man, I want to play Reinhardt on tank but he just gets bullied. I was playing him for most of Eichenwalde but then the enemy switched to Mauga so I was like "I'll see how this goes"
I tried to charge out of a Hanzo ult, Mauga charged into it and literally just held me in place with his charge so I was like "okay, one more try here"
I tried to pin the Mauga from behind and right before I hit him, he charged. In the opposite direction. Facing away from me. I made contact with him and my pin stopped so I was just standing there with my Reinhardt dick in my hand, watching Mauga run off like he didn't just get hit from behind by a quarter-ton iron man propelled by rockets.

I’m hard stuck in gold and it is fr impossible and a waste of time trying to climp to just get back there, so I quit. If they maybe fix how much you go down and up for the lower ranks I might rejoin the shit hole
ok but i think the reason its 1% is because the last game you lost and dropped below the threshold, so the first like ~20% is to get back up to that point and the 1% is how much over the bottom you are
The other day I hit a reaper with my javelin by accident so many times that I stopped aiming for his tank and started intentionally targeting him. It was like he wanted to die
