      Likewise for me, too. I found my blacklight LED light for finding scorpions. I still couldn’t get the switch assembly to work, so I swapped it for another similar pocket light.. I plan to search tonight! Thanks!

    Thank you, my light fell apart at the on/off button and the pieces dropped to the ground when I unscrewed the back. I found the pieces but could not be sure it was complete without a guide and to reassemble, even more mysterious. Your video helped a lot. I had all the parts and it was only a matter of assembling. With your video, very easy. Thanks again, DP.

    Very helpful video, very clear. The only problem for me was that the part where the bulb is situated IS SEALED and cannot be either opened or completely unscrewed to separate it from the tube where the battery goes. The torch has DELIBERATELY been designed this way in order that you CANNOT JUST REPLACE THE BULB costing about 2€ but are FORCED to buy a NEW TORCH.

    • @miklemikemuster
      @miklemikemuster 6 месяцев назад +1

      I got to my bulb on my "focusing" bulb by peeling off the rubber hood. (it's lightly glued) Then unscrewing the lens cap to get to the bulb.

    I purchased one of these lights and the orange rubber switch cover was sitting off to one side. I was unable to adjust it.
    With the help of this video I was able to remove the tail cap and re-seat the cover. The cover did not come out easily. It was trapped on one 'corner'.
    I placed the tail cap unit on a writing notepad to avoid any damage to the surface or the tail cap itself. Then I used a Philips head screwdriver to gently tap the 3 sides of the switch. This freed up enough room to release the cover. Another few taps and the switch was released.
    Placed the rubber cover back in the hole and tapped the switch back. An easy fix. Thank you for your video. It will also be useful if I decide I want to upgrade or change the led.

    • @Dhulfiqar
      @Dhulfiqar  3 года назад

      You're welcome David, true, but I prefer using a wooden stick or any plastic object to push the switch assembly out of the tail cap as the steel screwdriver (especially the thin ones) might crack the plastic switch assembly.

    • @davidr954
      @davidr954 3 года назад

      @@Dhulfiqar Yes, I would have preferred to have used something non-metallic to avoid any damage, but I didn't have anything else suitable.
      The screwdriver I used has a 5mm wide head. One that's wider would probably be better to even out the force. I certainly wouldn't use anything smaller, as this would likely puncture the switch.
      Obviously your method is better, but if you don't have something suitable to act as a drift, then the screwdriver can work. As long as you go easy and don't apply a lot of force.

    • @Dhulfiqar
      @Dhulfiqar  Год назад +1

      Thank you!
      That O-ring around the pill probably tore because it was not lubricated.. apply a little bit of any grease on them or petrolium Jel to lubricate them.
      There are sets of O-rings from websites like Amazon/Aliexpress.. Just measure the o-ring and order the set that contains it.
      All the best.

      @Dhulfiqar  7 месяцев назад

      You are welcome!
      You most likely lost the O-ring that the zooming mechanisim slides on.. The O-ring sits on the Pill (The bare aluminium part that houses the LED and the circuit board)
      It is recommended to lubricate the Ring a little bit but not too much to make it slide easily but not too loose.

      Hi.
      You can tighten the neck (the sliding part) by removing it, you will see two rubber rings (O-Rings) on the silver part that contains the LED (the pill).
      Remove or reduce the lubricant oil on the O-rings using a tissue and some rubbing alcohol.
      Now the sliding part will be tight.
      If it becomes too tight, then put some petroleum gel on the O-rings and so on.

      I think and I'm not sure, if you used a driver that has 4 stars, probably the driver is the cause (but i'm not sure), submit your question in BudgetLightForum.com and you will certainly get the answer because I have not used an SST40 LED before.. good luck.

      if it's too tight, then you need to use a needle nose pliers to unscrew the pill with it ( the pill is the Aluminium part that holds the LED and the driver)

    Hi, I'm not very technically minded, I have one of these torches and the head which controls the zoom function has become loose. It moves loosely up and down the body of the torch and cannot stay on one zoom function. Which part do you think is broken and how can I fix it? Thank you very much.

    • @Dhulfiqar
      @Dhulfiqar  2 года назад +1

      Hi Rebecca
      1- Either the O-rings that sit around the pill (the black rubbery rings around the silver part that contains the LED shown in 0:41) is lubricated too much that it makes the lens move loosely (you can reduce the lubrication by rubbing it with a tissue containing a little bit of cologne or any rubbing alcohol)
      2- The O-ring might be cut or not sitting in its groove.
      You're welcome.

    I'm environmentally conscious so I have been using rechargeable batteries for my Tac Lights which use up a lot of juice. There is no information on B&H Website about recommended voltage for batteries. Anybody use rechargeables out there?

    • @Dhulfiqar
      @Dhulfiqar  7 месяцев назад

      Which battery does your Tac light take? This one takes 18650 batteries which their voltages are 3.7V.. there are dedicated 18650 chargers on Amazon.
      All the best.
