I remember KITT having a light up gas pedal and the drivers door handle on the exterior as well does that still exist today?

The phoney gas door using an f body door handle was probably a stage item too.

I live in Greece and everyone here (of some age, hm) remembers the Express Service commercial. What I remember from that time is being a little kid in a car with my parents down Syngrou Avenue in Athens and driving by the Express Service headquarters where they had this particular (I guess!) car on display on a large elevated platform. Also, in the photo at 2:03 (which looks like it was taken in front of the Municipal Theater in Pireaus if I am not mistaken), the sign on the left reads "Photos and videos prohibited"!

Hello ! I spotted than on the 01:55 of the video , in another pic from Greece , david wear a jacket with the agno ( "ΑΓΝΟ" ) logo , of the fresh milk company !!!! For non-greek , "αγνο" means "pure" in Greek and it's kinda funny and on the spot , for knight rider character , to wear this !
and the most shocking thing of all , in the advertisement , is (not the out of tune music or voice of kitt , but..) the normal engine (not a jet ) shown on 03:13 ..

I used to put neon and special lighting on my car for shows(kids love that) and knight rider was that influence. Keep the content coming.👍👌🙂
The more obscure the better. Love this! I’m the sort of person who gets excited when you say that a rust patch from 2 parts matches and so proves they used to be together or a paint scratch shows the old paint. Just awesome!

I come from the Netherlands and in 1983 as a child I only watched The A-team and Knight Rider on Dutch television. Otherwise I played outside
At some point they were at the olean center mall in olean new york. I personally sat in kit when I was seven years old.
That same car broke down in my old hpometown of Redwood city, ca, on the highway 101, when the fuel pump konk'd out, it was also the first birth place of a Knight Replica in late 1984!

fun fact when Kitt was on display at universal studios Hollywood California in late 80's . I sat inside and asked Kitt a couple questions and one of them was how much did it cost to build you and Kitt responded with 14 million Dollars
That overhead panel looks like something straight out of the Star Trek TOS. It would fit right at home mounted to something Scotty would have to fix.

Even though i was born in 1994, i am a HUGE fan of the Knight Rider series and up until now, i never knew they brought an actual car to my home country, Greece!

Very cool stuff. Can't wait to hear about the tour cars. I was in Germany 1985 to 1988. David was huge there.
Regarding the inactive lights I'd imagine with age (and how thrown together it is inside) that something has failed, possibly broken connection(s) as they have fitted lights on it that aren't working. Needs a visual investigation to see if the "dead" lights are connected and some effort with a multimeter to check wiring continuity, outputs on the circuit boards etc.
It's always great to see another piece of Knight Rider history!

Looked like a bunch of the lights didn't work in the console. Just the six hooked up together. This stuff is interesting. Should a lispy voice like the trekky guys do for fun when describing something.
What a strange overhead console but it is amazing anyway.Its fascinating anyway.

THIS IS GETTING INTERESTING 🧐😳😎 I thougt immediatly, holy sh*** i know this Part and i damn know where it came from, or where it belongs too aaaaand i personally pushed a few of the Buttons on this Console back in 2018, when it was still in the place where it came from 😊😊😊
So let me get into this... Because.... i am clearly a big KR Fan forever, i am building my own Replica too. But when i was a Kid, i never get the Chance to sit in a Tour Car, when David was touring around Europe and especially Austria (where i live), i didn't even get the Chance to go on a Concert from him. I started my Replica Build in 2015... more or less it is going quiet well, step by step 😁 I am very interested in Cars as well, so back in 2018 there was a Car Show in Vienna, the Owner of the Tour Car, where you get this Overhead Console from, was the Organizer of this Show and i knew he where putting his Tour Car on Display there.
So i get to Vienna, to get a closer look on that Car, it was important for me, as i said... i never was sitting in a Tour Car and get a Polaroid Picture from this stunning Moment.
So i dicided to give Full Power on my Mission... and i was going around this Car Show from A to Z, going there, and there... and speak to many many People there, Security Staff, Official Looking People, i talked to a bunch of People... until i get to a Women, she was in the Organizing Team, and she made it possible 🥰🥰🥰
Oh Maaaaan my Heart was beating thousands of Revs up 😁 noooo not because of the Woman 🤣 it was because finally the Time has come to get in a Tour Car, and it was a absolutley stunning Moment,
she get a guy from the Motorcycle Stunt Show which was going on right next to the Hall where the Car was on Display, to get the Lights on the Dash working.
The Owner of this Tour Car is also the Head of this Motorcycle Stunt Event "masters of dirt".
But i think you allready know the owner, as you had helping him out with Parts and knowledge to put the right Parts in the Car 😊
And i am also pretty sure, you know how he get this Car.
Finally i would say... the KR Circle where Closed right there for me, it was this missing Piece i wanted to get.
Back in 2018 i knew this Car where never used in the Show and was build after the Show was ended, honestly i knewd it years before but it is an important KR History and should be honored.
Maybe it Sounds crazy, but i am glad, that i never was sitting in a Tour Car when i was a kid, because if I imagine that I would have sat in a tour car with the belief that this is "The Real KITT", get a Polaroid Picture and start dreaming when looking at it, and decades later learn that the car was never used in the series, I think that would have broken my heart.
I would be very happy if you loading up more Videos about this Stuff... Tour Cars... unusual KR Parts, and also your Screen Used Cars 🥰

I live in Greece, I remember the commercial spot. I ve noticed that the commercial kitt's dash was different than the original insert dash. I can't believe that someone built this terrible replica
Always enjoy the unique things like this. I knew it was a console and it belonged on the inside of the roof. But that’s as far as I could ascertain. Also that was horrifyingly see all of those stickers all over KITT, David should’ve been ashamed of himself for allowing that.😏

I would say this isn't insignificant. This was keeping Knight Rider alive when the series ended. When the show ended I had withdrawal symptoms! If only I had realised about the tours, don't know if they came to the UK but certainly not my neck of the woods.

I'm still looking for something original like a roof button...finding original parts of KITT that A, don't cost a small fortune and B, that people will part with is next to impossible. I'm having trouble even with the low end stuff like buttons, visors, lights...

It’s a shame that David couldn’t have used a screen used KITT from the original series for his Looking for Freedom Tour, I think that would have been SO COOL if he could have used a screen used KITT from the series for his tour
I know this car where this overhead console come from. This car was build in USA and transport to austria for hasselhoff night rocker Tour in 1987. After that he give it to his austrian manager. In 2008 the son of the manager drive the Tour car with hasselhoff at the gumball 3000 ralley also in las vegas Nevada. The overhead console was always on Board. Installed in USA 87 and now back to US.
