This video is so fun! I could watch people swatch and talk about eyeshadows all day. I love it! When you got to the shimmers, my jaw dropped every time!
Same. I love talking about makeup in general. I adore eyeshadow, but i work in an environment that isn't conducive to the eyeshadow that I'd like to wear.
Unearthly and Blend Bunny for the win! I'm glad you mentioned about emollient vs. drier shimmers. The difference matters to hoodies and creasies like me!
Agreed!! Although bella beaute bar is my number one, the special shades are just that but I love the matte formula too pigmented but buildable and blendable...
I also love the Viseart mattes. The Danessa Myricks mattes from the Groundworks palettes are amazing. ESUM is really good as well. I am a lover of shimmers but I wear more mattes. I really love Clionadh for shimmers and special shades.
I'm willing to try Unearthly again. When they were Alien Cosmetics, I bought a palette. But it was so hard panned, I tossed it. I'm obsessed with shimmers😂😂😂
I purchased the Robert Welsh Blend Bunny pallet the other day... wow, very great formula. I haven't used many of them, but i dipped into the purples and the black. Very beautiful. I also really like What's Up Beauty pallets. So pretty, and packs a punch. I love the Crystal shade in the Geodes pallet. I do the mauve in the crease and that shimmer on the lid... stunning.
After watching your video, I placed my first Cosmic Brushes order. I had been thinking about it, but it was the Nudetrals and Undergrowth palettes that finally snagged me due to their color story. 🦋👩🦰
I am definitely a shimmer girl. My favorite shimmer formula is Ensley Reign, Simply Posh, and Fantasy Cosmetica. My favorite matte formula is Blend Bunny and Ensley Reign. I think Blend Bunny is truly beginner friendly even more than Natasha Denona.
Great video, I’m a multichrome girl. Fave matte formulas are bbb, odens eye, glamlite and blend bunny. Fave shimmer formulas are bbb, ensley reign and clionadh x
It’s interesting to me that so many people call Natasha Denona easy-to-worlk with. When I started out getting into eyeshadow and I didn’t have good brushes I found it very difficult to get a nice blend, abh for example was very easy for me. Now that I have more experience and the right tools I really like the Natasha Denona Formula.
What do you consider the right tools? I have synthetic eye brushes and natural hair brushes and I still can’t make the Natasha Denona formula work for me. It always looks terrible every time. It is not an easy formula at all.
@@kathleenmoortel5449 I get it. I started out with morphe brushes and cheap brushes from the drugstore. Now I use rephr brushes (would recommend buying them on sale) and they blend really nicely. So I need to make the right choice and your video is super helpful!Thank you once again for such a great review!
I agree with you that Blend Bunny mattes are top tier. My favourite shimmer formula is from Give Me Glow. If you like smooth traditional foiled shimmers then you would love them!

Really like your explanations of why you enjoy the formulas. I don't like textured shadows either. I have the Glamlite Betty Boop and Garfield palettes on my wishlist😊I do hope the Trick r Treat palette is the same formula. Maybe I can pick them up during sale. Their shipping is really expensive to the UK. I'd love to try Dedes too. The Cappuccino and Blooming Basket palettes were some of my faves this year.
Loved this video! So informative! Especially with so many choices and releases from these indie brand (or mainstream like Natasha). I can’t afford to buy them all (unfortunately)🤣 So thank you!! 🙏🏻 Never bought a blend bunny palette but very intrigued to do so. And also extraordinary that their matte game is so good, considering their price point which is a lot cheaper than other indie brands😮😍 And ok now I really need a fantasy cosmetica palette!! I love smooth metallic shimmers.
Im a matte girlie and my fave brands (in order): Blend Bunny, Cosmic Brushes, Unearthly, Glamlite, and Klarity. For shimmer: Ensley Reign, Clionadh, Unearthly, Cosmic Brushes, and Adept.
I want to love indie shimmer eyeshadow sooo bad, but with oily hooded eyelids they crease no matter what 😭😭😭 nothing saves them unless i put them over a thicker shimmer formula. Either way I love your videos and live vicariously through you!! 🥰
I suffer from the same so I find good hacks that help. First use magnesia milk and lightly pressed in your eyelids. Next and lightly too put a thin layer of matte pressed powder and then a small amount of eye primer (wet nd wild is good, let dry) and then put a thin layer of matte pressed powder too. Next used your eyeshadows and when you ping to put the shimmer use a glitter primer (NYX is good but technic cosmetics that is very cheap too just their eye primer). The best way to use glitter primer is put a very small amount in my fingertip and with the same fingertip from the other hand I smash between them and then tap it in my lids where I want to put the shimmers. Use your fingertip then to put the shimmer, spread it well, without to much texture and finish your makeup. If you want to help even more put in the end of all lightly the matte pressed powder again, all translucent so that don’t mess with your eyeshadow color. Let me know if you were well succeed as me! 🙏🏻
I really love ND and Unearthly. I also like the matte formula from Ensley Reign and Jolie Beauty. And I know some will disagree but for the most part, I like the metalic shimmer forumla from CP. I do not like their pressed glitters but their shimmer formula is nice IMO.

Rachel, I get very excited about swatching my new palettes! I also love swatching some of my older palettes as a pick-me-up. That Elevates my mood without fail. I only have from indie brands Cosmic Beauty and Nomad, but I'm interested in more! The ND and Pat McGrath color stories I became very bored with. I love the shimmers, mostly in palettes, especially the special shades. Side note: I love Colorpop palettes if they have a good formula, too. I'm stuck on all my Cosmic Brushes palettes lately. I don't want to use anything else...except for my Ensley Reign palette. 😍 Choosing top 5 is so hard!
The eye look is so glamorous and gorgeous on you, Rachel! Thank you for the video. It is so helpful for you to describe the different formulas. I am a hooded eye lady so creasing can be an issue for me but, I did some research, and decided to try Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy. It has worked so well for me and better than NYX Glitter Glue! I pretty much use it for any shimmer, avoiding placing it directly in the crease, and it holds everything in place. It works equally well with several brands (Nomad, Fantasy Cosmetica, Dieverune, VE Cosmetics, GlamLite, etc.) on me. I am looking forward to trying CB's formulas when my Sinister box arrives and I really want to try Unearthly so a palette from them will probably be my next splurge. Thank you again!
I keep wanting to try Blend Bunny, but the colour stories… just aren’t stories. They don’t make me feel things and take me places. At some point they will have to do something other than a rainbow or rainbow adjacent palette and when they do I am here for it. Would love to see something smaller from them also. I was so pumped to try Glamlite after seeing you all rave about them, but I gone done pretty dirty by customer service and now I’m hearing the quality on some palettes is a bit different. 🤷♀️
Have you seen their longing palette? I feel like that's a more consolidated color story. And there's definitely a range in quality with glamlite. Dede Signature is also one that I have never tried, I might have to look into their collection. By the way, there is no link for them in your link list. Natasha Denona does not interest me in the slightest so that is an easy pass for me. Bella Beaute Bar I have not tried either but Vamp is on its way to me. 😊From Blend Bunny I have Sickly Sweet and Longing, I really like their quality. I can't choose between mattes and shimmers, I love them both! 😆 You look extremely beautiful in this video! Well, you are beautiful in every video but this look somehow suits you exceptionally well.
Yes we excited when swatching eyeshadows😂😂 it’s captivating ✨✨✨✨. Loved your video super helpful especially when sometimes you want a good shimmer or metallic. I do love glitter shades but prefer shimmers like the ones you shown. thank you! Oh and love your kitty ( crazy cat person here 😆no kids either)😂😂
I almost have all the palettes you’ve mentioned, I love them they’re so pretty ❤ Your eye look is stunning!!! I liked so much are you going to recreate this look? I hope so it’s amazing ❤❤❤❤
Wow your look is so stunning! Two formulas you didn't mention that I really like are ABH and Sydney Grace - both mattes and shimmers but I'm more picky about shimmers. I have hooded eyes and my preference is for "one and done" looks and shimmers that have high coverage, don't crease on me and are not too shiny and sparkly. For ABH I really like how they are more softly pressed (I think???), I just find them super pleasant to work with and I keep reaching for my ABH a palettes. Sydney Grace have that classy more satiny look, go on very light yet very opaque and also it is one of the formulas that give me the least irritation (a lot of shadows irritate my eyes slightly) so always the perfect choice for when you want to look nice but it's going to be a long day.
My problem with Cosmic Brushes is the shades fade away with time, they don’t resist all day… and that’s irritating because they have great formula for blending and their shimmer as well and they aren’t expensive compared with other indie brands
Hi! Ok so I have exactly one Unearthly palette (Sorcerous Smoke) and I find the shimmers almost unusable - they have SO much fall out, even with a glitter glue. I do my eyes first but there is just so much glitter on my face after that’s impossible to clean and it continues falling throughout the day anyway. Any tips, tricks or suggestions? Thanks!
I want to pick up an unearthly cosmetics palette for christmas. I like color but I usually don’t go crazy with it, so high temp is a bit too vibrant for me. Do you or anyone else can help me out wether to pick up spring magic or gargoyle? Sourcerous smoke is right up my alley but unfortunately not available on european retailers anymore.

Bella Beaute Bar I have not tried either but Vamp is on its way to me. 😊From Blend Bunny I have Sickly Sweet and Longing, I really like their quality. I can't choose between mattes and shimmers, I love them both! 😆
You look extremely beautiful in this video! Well, you are beautiful in every video but this look somehow suits you exceptionally well.
Melt cosmetics and jsc cosmetics have a great matte formula. I’d say melt isn’t a beginner formula. Also Viseart mattes are great too.
Nice video i love your video
Yes we excited when swatching eyeshadows😂😂 it’s captivating ✨✨✨✨. Loved your video super helpful especially when sometimes you want a good shimmer or metallic. I do love glitter shades but prefer shimmers like the ones you shown. thank you! Oh and love your kitty ( crazy cat person here 😆no kids either)😂😂
😻😻😻
I almost have all the palettes you’ve mentioned, I love them they’re so pretty ❤
Your eye look is stunning!!! I liked so much are you going to recreate this look? I hope so it’s amazing ❤❤❤❤
Thank you! I filmed it and it should be up on RUclips shorts soon!
Adept and ensley reigns are my favorites.
Both very good!
Yay! Rachel Time!!!
🥳🥳🥳
I love Nomad and Cosmic Brushes. Love your videos!!!!

Oh no! 😒
I'm shocked viseart wasn't on ur mattes list! Great picks tho overall ❤
I’ve only ever tried one quad from them. I need to try more!
Best video, thank you!!
👀👀 thanks for sharing!!
No problem!!
#glaminatrix for the win! ❤❤❤
I'm a shimmer girl.🦋👩🦰

Thanks!
Oh no! Do you apply with your finger or a brush? If it’s a brush, maybe you want to spray your brush so it sticks to you brush a little more
@@rachelapalmieri I apply with a finger!
Gargoyle would be great if you want depth, Spring Magic is great if you want more light/mid tones. Both have great quality!
@ thank you for your response🙏🏻✨
Mattes are the bread and the shimmers are the fixin's. You need them both for a great eye sandwich; don't make me choose! 😆😆😆
Love that!
What about cheaper brands? 🥺💕 Or drugstore ?
I expected for shimmers you might have mentioned Adept or Ensleigh Reign..😂
I’ve only tried one Ensley reign palette and I do like adept but they’re not a favorite!
Main stream should be done separately from Indie palettes…
