Uhhh ... Tantos años que no escuchaba esta version mix ... Ya casi la habia olvidado. Que recuerdos. Fui testigo de cuando salió al mercado la version original. Fue increible. Gracias.
You're welcome. I am uncertain as to which distribution this mix actually received. It is remixed by Phil Harding and PSB and included on an US 12" (V-19256) where it is titled "vocal mix". Funny thing though, on the cover only the standard 12" mix, "disco mix" is mentioned. There is also a quote claiming the single being "From the forthcoming album "Jealousy". Very exciting stuff. As we all know, the latter song was an early PSB composition but not released until 1991.
Pet Shop Boys should work with Stock/Aitken/Waterman on their next album. They like S.A.W. They say it all the time in interviews. I love the Pet Shop Boys and PWL!!!!
Thanks for commenting. This was always THE mix for me too. Today I find it has not survived the passing of time all together. I have to admit it contains a tiny element of corniness as well. For me now, a strong competitor to the title "the ultimate version" will have to be the live version from the nightlife tour. The intro, the bass drum, the sequencer line, the effectiveness - oooh, it's amazing! RUclips won't let me post url:s to other clips here, it seems but it ends with v=V7kBIbkLPk0
@euesperides This was originally commissioned as a US only release mix after the UK version had left the charts - title 'Latin Vocal Mix'. Harding/Curnow didn't know it was US only. It reached the top 10 of the Billboard chart. It was later included under titled 'Miami Mix' on limited edition CD (20 copies) as a prize for a BBC R1 comp held on 'Pet Shop Boys Day' in September 93. Unusually, for PSB remix, Chris & Neil weren't present during the process, ordinarily they do prefer to be there.
BEST 'It's a sin' remix of all time... I also own the original EMI America 12" import back from '87 [which also inc. the awesome Dub Mix]. This version is a.k.a. 'Vocal Mix'. Quote from PSB website: Done at PWL studios, the home of Stock Aitken Waterman, in 1987 with Phil Harding and Ian Curnow and promo'd later that year. (The woman speaking in Spanish on the mix was the studio receptionist.)... Cool!!
there are elements in this remix which are similar to Phil Hardings remix of Always on my mind - chekc out "Always On My Mind (Remix 87 Maxi single vinyl)" on youtube if interested. It's one of my favourite Pet Shop Boys remixes, along with Domino Dancing 'alternative / soft mix'
