I have to wear sweatpants for 6 weeks of daily radiation treatments; I got single loop sweatpants and didn’t know how to best secure them. Now I know. Thanks, great video.
Of all the channels that teach you useful things for free, this channel is by far my favorite.. my simple mind doesn't comprehend how you come up with these knots &v just how useful they all are! Amazing!
Thanks for this knot! I've been bound to "COVID sweats" with no solution. I'm a guy with a flat backside, so have nothing to hold them up. This is a blessing.
Fantastic knot. I now can wear all my shorts that I haven’t worn in years because I couldn’t keep them up with my knots. Great presentation. Thank you.
DUDE, I Love this video and this knot! Thanks First Class Amateur. It's just what the Doctor ordered. Do you know how embarrassing it is to answer the door in my sweats when my pants keep sliding down around my ankles? (Seriously Brent I do practice every knot you come out with... )😆🤣😅
This is just what I needed for my work pants! Does anyone have a decorative knot suggestion I can use to shorten the loop? It currently hangs about 20 inches down to my knees, and I just tied a quick overhand so it doesn't catch on anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Man, what is the Deal with fake grass? It's so obvious guys, you ain't foolin anybody. Furthermore, I don't want one of you paying for fake grass to say a damn word about the green agenda when you're spreading plastic across land which could be growing shit. Period. Excellent knot video, I love these.
Awesome! Don't wear sweatpants, but think I'll have to lace my shoes backwards so I can try this with them... Already a fan of the "Ian knot" but this might be a tad faster.
Hello...I am sending a message from Iran with a filter breaker....please make a video about how to tow a car so that the rope does not break....I learned a lot from your videos...thanks
Great in theory, but extremely difficult in practice depending on the material used for the drawstring. For the life of me, I could not get all the loops cinched tight, and if they aren’t tight, the knot doesn’t work. Oh well.
Hey buddy thanks for all the great vids! I got one if you're interested: How about arrangement with paracord to hang your phone from a hammock ridgeline to watch your videos while camping! Ideally something that blocks as little of the screen as possible and keeps phone perpendicular to ridgeline/strap. tilt adjustment? lol. Thanks! Edit: HAHAHA You already did that vid! Just found it! Awesome!
Not bad, a shame it doesn't work. Most common brands with drawstring waists stitch the strings into the back; so if tension can't be pulled from both sides you can't tighten them, and no matter how close you get it, it'll pull in a way that loosens itself.
Mine are the same as yours. I just tie the ends together. (I use a knot called a sheet bend. But you can just use and overhand knot, if you prefer.) I put the knot at the tip of the bight when I make this drawstring know shown in the vid. That makes it a sort of marker for tightening and loosening the pants.
This does not work on my sweats for two reasons. The cords on my sweats are highly elastic, fluffy, and don't go all away around. Instead they are two cords. (Well now there are two cords after I cut them.) So here is what I discovered: 1. The knot is almost impossible to dress properly. I tried many times before giving up. What I was left with was something that easily slipped and could not keep my sweats on tightly. 2. This knot assumes the cord goes totally around. Not on my sweats. There is only one cord and each end is sewn into the sweats. This knot only pulls one end. The other cord is fixed in place. What I ended up doing was cutting the cord and using a normal square knot with the bights I've used all my life on the shoes. (It must have a name but I'm too lazy to search for it.) I am hoping you have a better knot that addresses all these issues...
think you could show a tutorial on how to solve my water bottle problem? I've got a 40 fl oz klean kanteen. it's a lovely water bottle but unfortunately it lacks a key feature that I see on nalgene water bottles: a loop that keeps the lid attached to the bottle even when it's been unscrewed. I was wondering if you could show us a knot that could attach my lid to my water bottle so that I don't have to worry about losing it when I unscrew it?

Thank you very much for posting this instructive video. I was about to cut my string, and tie it the traditional way. Now I know. You must have been a boy scout! Lol. Good Stuff! Kudos! Check it Out! Ciao!!!

Good luck with your treatments! I hope they go smoothly and are fully effective! Be well!

OK this is the best knot i'll come by in a long time, and I'm a professional sailor!
Excellent, A+++ videoing and demonstration!
Thanks! I've been fighting these sweat pants for years. Now they no longer present a problem.
I use this knot EVERY day. It's on all of my tracksuit pants and gym shorts. Thanks!
I got lazy with my dress code, but it requires learning this knot to keep my pants on with anything in the pockets. Awesome!
It's like a prusik or taught-line hitch.
Neat !!!
Never thought of that !
Thank you !!!
Keep up the great work !!!
Looks like it might even be loosenable when winter hands are completely numb from playing in the snow a bit too long... awesome!
I have been tying slip knots in my unlooped drawstrings for a while. Now I can do them all.
Nice knot! Well designed and well shown! Thank you!
This guy is a knot genius.
Thank you! This knot helped me keep my sweatpants on.
greatest youtube video ever, thank you
Managed to get it tied with three coils on my outdoor research astro pants. Thanks!
I was ready to throw these pants out from frustration! You literally saved my shorts lol
No kidding, this may be the most useful knot for we with first world issues.
Excellent demonstration! Thank you for posting this. Absolute lifesaver!
You and Project Farm deserve a RUclips Oscar for creating truly useful content.
Sweats and swim suits should come with this knot already in them. Great video.
What I learned from this video is to just cut the string. It’s easier and better in every way ha

Thanks Kevin! Glad you like it.
Absolutely my friend you're always solving problems for me.. simply Genius!
not all heroes wear capes. thanks man
Wow! A useful and unique knot video. I was so hoping it was another video about rabbits, holes and trees.
Awesome application! Looks like this might be a Klemheist knot.
Excellent. I was going to go and buy one of those plastic things that you slip you through, and it clamps with a spring. This works great.
It's a loop with many possibilities. Thank you.
The taught line hitch is in my top five knots I use it as part of a truckers hitch to adjust tension on the fly.
I swear this shii did not help
Yes it does, just all single loops suck.
On God
Looks very similar to a Farrimond/taut line knot, good idea
I never known that knots were so amazing. Thanks for sharing.
Great video I was always confused about these
You are a genius, I always said that
Works very well, thank you!

I just tuck the loop down the front of my shorts.
Lifesaver, thank you 🙏
Your Awesome, thanks!
THIS IS GENIUS!
FANTASTIC:-) Thanks

Excellent video ,very good explanation of how to tie
Much needed.
Thanks!

If you laced your shoes backwards, how would you tie off the lose ends at the base of the shoe?
Hello...I am sending a message from Iran with a filter breaker....please make a video about how to tow a car so that the rope does not break....I learned a lot from your videos...thanks
What kind of rope are you using?
I didn't have the experience of towing until now...I didn't do it at all until now
@@user-yl9cw5ox1v you didn't answer his question. He asked what material and thickness your rope is

😮I worked in stunned
On your slick cordage try it with only 3 wraps. That helps it to bite better.

Nice prussik on a bight. I've seen that done before but doubled to make rope handcuffs.
Best and easiest for this purpose
Always very clever!
Thanks! Nica and easy!
Just in time for sweatpants season.
Work fine for me. Ty
Here is a knot I didn't know I needed until now.
I have a pair of single hole sweat pants and the string came out.
How do I put it back in?!
I love ❤ them
Use a bobby-pin to string it back through
Good teaching
I wish I could purchase a spool of that parallax stuff
gracias siempre quise saber como se podía anudar
Awesome knot 👍🖖😀
The sweats I have for medical appointments have the cord secured by the stitch in the back. The cord won't slide around to do this.
Try tightening up the left side as much as possible while making the knot. With some luck the sides will be relatively balanced in the end.
You can use a quick unpick (sewing accessory) to undo that pesky stitch. Then the string can move freely.
I think I asked for the same! This is great!
Just tried this on my beach shorts, a godsend! Had to pull the left side out as much as I could because the rope is sewn in a seam at the rear.
Quite useful, thanx.
wow!!! very very very useful

I found this too late. I already cut the cord to have 2 ends 😢😭😭😭😭😭
Keep this knot away from NASCAR garages
Any recommendations on laundering the pants with this knot?
Underrated.
Finally I know how to deal with these shorts!
I just cut it and now use the bunny ears method
Thank you. 🥰🥰🥰
Awesome
Hey what do you think about making a Shoulder Dolly (Moving Straps)?
Did you remake/reupload this video? I remember watching it a year or so ago when I first came across your channel!
How would one design a knot for request like you did?
Thank you
maybe tie a handle with additional smaller diameter cordage to loosen the knot
Thanks!
Wow!!!!!!
Can you please make a snow chain alternative... using rope?
550 cord just seems to slide no matter what im doing... and i keep a 3 foot piece of 550 on my desk to practice these knots too.
I just realized he tied a noose
4:25 im just left with 2 loops and my pants are loose and i cant get rid of the other loop
I suppose I'm going to have to wear sweatpants, just in order to be able to use this knot.
Thanks. I'm too old to have my shorts hanging so low that my tighty whiteys are showing. Thanks for covering my azz lol
But what about if you're starting with two ends of string? My shorts and sweatpants have drawstring ends. Not a loop.
Mine are the same as yours. I just tie the ends together. (I use a knot called a sheet bend. But you can just use and overhand knot, if you prefer.)
I put the knot at the tip of the bight when I make this drawstring know shown in the vid. That makes it a sort of marker for tightening and loosening the pants.
Which pants does such a cord have? I have 2 open cords.

should I undo this knot before I wash my sweatpants?
No need to untie it.

@ZipplyZane Not really. All my shorts do not have a single loop string. It’s only when you buy this kind of shorts.
No need to grab for the scissors? That's what I always used to do when they were new! Not anymore with this knot.
So this is how to make a noose?
Does this knot have a name?
