A lovely couple, that i was lucky enough to spend time with at their house on occasion. Both very welcoming almost always with some of Edna's home made cake, and Dennis playing some prank or other on us. A very clever and highly intelligent man, who was often deeply touched by human tragedy.

I had no idea that Denis Healey lived in Alfriston East Sussex, just a short distance from where Jim Callaghan used to live at Ringmer near Lewes.
To find a love like that takes compromise, a thing people are very reluctant to do these days.
