One of the oldest communities in the United States, Salem, Massachusetts holds history of the real fear that Halloween pretends to have. The Salem Witch Trials, a political and religious flex by the Puritan Society resulted in over 200 woman and men being imprisoned or tried for the act of Witchcraft and Possession of the Devil. 19 People (14 women & 5 Men) were put to death by hanging as a result of the trials in one of the most horrific and haunting true stories from American History and naturally created an entire culture around supernatural beliefs and Halloween.
Just a few miles north of Boston, Massachusetts Salem is a historic town with classical colonial streets, homes, and design. Salem has embraced the stigma left behind by the haunting tales of the Salem Witch Trials and brings honor to the lives lost. For the weeks leading up to Halloween, the town comes alive with tourists visiting this amazing Halloween travel Destination. The streets fill up with performers, all forms of costumes from bizarre to realistic, and the unique gift shops build lines outside for folks looking to experience the magic, crystal, and sorcery gift out lets. In addition, the town embraces a magical sense of art and creativity which is fully experienced on Artist Row.
