Rueben , thank you for sharing your trip to Ubud & the monkey sanctuary, brought back some of my most favourite memories! I spent a week there as part of a month long adventure in Bali! I literally went every day ! I witnessed how intelligent & “naughty” the monkeys can be ! Sitting on steps behind a young German couple, a monkey came up behind them & so quickly unzipped the pockets of the young German man’s backpack still on his back & stole his binoculars & scampered up a big tree ! Guards on duty with sticks & slingshots eventually managed to retrieve the binoculars after a very amusing chase !

I only recently discovered you on RUclips & I’ve become a big fan of yours, your videos are always so uplifting & interesting but what shines through is yourself, you are so charming, relatable, clearly passionate about what you are doing ! I’m South African now living in England, so I can so relate to your life in Namibia as I did quite a few long trips to Namibia from Cape Town! What a beautiful country, the landscape just seems to be so vast & as for the endless seeming sky ….

Reuben this is my 3rd comment on your Ubud trip : regarding the monkey sanctuary, I used to walk along the outer path of the fenced in area along to the bigger Ubud commercial centre for necessities, gifts etc : was warned to watch out for monkeys sitting on the perimeter fence coming back with bags etc : I wasn’t “robbed “ of my purchases but a lady in front of me was ! Her whole carrier bag ! This isn’t meant to be a negative response, this just highlights the situation of wild monkeys taking advantage of what they can get since their natural habitat is encroached on by humans! Ubud is still one of my highlights of Bali! As for the locals : how amazing are they ?
