- Today I'll be beating Minecraft But Mining Blocks Spawns Mobs.
This is yet another challenge video from me, I didn't want to make it Hardcore as doing Hardcore in the last video was insane. I wanted something a bit more chill.
This is not an original idea, this concept has been done by numerous creators, the Thumbnail is inspired by Boffy.
I wrote the modern version of this plugin myself.

That zombie using the totem was crazy
He didn't want to die

It actually happened to me in game I was in a dessert village fighting a raid with full inventory as I went to grab the totem I saw a zombie holding it I though killing it would drop it but I quickly found out that's not how it works😭🙏

The totem being using by a Zombie would have been my final straw cause that's some crazy work
@Torchy if the warden doesn’t find a target, he will sniff, and if you are in a 30 block radius of something, it will aggro no matter how quiet you are
I love that they added a stealth segment that’s designed to kill you anyways unless you are on carpet. Quality. It was so exciting when they first added him until everyone realized the devs wasted their time. Nothing worth dying for randomly down there plus it’s horribly unfair. Oh, a 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000001% chance for a single Mending Book I can get guaranteed infinitely from a villager safely? Oh, wow! Such a let down…
@@Zanemob there’s an average of 4 god apples per city and some REALLY cool armour trims, also the portal will have a use at some point. The skulk gives a ton of xp, and there are a ton of cool music discs
@@Zanemob eh I feel like they added the ancient cities for the challenge. And it is a fun challenge and the bonus loot like the sneak book and the enchanted apples make it worth it imo

@JamiraToast not even a challenge once you figure out this easy trick.
Make a little base directly above the ancient city in thr ceiling. Bring a bed some chests and a bunch of night vision. Set respawn drink a night potion and from above you can pretty easily see all the stuff. Leave all your stuff in the chest jump down with a hoe and take out as many sensors and screechors as you can. When you die you re spawn and then drink another night potion. RInse and repeat till its safe then grab all your stuff from the chest and loot every thing
The string farm would have been an infinite wool generator, which you could have used for building blocks without relying on the wither.
Lol I just commented basically that exact same thing! 4 stacks of string = 1 stack of wool!

My worry (& maybe his) was that if he hit the bottom to break it, it would count as him breaking ALL the pieces tumbling down the column.
That would have been a disaster.
@@ZaCloud-Animations___she-herwell it was shown that creepers don’t cause mobs to spawn leaves despawning don’t spawn mobs so I don’t think it will spawn mobs
@@icecream5125 But the game DOES know if a mob or player was even just involved with indirect effects. Example: Death messages specific enough to say things like "Player fell into lava while fighting a skeleton". Or how if you hit a hostile even once while something else kills it, you get enough of an assist credit for their player-kill-only item to drop.
I'm not sure if it works that way with blocks as well; of course it might not. But IF it DOES, knocking down a block which directly causes others to fall could potentially still be credited to the player.
Your given examples might be different; Leaves despawning are super indirect because they're triggered by their own timers. It's the ticks & dice rolls that decide if they disappear or not. And as for a creeper exploding: Even if the player hit the creeper or was just close enough, I'm pretty (but not totally) sure that it's still the creeper's own internal trigger that causes it to explode. And since it's not the creeper itself, but the explosion that destroys the blocks, that puts the player three layers away from the blocks breaking, instead of just two.
As far as I know, it's not Player>Creeper>Blocks breaking
It's at least Player>Creeper>Explosion>Blocks breaking.
(And depending on the programming, there might even be a more indirect routine that puts the player 4 layers away from the blocks breaking. But that I'm even less sure about.)
Chances are, breaking the bamboo WOULD be safe; it's not a mob, so likely goes by much more direct rules. If the block update from the player destroying one block simply triggers a chain of checking for lower blocks, finding air, & thus triggering collapse, & at no point checks for responsibility for that trigger... then yeah, it's probably safe.
But with what few piecemeal things I know about MC's inner workings, there's just enough reason to be cautious anyway, just in case.
If anyone knows for sure, of course they can correct the concern if they come across this discussion.

About the warden managing to "See" you around the 1 hour 5 minute mark, its because it was "angry" enough at you that it can track you no matter what. After enough time its anger level wouldve gone down and it wouldnt be able to track you, nor would it attack you. You can tell its anger score based off the growling sounds it makes as well, but most of the time you should just run, and not try to sneak unless youre within about 16 blocks.
Which is attack as annoying as it is, the range attack of warden is beautiful something Mojang has greatly accomplished imo at least on this aside from their mob vote that is meh.
A Torchy video once a month is like waiting for my paycheck. I feel the same joy too.

I'm deep down in a MC phase atm and have been watching many MC youtubers and I can confidently say you have quickly become one of my favorites. I like how you include parts where things go wrong. It all feels so much more authentic and high stake which keep you on your edge.
Seeing that bamboo sitting pretty while he's mining wood for sticks hurt me deeply.
He is evolving, but sideways. Honestly though, that was a great video to watch. It is great to see you learn the mechanics. I didn't even know about the zombie and totem interaction myself.
You can light creepers with a flint and steel to force them to explode. I'd have started luring creepers to mine trees/ores in the overworld :)
Flowing water breaks crops, so you could have gotten your emeralds from a farmer villager without having to abuse string glitches or break more than one block (the initial seed/carrot). It might actually have been faster! A farmer could also have supplied you with golden carrots.
I love long Minecraft videos so much, thank you for continuing to make them. No video is too long, do not let anyone tell you otherwise.

The string idea was genius. My idea was to use the bamboo to farm sticks, since to gather stacks of bamboo you would only need to break the very bottom block.
Yeah but... What if it still counted as him breaking ALL those blocks at once as they tumbled down? 😨 That would be a disaster.

This was genuinely one of the most unique and fun challenge videos I’ve seen in a long time and it coming from a smaller account blows my mind! Also, *Polar Bears* are neutral, as long as you're not near any cubs. Then they'll behave much like some comments in this video.
Oh yeah, that one Warden was locked in on you because you punched it as it spawned in. They pretty much can "see" whatever that dealt damage to it.

16:45 whenever I forget where I died, I make a copy of the world, go in creative, get a recovery compass, go to where it points, write down the cords, and go there in the real world. It’s a lot of work, but it’s worth it if you had important stuff.

If you just wanted a bunch of sticks, you could just have used that bamboo there to get those. You just need to break the bottom to get a bunch, or if you dont want to you can use a piston to break it and nothing spawns.

Really nice video! Just an advice for the building block problem you could've made a ton of wool with the string duper since you can craft it out of it so there was no need to risk the wither encounter again.

Now we need a x2 speed x50 creeper spawn rate also only creepers. (Aside from essential mobs like blazes ofc) Also all blocks they blow up turn into mobs.
