At least Idia already told Malleus to f off and had his Raven Queen moment by telling him nobody gets to choose a happy ending for him
I might have said this once before about Twisted Wonderland but I'll say it again with more weight to it: Never has a franchise rewarded my investment in a favorite character more than TW! I actually feel extremely inspired by Idia's comeback here; he quite literally freed himself from his own demons and is now poised to challenge Malleus, seemingly without his old fears! Malleus may be my 3rd favorite (or 4th, Ortho tends to fluctuate within the Top 5 for me), but I can't wait to see just what my gold medalist Idia Shroud has in store! I hope he can channel his Overblot and more into the final battle, though I have little doubt that Silver (my 2nd favorite btw) will also be a key to defeating Malleus.

I think it's both. The real Ortho is an innocent kid that was tarnished by phantoms. "Psycho" Ortho is basically a twisted, mean version of Ortho and the kind, compassionate Ortho only slips through sometimes. Think Jekyll and Hyde but Hyde is dominant
