The setlist is kinda nutty for a game that genuinely looks like one of those fake games you’d see the main characters on a sitcom playing in their apartment. SPECIAL MOVE! 🔥🔥
The whole thing about the masters is funny because the same developers did a ton of similar budget DDR clones that also had a lot of master tracks of very known songs, some of which also either showed up on other rhythm games later or never showed up on other ones period, so I guess either them or whoever they got to handle the licensing agreements had some *very* deep connections (and likely very deep pockets too. lol) But man, those covers... the 1985 one I had already seen via the clip you posted on Twitter (MADONNER cracked me up big time), but I was *not* ready for that I Write Sins one, it's so good. I can't wait for the rest.
I remember posting about Rock Revolution thinking that’s what this was during stream. I apologize Acai, also this game made me laugh super hard during Madonner and the Solo Challenge background glitching out.
They fact they made the graphics look like Second Life is admirable Edit: Modern Just Dance games (2016 forward) could not get licensing for Rihanna songs but this game did it rent free
Exy, there's some good things out there in SL. Very few of them, but they exist. This looks like the clone of a clone of a clone game someone would have made for a TV setting lmao
I'm still completely blown away that they got a master of MISERY BUSINESS and managed to do the song like that. The mixing sounds like someone's first foray into Ableton Live. This game is not real at all
My take: If this was instead an early pre-GH1 prototype made as a pitch to publishers to get approval to develop GH1, we probably would have been regarded this as a decent game. Sorta in the same way Dragon King was a prototype to Smash Bros. It’s as if that were the case in an alternate universe and it somehow leaked into ours after World Tour came out
This is exactly like one of the original guitar hero pc clones that I believe was just called GHPC Clone. An old project that died, and I can't find it anywhere. Been looking for it forever lol. Same with an old browser based guitar hero clone that died. It was live service and I can only remember an old Dirty Heads song from the library. Love watching your videos and streams. Brings me WAY back to when I first got GH1 Christmas of '05 and fell into an obsessive rabbit hole with all of these titles!
This is *absolutely* Uncanny Valley material. It looks like some cheap Flash knockoff in every way, yet it's perfectly functional, and got legitimate masters for it. Side note: *Man,* they sure did keep the PS2 library going a very long time.
According to Wikipedia, the studio that made this are from the UK (which is probably why no-one's heard of this game). I can only apologise on behalf of my country
Never thought I'd see a 5 fret game that somehow makes the PS2 ports of World Tour onwards look like masterfully crafted games (even though Metallica, Smash Hits, 5, and Band Hero also only ran at 30fps)
The small jolt of excitement I had when I saw Anna Molly became hilarious the minute I heard the lead singer say the first line. It really does suck that any Incubus song didn’t make it to any GH or RB game. Freaking hilarious video, though.
uh, we did got Incubus as DLC I think? Drive was in GHWT as DLC then Pardon Me was on RB3 as DLC edit: I totally forgot we got Stellar too in GH1 and Smash Hits, and there's plenty more Incubus songs released throughout RB3 DLC cycle
@@zildziannanda5453 I wouldnt know since Im not too educated on GH or RB aside from the 1st and 2nd RB. Funny how I love music games but know very little about the genres two biggest rock games. But good to know. I love Incubus. I'll keep a lookout for those games. Thanks for the info.
I was gonna say something about how Chuck E. Cheese did a "1985" cover that was great (and this cover here is NOT LMAO), but some digging led me to find out that the guy singing in that segment is the LEAD SINGER OF BOWLING FOR SOUP Thank you Acai for making me retread my memory for that
this shit might be an electronic game that involves interaction with a user interface or input device to generate visual feedback from a display device, such as a television set, computer monitor, or handheld device.
If a game like this is going to resort to cover versions, then it's important that the musical direction is good. If you listen to the "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" ending, you can hear that guy has no trouble with that high note, so it's a fair assessment to say he can sing. But the verses sound strange, so I wonder what happened there.
bless the guy in chat who said "this is one weird bowling strike animation"
8:20 btw
Acai screaming "HE USED THE HARD R" at a Bowling for Soup cover is the funniest thing.
It’s actually insane how they got Rihanna and Paramore masters on this along with other songs like how
"We're looking to license your song for a guitar based rhythm game."
"Oh, Guitar Hero?"
"Like Guitar Hero, yes"
@@Glulail nah this is actually funny as hell because it’s probably EXACTLY how it went down 😂😂😂
They used 90% of the budget for the licensing
The secret ingredient is crime
"Since Bruce Springsteen, Madonner, way before Nirvaner"

SPECIAL MOVE! 🔥🔥
This is some La Rosa de Guadalupe stuff
Even South Park made their fake Guitar Hero look somewhat like the real thing.
Bruce Springsteen ☝️🤓
Madonner ☝️🤓
Way before Nirvaner ☝️🤓

Everyone who made fun of the WaveGroup version of "Heart-Shaped Box" needs to apologize right now.
I actually like that version 😂
@@samireland54I do too but it does sound like the bassist sang it.

I did not know shut up and drive was a Rihanna song, i actually thought it was an original song from wreck it Ralph

12:16 Brandon? This is Marvin Urie. You know that fresh sound you're looking for? Well, listen to this Anxiety At The Square Dance song!
I hope these charts get ported over to Clone Hero

we all do

Can you make yourself screaming "BOOOOOM" everytime you get the pyro to go off a sub alert? Thanks John Guitar Hero
who's 1985ing their M'donner rn?
I'm Nirvannering so hard rn
I thought that Rock Revolution had the worst sounding covers and yet here we are living in 1985
That 1985 cover-cover sounded like it was sang by memory after hearing it once, that fuckin killed me😂
its crazy how many masters they got into this game
I'm glad they managed to get the master for 1985
We all know the best way to play this is with that freak of a Wii controller sleeve with 4 frets.
I don’t even know if that gimmick saves this hot garbage
@@acai28 Nothing can save this horror!
I lost my mind when the full song for I Write Sins ended before the post-chorus because how do you let that error go through the final draft
Bowling for Soup "Master" ❌
Rihanna Master ✅✅✅✅
I'm obsessed with the 1985 cover. The fact the singer isn't even consistent with saying Madonna with an R makes it feel like a mistake they left in

Why do I feel like this game is solely the reason WHY the songs you pointed out never showed up in the actual Rock Band/Guitar Hero games? lol
I tuned in to this stream right as 1985 was starting. I must be the luckiest man alive
i got this game on wii when i asked my parents for gh. never been so dissappointed

Need to play Guitar Praise next
This game came out the day I was born.
To be fair, the Bowling for Soup impression wasn't even that bad XD. That's kinda just what he sounds like

That cover of Bowling for Soup at 16:00 man.
I wheezed so hard I got dizzy and had to sit down
this game looks like shovelware, the default arial font really does it for me
13:00 They really said "We'll just do the one take before you get a chance to use your asthma inhaler", breath control who?
Now you gotta FC it at 125% speed.
The Sins Not Tragedies cover is awful, but props to them for not censoring "goddamn" in a pop-centric game lol

this game could pass as one of those plugin tv games
I have never laughed this hard in a while hearing him scream "BOOM" every time he uses star power

I actually prefer my soup more nasally
1985 sounds like if Debbie was the one singing it.
