  • The ceremonial groundbreaking for the Rehabilitation of Brgy. Talacagay - Brgy. Bacuyangan - Brgy. Damutan Farm-to-Market Road with Bridge took place on September 25, 2024 in Hinobaan, Negros Occidental. This project, under the Department of Agriculture's Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP), aims to improve the livelihoods and market access for farmers, fishers, and residents of Hinobaan.
Key officials from the Provincial Local Government of Negros Occidental, the Municipal Local Government of Hinobaan, and the DA, including DA Assistant Secretary for Operations U-Nichols Manalo, were present for the event.
The 24.475-kilometer FMR, which includes a 30-meter bridge and costs Php513.3 million, is projected to boost real farm incomes for beneficiaries by 5%, raise the value of annual marketed output by 7%, and increase agricultural production area by 40%.
This PRDP Scale-Up subproject will particularly benefit coconut, rice, corn, banana, and coffee farmers in the barangays of Talacagay, Bacuyangan, and Damutan in Hinoba-an.
