It was, but one of the leaders (the project had 3 during it's development, when one cancelled the project another took the project) decided to release the levels he made

Why are the graphics so realistic?

This is just some constructive criticism for the dev of this hack. Why was the second level called 1-3 and the tower level called 7-Tower (ew)? What, was the tower level in Acorn Plains stripped from this hack's version of Meringue Clouds' tower level and so there are two 7-Tower (ew) levels? If this hack is really meant to be an "Evolution" or sequel of New Super Mario Bros. U the dev should've at least come up with names. I'm no mod creator and I know coming up with new ideas is difficult, but that detail alone kind of lowers the quality/polish of the hack in my opinion. It's not much of an evolution if the names of the levels make no sense. And if you can't think of any interesting names, then stick with the 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, etc. nomenclature instead of having random names that again make no sense.
The game was canceled, so the developer made an incomplete version from the levels that were created. As a result, I think the levels are mixed up.
