Wild child. We had an injured coyote pup in NM, so we got him care and shots, kept him safe for 6 weeks in his cast, fattened him up and let him loose. He hesitated, looked back at us, as if he didn't want to go, but we told him to go and be free, and he did. Thank you for giving Scooter such great care. It's obvious that he's grateful, and so are we. The biologically illiterate see them as pests when in reality they are assets.

Typically, coyotes have a higher pitched voice and their howls are usually interspersed (or broken up) with a combination of yips, yaps, and barks. They're so fascinating and honestly I think they're more interesting than wolves. They're just so versatile and adaptable in comparison.

Even when he has the "i will eat you look", he's such a beautifull animal! I really appreciate how you really care about this special animal and how you inform people about coyotes. i hope soon more and more people realise what a beautyfull creature it so the endless hunting and killing wil stop!
Coyotes are fascinating. The ultimate survivors. With open seasons and bounties, they should be damn near extent, yet this predator/scavenger is thriving coast to coast and border to border. I think I read recently there were more coyotes in the US than ever. Still they seem to have an affinity to humans. Fascinating.
Poor abused Scooter. All the love and care you give him...my, my, what trials and tribulations he has to endure! Watching him allow you to touch his throat at all, a show of trust that is remarkable, was just amazing to see. Watching you pin his ears back is a hoot. That he lets you do so without complaint is quite a compliment from a coyote. Thanks for sharing him with us. Everyone should have a Scooter in their life.
I have a Yakutian Laika and they are a very ancient breed. They sound like coyotes when they howl in a pack. Happy Birthday Scoot-Scoot!! Many happy and healthy more years to you, lad!
