  • At the beginning of the 20th century, the Spaso-Preobrazhenskoe cemetery was located within the boundaries of the garden. At the end of 1970, the Lomonosovskaya metro station, located on the Nevsko-Vasilievskaya (green) line, was opened on the square of the future garden.
Officially, the Lomonosov Garden in St. Petersburg opened only in October 2011. The event is dedicated to the birthday of the great Russian scientist M.V. Lomonosov (November 19, 1711). In his honor, 19 young maples were planted along the central alley. And hidden in the ground on the territory of the park is a time capsule with an appeal to descendants.
