This is album of the year for me so far. Personally I think Tilian will probably stay due to him going back out on the road with them, and Andrew Wells has stated before that he wouldn't be main for dgd. 9.7/10 album for me
Jackpot Juicer has ZERO skips. They've gotta switch it up after this album. It's peak Tillian era DGD. I would say there's no topping it, but this IS topping it.
@@DoNotPassGO bro aint got a good chorus, the instrumentals are just basic hard dgd, no substance like on any other Secret Band esque DGD song, decent intro is way too short, Decent Andrew Wells part is too short, all the boring parts are too long. Yeah that sums up my argument
The fact that you liked Afterburner that much but havent listened to any of their previous albums... man you would be in love. Tbh, Afterburner is very low on my DGD's albums ranking. Mothership is in my top 5 albums of all-time. And Jackpot Juicer became my second favorite DGD album and its actually really close to Mothership. If you have time somedays, just dive in completely and listen to all of the albums in order. Its a journey. JJ is probably the album that represent DGD overall sound the most and is a really great mash-up of all their albums in one. IMO.
Afterburner is AWESOME when you want this era of DGD in its cleanest form. But I agree that JJ is a good mash-up of albums musically (missing a Secret Band ft Tilian song tho, also missing Swan rapping). There were songs that I swear could've been at home on DTBM2, Happiness, etc.
As a huge DGD fan I loved this album. There were times in songs that reminded me of Instant Gratification - this whole thing felt like a culmination of all their previous work over the last 4ish albums. Easily a favorite of mine
I enjoy Andrew's vocals but he is very different from Tillian. I would love to hear them continue to share duties with Tillian as the primary clean and Andrew doing occasional.
As someone who started listening to DGD with "Acceptance Speech" back in 2013, I'm sure you're going to find a lot of bangers if you decide to listen to their previous records. Every vocalist has brought something unique/different to this band.
Was at a dgd show the other day in Orlando, Florida and off to the side, there tilian was vibing backstage. So I think he’s touring with them, just not singing right now. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s back for their album tour. Idk though…
@@JacobAndrues I mean they’re having the Tour With Friends right now with Andrew on lead and Kurt featuring so they’re just having fun. People said they saw Tilian backstage on some of these shows. So if I had to guess, they’ll have a Jackpot Juicer tour with Tilian back on lead sometime after this tour right now.
As a big dgd fan this is a lot better than afterburner and i like it more than artificial selection and it is up there for me with mothership. Every song is so good
This album impressed me a lot. And while I think TIlian is probably gonna stay for at least one more album, Andrew Wells has already clearly made his mark in the lead vocals department. He's been killing it on the Evening With Friends tour, subbing Tilian's highs for his own Sam Carter-style screams, which fit really well. Whatever route they go down, the next DGD album is gonna be even more wild.
Played this album a couple times already and never skipped once. Every song is a banger which is why I didn't mind the length. It's my favorite DGD album and easy AOTY.

Andrew has expressed in the past that he doesn’t have an interest in becoming lead vocals. But, he also didn’t think he wanted to be a full time member so 🤷♂️
It took me a few playthroughs but i'll say its a top 3 album from them. 18 songs and not one I skip, which is saying something when even Mothership has a song I skip. Time will tell if it stays as good, I thought Afterburner was top 3 until a few months after i realized i hadn't spun after the first few weeks
Took the words out of my mouth. I'm a huge DGD fan, but I will say this album took a few listens to fully marinate for me. I absolutely love it now, especially the softer songs for whatever reason
Legally? No - he had two big allegations, and one of them was essentially proven false. But realistically yes - the other allegation he basically admitted to (as much as he could without opening himself up to a disproportionate legal response). He's not going to jail or anything, but he clearly had issues understanding the situations he was in - even though it might have been because of grief and booze - doesn't matter. If he is coming back to DGD, I'm hoping he's got his issues all worked out so that it doesn't become serialized behavior like a lot of dudes in the rock scene.
