As mentioned in the stream, words cannot express the amount of antics I went through just to film the DAF ALX400. Seriously. One day it would've broken down before I arrive, run a few services in the morning or just, not run at all. It was a wild goose chance for a bus type more rare than atoms of gold. If only I had bothered filming these back in the day...
Anyway, I don't have any other bus sound comparisons planned. Normal train videos shall resume shortly :)

Kudos for the DAF ALX defo, I didn't even think they were running anymore (at least in public service).
DT2 always for me - especially for those beastly Cummins engines (ISBe series in particular). I miss em in Glasgow. They were phased out by Firstbus in October 2021 in time for the COP26 summit.

I didn't even know First had the tridents in the first place. I thought all of theirs were Volvo's. And thanks for the appreciation for the DAF too. Twenty years old and still running. Well just.

@@MaverickHunterDaniel We did have President-bodied B7TLs up until recently, some sold, most off to be witnessed in scrap valhalla - same for the tridents.
      32300-32305 last B7s
      33120 + 33358-33374 last DT2s
All of em were new to First London. Our '54 plate Gemini B7TLs have up until the end of the year til they mate their fate.

I prefer the trident engine, I am more familiar with it and it sounds nicer.

Doesn't matter about the sound..... what really matters is the noxious fumes spouting out the rear when it's basically holding up other traffic. I hate buses, mobile roadblocks that are driven by morons........ especially the ones in Edinburgh, seems to be that the Highway Code doesn't apply, no indicators, pull out into traffic, don't give way, block junctions, and then there's the exhaust fumes - - - every bus seems to spout clouds of smoke (and I'm not kidding)

Every type of vehicle, nay, industry where vehicles are used has their fair share of bad emission complience and bad drivers. I will never deny that, but don't say "every" when electric buses exist and are more common than ever.

Most buses are still more eco-friendly than if everybody on that bus drove a car instead.
