Emmy's voice sounds even younger and more unique now! This was very good at 15 and MeMaw loved it!
She was not the least bit nervous onstage back then. At least it didn’t show. I think she felt safe next to her MeMaw.

I miss talking to Miss Loretta. I talked to her the night before she passed away. When Patsy hit me up and thanked me for talking to her mom the night before made me feel a little better but not much ad Emmy is taking right after her meemaw

I’ve been watching American idol and I won’t lie I was disappointed McKenna was sent home before Emmy BUT after finding this clip this kid in this video has something… I wish she’d just let loose I feel like if this is actually her then her original work is so much better than what I’ve seen of her on American idol. This kid in this video is play on repeat her voice was so calming and like she wasn’t thinking about it she needs to not think about it on idol now
I agree. When I videoed this in 2015, she wasn’t the least bit nervous. If she was it didn’t show. I think she found comfort in knowing her “MeMaw” was right beside her. Plus back then she was probably doing the same 2 songs every night so, it was “old hat” for her. Now she is in a competition that pushes everyone out of their “safe place” to see how versatile they are while at the same time trying to polish their wheelhouse. The only thing I don’t like is that the judges always say it was good even when they are off that night. They should point out where they need work. In a tactful way. Not to the extreme of Simon but nonetheless it should not be glossed over. Simon was extreme in his method but I would rather have a judge shoot me straight early in my career so that I can be better for it. He was rude but he was usually correct in what he said.

I hear some Loretta in her tone but, she has a style of her own. That’s a good thing because if she didn’t, everyone would make her into a Loretta Lynn cover singer. That’s what they tried to do to Hank Jr. but he was determined to tune out the noise of that and be what he was. He definitely paid tribute to his father and used his father’s legacy to gain popularity but in the end he did his thing. I think Emmy will do likewise. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. She has the talent and unique voice to make it but, America Idol has exposed her to millions in a short time. It doesn’t hurt to pour a little gas on the fire to get things moving faster. At this point, regardless of if she wins, she’s got the momentum and exposure to make it now.
There are many established singer some who have even had albums who are on the show. Emmy deserves to be there as much as anyone. I hope she wins.

U don't understand the difference between sitting next to your great grandmother in front of a couple thousand people and spending 6 months in front of 100 talented contestants and a few million internet critics?
Certain celebrities have stage fright even singer Adele has it among others. They’re like normal people like the rest of us and have similar fears etc.
@@jh-is8nq This is not her first time in front of a crowd. She’s been on the Grand Ole Opry several times, multiple concerts, she even did videos before. I guess that it never get easy for some people.
Elvis Presley even suffered stage fright. He constantly reminded his band that every performance was a new audience that paid good money to see the show, every show had a new vibe, and you never knew what may happen. He never wanted to let his fans down.
