Wow! That was a crazy few hours with disappearing people and medical emergencies! I love how you do Disney…so refined yet full of fun. That’s the way I’d like to do it… The decorations do look lovely all round the ship… And oh Jen that blue Lily Silk dress looked so good on you…fab-u-Los…girl.👍👍👍 Loved it all…👍🇬🇧
It was great seeing Andrea again. We were on the westbound transatlantic cruise that reached Fort Lauderdale on 11/2 and he was being trained during that cruise. He ..was assisting at both our Palo brunch and dinner. I’m glad to see that he survived training.
In November while the Fantasy was docked in Castaway when we saw a helicopter circle the ship. Apparently someone had a pretty serious medical emergency and had to be airlifted. Big reason to buy travel insurance. I also loved Lookout but not the lines for food or lack of tables in the adults area. We were sitting on a wall eating and this nice lady and her husband asked us to join them at their table. lol
Eleuthera is our fav place in the world. yes the world lol The Disney port makes us sad, but realize as with everything, there is good and bad. Atlanta has direct flights to Eleuthera where you can rent a car and really see the beauty of the island. The beauty of it has always been that it's not touristy and commercialized. I hope they can keep a good balance of that. It's just my fav place... in case I didn't mention that already lol
My mom recently had a medical issue when my parents were on a Princess cruise (she is fine). They were extremely impressed with the staff that helped them in the medical area plus those getting them and their things off the ship and to the hospital. It makes them feel even better about cruising in their late 70s because they know they will be taken care of by excellently trained staff. I assume Disney staff is the same.
We just got off the Dream yesterday for our 5-Night Thanksgiving cruise. We also had a "weird" 2nd night in the ship where there was a "red party" emergency that freaked everyone out for about 30 mins. But the sailing was fine and we had a lovely time, per usual. Moana 2 premiered on our cruise and we had a great Thanksgiving dinner. Had the sole at Palo on Sunday night and the amaretto souffle for dessert. 😊
I have looked at Lily Silk wrap dress on their website and should admit I would not be attracted by it if I would not see it on you! It fits you so beautifully so I am now thinking whether to buy it too, a bit pricey (I am in UK so UK converted prices), but I have got a similar body type and now I want it 🤩
So they are an expensive brand, no question, and I honestly haven't found EVERYTHING to be great quality but the two silk dresses I own are exceptional. Absolutely an investment piece!
We just got back from our Disney Dream cruise and your comment about chafing is on point - I had swim shorts on but still chafed so bad! We liked LP but prefer Castaway. BUT, we did an excursion on LP (Bahama Bank Boat Escape) and had an absolute blast! Highlight of our trip!
@@JoyfulLivingwithJenLefforge I scoured the internet for reviews on it - surely some influencer has done it right? NOTHING - I couldn't find anything. I almost cancelled, but I am so glad I didn't because we had SO much fun. The guys (and one girl) that led the excursion made it amazing. We saw the most beautiful fish, coral, and even a stingray. I hope they get some kind of marketing out about it because it was 100% worth the money.
The towel animal is Davey Jones just in case you wanted to know. The dover sole is my favorite at Palo! Hope everything turned out good for the people with the medical emergency
I had a death on one of our cruises. Happened in the dining room. Unless you were seated next to that table, you would have never known. It was at breakfast so not a main dining room the crew members handled it really really well
We went on the Icon of the Seas and a family lost their Father who had dementia. We were docked in Cozumel. Unfortunately I don’t believe he was ever found. We stayed in port I think about 2 hours after we were supposed to depart. The family stayed on the island. Also, we were nice n the fantasy, we had a sea day and the next day was Castaway. Our ship was the closest vessel to an SOS call from a small sailboat down in the carribean. We detoured to answer the call, took onboard the hurt or sick passenger, we never were privileged to the information, and the next day because we were so off course were two hours past our arrrival time to castaway. Inconvenient, but worth it to help someone.
That has happened in a few of my Disney sailings. Sometimes things happen. One time we were out to sea and had to go all the way back to the Bahamas because of a medical emergency. The boat was moving so fast. Hey Jen would love to do a solo cruise when you a sailing solo. Sometimes it’s nice to travel knowing someone on the boat. 😊
I have another year to wait for my cruise to lighthouse point it looks so beautiful and I can't wait to see the Junkanoo in person. Also, I hope they did show Muppets Christmas Carol. It's my favorite Christmas movie and I just watched it this past weekend while decorating my tree. Can't wait for the sea day vlog.
My wife and I were on our first DCL this past April on the Fantasy. during the sailing the US Coast Guard had to medevac a guest during our day at sea. It was an interesting experience to say the least, and everyone on the ship was praying for the family / leaving extra pixie dust for them
I think you were on this sailing just before or while we were on the Fantasy (Nov. 10-16)! It was our first Very Merrytime cruise & I loved every minute of it. I enjoyed Lighthouse Point (it was our 1st visit), but I wore Crocs and they were wet when we were walking back to the ship. Unfortunately, I got a blister on my foot 😥So, I will make sure they are dry when walking next time. Learned a lesson the hard way that day! Anywho, I have really enjoyed these vlogs as I have PDCB (Post Disney Cruise Blues). But we will be on the Treasure in May 2025! 🤩
Honestly? I just leave them in my beach bag. I’ve never had an issue. You can get waterproof wallets to wear around your neck? I didn’t take my credit cards or anything so really it was just my passport (and I could have just brought my drivers license that would be easy to replace should it go missing)
@@JoyfulLivingwithJenLefforge I just wondered. I never go in the ocean, myself I wish I were more comfortable in the water. Thanks. Also, I love the new blue dress! 😍
A friend was on a Disney Cruise a little over a year ago. There was a passenger who had a medical emergency while in port. They delayed leaving and it put them back over eight hours. Everyone was given free wifi in case they had to change flights or plans. Glad you didn't have to deal with that!
It's really amazing it doesn't happen more often with that many people. I never heard anything about it afterwards and am really hoping it wasn't serious!
@@JoyfulLivingwithJenLefforge We had a medical emergency on one of our disney cruises. Some one had a heart attack early in the morning. We were all woken up around 7 am with shipwide announcements.
