    The benefit of buying from the brand is that you can buy from ANY boutique and it will count for your profile. Previously - if I had a great profile with an AD in Singapore, then move to Dubai, I start at zero again.

    Tudor Bronze is a Boutique edition too - I am pretty sure it might come to Rolex soon as well....

    It’s been a year. Thought I’d comment looking back. I got so tired of the stupid games, that I gave up waitlists, and hold times, and purchase history after not even trying very hard. Just walked into an Omega/Rolex/Patek AD tried to buy two watches, was told each was out of stock, and backordered. Was told no timeline to get more, was then told to put down money on one, and maybe in 8 months one will come in. Did, then now four weeks later I own a Longines, a Grand Seiko, and looking to get my money back on the Omega PO wait list to buy the third and final watch from GS. I just don’t care anymore. Let people play games, but I’ll not join in.

      I honestly can’t believe there’s waitlist for omega, like let’s be real, omega is mid tier at best. When I got the speedy, i literally walked in and walked out with a watch at discount. This was about 9 years ago. It’s ridiculous they are doing this now.

    Totally agree. I just hate hype and stupid PR strategies. I’m actually thinking to not buy any watches no more…

    Yes! JLC started to do Boutique only watches last year. They stopped providing the colored Reversos in my NYC AD and I don’t know what else in the future they intend to move to Boutique only. It’s really unfortunate as I already have a good relationship with my AD and solely buy from them. So as these watch brands keep shifting to this model I think they’ll lose potential customers.

      Oh I didn‘t know that. That‘s unfortunate because I also wanted to add a JLC to my collection.

    Your experience at the Lange boutique is ridiculous.

      Well, it‘s getting common nowadays… let‘s hope this changes one day

    I personally don't disagree with what lange is doing. It is quite ridicoulus that you have to buy the watches from the boutique but the idea it self is good I think. Even if it was made for greedy reasons there will be less flippers now.

    • @davidzed7952
      @davidzed7952  2 года назад

      Yeah if it reduces the flippers it would be a reasonable action but it’s just so upsetting for collectors that don‘t have the money to spend

    Solution.. buy Seiko. While it's no Rolex, you can wear it anywhere without worry and buy many others too for the same price.

    • @davidzed7952
      @davidzed7952  2 года назад

      Yeah, I get that point, but many people including myself do care about the brand of the watch and while I love Seiko a watch is sometimes a statement for some people

    • @mtbkmaniac1
      @mtbkmaniac1 2 года назад

      @@davidzed7952 I understand that as well. I only have brand trust. I have nice watches not seiko as well. I honestly have no experience with Rolex. I want to feel that experience, but not the price. I always looked for features regardless of brand. I've had this Xezo air commando automatic eta gmt for 16 years. I just had it rebuilt. It has been a reliable work, dive and travel watch. It was minus 7 seconds for all that time and now it's plus 7 after rebuild. It was $500 in 2006. Maybe it's worth more now. But I didn't break my bank to purchase it. However, it's no Rolex and no one has ever said "nice watch!" Like they did with my Direnzo DRZ-02! that was a winner! It was originally about $500 but one sold recently for $1250 on ebay. Wish I could share pictures.

    dont give anything on black-market, Boutique only, limited to 500 or all this new marketing strategies for overpriced watches. I'm willing to order the watch I want from a authorized dealer and waiting for 4-6 month to get it. Thats it. All brands falling out this raster are not of any interest, should they offer their "treasures" to their black-market customers spending a few hundred thousend every year for 20 watches out their lineup. For shure they wear them all every day... :D. Who the heck needs more than 1 same new watch every one or two years. Usually a mechanical watch works longer than a year. Times will change, may be in 10 years nobody can remember about people wearing mechanical watches just laughing about looking at their wrist computers.

      Yeah I agree with you. So unfortunate this greedy business. The only thing we can do is not supporting this business.
