    That was one brutal race. I started racing harescrambles this year. So far this is the toughest one. I see I finished my 3rd lap 2min and 30sec behind you, and I was so happy I don't need to do another lap. My time was 3:00:24 😅 I am impressed how you recovered after the rut, and still able to make a 4th lap.

    Mad respects, job well done! I'm 52 now, been riding MX my whole life, raced in my teen-age yrs & rode most my adult life with about 15yr break until last yr. I'm slowly getting back into it, I bought a 22 Suzuki RM-Z450 (my 1st Suzuki & 4 stroke, always rode YZ's & 1 CR250) which I love, it has all the power I'd ever need, it handles the trails like a gem, turns on a dime, getting the suspension correct is the toughest part. The kick start thing isn't an issue for me as I haven't been spoiled with electric start, so I don't know what I'm missing lol. They kick easy & start on 1 kick warm.
    Anyway, my reason for giving all that info is, do you think I could ride that bike on these scrambles?

    • @Captain250FX
      @Captain250FX  9 месяцев назад +2

      This race was the tightest race of the season and would have been a nightmare on a 450. There are a few guys racing 450’s. Most of what I see are 250, 350, and 300 two strokes.

    I've never ridden their hare scrambles but I have ridden their enduros. They basically set up the course the same way they would an enduro, which I don't agree with. I guess my mentality is that hare scrambles should allow more active passing, so it should be wider in a lot of areas and not as long. Enduros should be mostly single track with some opens.

      There is always a way! I didn’t start riding till I was 38 and started racing at 45. This is my second year racing and I’m turning 46 in a month. You could always look for a good used one and ride with your kids!

    • @Stozy1975

      Same thing here - I am 48 now, got on a motorcycle for the first time at 40, started racing at 46. This is my first year racing hare scrambles. All I can say is, I wish I've started earlier - I can't get enough of it. I have been riding every weekend since trails cleared the snow enough :-) My kids are teenagers now, but both ride. My advice- don't wait. Tomorrow is not guaranteed. Get that bike you are dreaming for, and get riding. There is nothing better than a day of riding with your kids.
