I've been actually poor for too much of my life to want to " look poor"! Designer goods are a rip off but when you can afford them it's not wrong to want better quality clothes that will last a long time. Natural fibres will keep you cool in summer and warm in winter, unlike a $7000 pair of designer polyester pants.
Good point. I actually have far too much stuff and can see how much money I've wasted on unnecessary things over the years (gadgets / electronics / clothes etc). I've really been enjoying going around the house de-cluttering and sticking stuff on ebay, there is something very liberating about being minimalist and de-cluttering.
In the US, you will be persecuted and scapegoated if you are a minimalist and not consuming materialism and media. Sometimes you will be looked down upon and will be difficult to make friends and be respected by people. That is one downside of being a minimalist and not consuming things. Family will soon look down upon you for being cheap. Hence, why in the US it is difficult to be a minimalist.
Quite possibly the most offensive title I've come across. Poor? Being minimalist doesn't mean being poor, neither does meditating or being less materialistic. Poor is not some sort of lifestyle choice. Being poor means not being able to afford to heat your home, to feed your kids. That's what being poor is. Poor as a look? I'm sorry, this is a horribly offensive video.

@@JoeBloggs777 100% agree with you- It takes a weight off when you do a clear out!
I personally have less items and do feel much better about this.
Everyone is different of course but yes I agree- having less 'stuff' helps to clear the mind!
Great video! Keep it up!
Thanks, much appreciated!
I’m a digital nomad and I live out of a suit case and so I wear the exact same outfits all year around 😅

It's difficult to be a minimalist if your ego is tied to your things.
