Changing divisions and/or schools and winning has to be almost impossible in today's coaching. New stadiums, different teams and types of play, different coaches and styles. At a minimum you are probably looking at 3 seasons just to be comfortable. Unfortunately most coaches are only given a couple years. I believe Joe Paterno lost his first 5 years at Penn State. And he only survived because he had a President who refused to fire him. Can you imagine getting away with that today?

Where did you find this information?
      Year 1: 5-5
      Year 2: 8-2-1
      Year 3: 11-0
      Year 4: 11-0
      Year 5: 7-3
Lincoln Riley ain't no Joe PA.

@@lindencamelback2305 Thanks for sharing your comments. There is some adjustment to style of play, travel, and environment, and while it’s noticeably different from PAC12 play, I still feel a USC team in proper form should either have won all the games they’ve lost, or at least be 3-1. USC won’t beat an Ohio State or Oregon (or now perhaps Indiana), but they should be playing more competitively, which at least from a USC fan perspective, is disappointing.

@@SoCalFootballTalk Changes are always fraught with uncertainly, but I am sure within several years USC will, as always, be not only one of the most successful teams in the B1G or the nation as they have always been.
Can't wait to cheer against them when they play Penn State in the future.
