@@AaronNickolas7 i think it was something like a freak accident. I think regardless if all protocols and anticipatory measures are taken things unexpected and tragic can still occur. Im in a lot of shock too because he does this all the time and is very safe with it.
@@Meganaparker the family has finally issued a statement stating that he simply lost his footing and fell. There was nothing anyone could do. Rescue came immediately, but unfortunately, my guess is he died on impact because resuscitation was not successful.

Maybe Zion needs to stop having people climb the most dangerous area of the park. I'm just in shock and horrid in the loss of Justin. He was such a great guy all around. My thoughts and prayers will be with Lindsey and the kids,his mom,all his siblings and families. Including the entire community and his friends who were with him. I can't begin to imagine what they are going through. Rest in peace, Justin. You will be missed.
zion is not having people climb the most dangerous area, we choose to climb the most dangerous areas. Zion is courteous enough to make sure the anchors we use are safe. We shouldn't put restrictions on nature because of the mishaps or negligence of others. That's like saying we should reduce the max speed of cars because someone's accident.

Sorry to be cold, but if I had 4 children to think about, this would not be an activity I'd choose to do. In fact, I have 3 children and passed on all kinds of activities..just in case..
@Belibra14 probably not..but I'm definitely practital when it comes to making choices about risky activities, especially when I had young children. I had this conversation a lot with their father.
People need to take risks more seriously. I especially feel for poor Lindsay and Ava. Lindsay has lost her soulmate and Ava will grow up without her Daddy. I hate this so much💔 Cheap thrills hurt when they go wrong. So wrong😭

the problem with people these days is they dont have the experience, and if something goes bad they call for help to get bailed out, the govt should stop bailing these people out and this goes for hikers, climbers. I was doing angels landing and got to a place I didnt feel good I turned around and went back know when to not do something
He had experience he actually did this successfully many times. It was a freak accident something went wrong that was not supposed to. He had a license for it and training

Yes he and his brother Sean have both been doing this for years. He just climbed Mount Rainier about a year ago with friends of his.
