I think it’s better to work on a large game you are passionate about rather than a small game that you don’t have the drive to finish anyway. So good for you!
It looks beautiful! I've been working on a RPG game as a hobby for about a year now, more off than on. I am LOVING what you're showing, and can feel all the work that has already gone into this. If you want to share tutorials on how you created it - working on movement, layering sprites, how you map out your plan - any and all of that would be so interesting to watch! I hope we can expect see updates :)
Thanks for this comment. I think my fear of over scoping prevented me from making games in a way. I just accepted the fact that my first "real" game will either not be good or not be finished. Just want to start working on it and learn from it.
@@jamie_dev I was similar, kept wasting time and detouring to little projects cause I didn't want to overscope, but it's silly cause we don't know what we can do until we do it. I'm glad you were able to start and thank you for sharing with us
I'm on a team of two just learning how to code and start our first game design documents. Good luck! I love the theme and style of your game so far, I'm excited to see more!
It’s wonderful to see you sound so passionate about your work ❤ it’s a really good way of looking at it, the orchestration of music, graphics, story telling etc. You could have the most dazzlingly beautiful game in terms of graphics, just for it to be let down by less-than-good choice of music of poor dialogue. Your dilemma about technology and climate change really resonates with me. I, too, wanted the latest and greatest technology - the best PC I could possibly build, fancy kitchen gadgets, graphics tablets, the whole nine years. Now I find myself looking at my smartphone and thinking, is this overkill? I start to miss the good ol’ days of 5 TV channels, a games console, and a radio as my sources of technology; arranging to hang out with friends meant going to their house, or calling their landline. Despite that, I still love working in technology; I guess I’m now more conscious - more mindful - of how the growth of technology is affecting the planet. It’s reassuring that there are other technology enthusiasts out there who are also looking to be more climate-mindful. Awesome content, as always!
Wishing you the very best! I truly appreciate your exceptional teaching skills, captivating storytelling abilities, impressive design talents, and your Golang series is undoubtedly outstanding. If only more people could emulate your qualities.
It's been fun watching you tackle your dream project lately Junmin. The game so far from what you showed us is looking really cute. I especially love the color palette you went with and the concept. Looking forward to see how it evolves from here on out. :)
Glad your back Ms/Mrs Lee! You have an endearing way of creating devlog that is pleasant to watch ngl. I quit my thesis recently and went from full to part time software dev to create apps. Definitely found starting small is helping haha because I know at least my first 50 apps are going to be pitiful so lets just get them out of the way 😅. I will be creating devlog shorts for each too in another channel partly inspired by watching your vids 2 years ago. Wish me luck!
All of your videos are helpful and interesting to me to study computer programming. So I’m working on learning something more and new from you and because of you. So, I always really appreciate it😂
Internet cafes! I to create games, but I am one of a few , our model is interesting on the monetisation side, but we have one successful game that had 20 odd ports, i was responsible for the game cover but in the sequel I’ll rnd the character design and in some way influence their in game mechanics

Off the strength of you not caring about "over-scoping" wish I could like this twice. Love the concept and can't wait to see more

Awesome content, as always!
Thanks for this comment. I also think that as long as we are mindful about technology and the environment, that itself is a step forward.
The background music is so cozy and your art fits it so well
This looks awesome! I am looking forward to seeing the progress of your project.
