Coaching Masterclass EP 6 -John McDermott Watford Tottenham Hotspur Harry Kane Coach

John McDermott has worked with many of the brightest young players and coaches in the game.
In his 15 years at Tottenham Hotspur, these included England internationals Harry Kane, Danny Rose, Steven Caulker, Andros Townsend, Jake Livermore, Harry Winks and Ryan Mason, as well as a considerable number currently in the England ranks.
He has also helped develop the careers of many coaches including Fulham manager Scott Parker and Liverpool academy manager Alex Inglethorpe. McDermott has also worked closely with Tim Sherwood, Mauricio Pochettino and then José Mourinho in support of the Spurs first team.
Prior to his work with Tottenham Hotspur and The FA, McDermott began his coaching career with Watford and worked his way up through the ranks to become their academy manager.

He’s probably the more hard or “dick” coach of the coaching staff, it’s not uncommon to have that, there’s probably another coach who’s more encouraging with words. We do this with my coaching staff as well. Good cop bad cop you know.. just my thoughts

@@CoachWG I've not seen or spoken to John since I was 18 I'm 53 now (how did that happen lol) my memories of him are of a really decent lad who was my captain at St Michael's 1st 11, I knew he always wanted to be involved in football (didn't we all lol) and I knew he worked at Watford as a development officer, if your in touch with him send him my best if he remembers me lol ps.
