BREAKING NEWS !! Lovebites will be performing as the second headlining act at ProgPower USA XXIII on Day 3, Friday, 6 September 2024. This will be the band's first show in the US.
Midori could easily be the main shredder in any band and so could Miyako. What they discovered is they are a Dynamic Duo when they play together. They each make the other sound even better,fuller,bigger..... There are tons of Duo guitar bands but I can only think of a select couple that even come close with these Women and their Complete Harmonious and Complimentary play together. M&M!
A lot of bands have 1 guitar player and 1 keyboard player. Lovebites could go this route if they wanted to, but Miyako likes playing the guitar too much. For me, I would like to see Miyako on the keyboards more. I want LB to go in the direction of DT and SyX. Time will tell.
I want Midori to switch to single coils. Miyako has a more melodic sound with humbuckers where Midori would have even more bite. I think the contrast between them would sound even better. Just a thought.
They play these complex compositions at breakneck speeds, and they make it look like a walk in the park. Miyako & Midori are, in my opinion the best dual lead guitarists ever. There is no way anyone will convince me otherwise, and I'm 63 and have listened to all of the great dual leads. They use backing tracks in their lives, and they do it to perfection. They'll lay down a backing track, and then shred live with it playing along with them. Perfect example is Swan Song w/Chopin intro live, where at the end, Miyako brings her piano backing track to life. This song is my favorite song ever by any band. the solo section is a triple solo because Fami's bass lines are incredible. Great reaction.
Most bands don't have 2 "lead" guitarists. Could you imagine Yngwie and Michael Romeo in the same band? That would be pretty hilarious, but I don't think it could ever work. LB is making it work, much like Maiden and Helloween did.
Regarding M&M, indeed, I think it would be very difficult to find another pairing that are simply so "in tune with each other" and I'm not talking about strings on their guitars. They both have their 'style' but both can double each other in a way that is truly astounding. I've played guitar for 44 years, so have some technical comprehension, but there are times when I'm in the "how the hell did they do that!". When they harmonize their timing is incredible. I'm in awe, but also so grateful to be alive to witness this spectacle 🤘 Lovebites as a band is a much longer conversation, but they are without any question the best heavy metal band on the planet today - and getting better! Magic!

In addition to performing at rock festivals in Europe in 2018-2019 ( 5 festivals - Germany, UK, Spain, Belgium) and a joint concert Tour with DRAGONFORCE in 2019, LOVEBITES also had (outside Japan): - in 2017, 3 concerts in London (UK). - in 2018, a concert Tour of Europe ( Netherlands, Germany, France, UK ). - in 2019, concerts with ARCH ENEMY in China. - performed in Singapore in 2020. And then the Covid-19 pandemic began, which ruined all plans.
I seen them in Edinburgh when they were on a UK tour with Dragonforce also was next to them when they were on walkabout at Edinburgh Castle i wish now i had said hi and yes the girls are very small
The sound in this song is still better than in the studio. They made the sound a little more complicated. For example, at the end of the solos, the solo was divided into Midori and Miyako.
Professor, you're wearing your headphones backward....the corded side of your phones is supposed to be on the left ear. It's why you hear Midori in your right ear & know it all hears Midori in the left ear.😮
They haven't toured North America. Asami trained in dance here as a teenager. Midori and Miyako have appeared at NAMM--there are some videos up of them demoing their equipment.

Absolutely improbable (statistically spoken), and (as you absolutely truely say) as soon as _one_ of them started behaving selfishly, Lovebites would lose as a group. As far as I know, they've never toured the United States. They did some festivals in Europe and a tour with Dragonforce in the UK back in 2018/2019.
Only Haruna and Miho have been to US before with their former Band Destrose.

They're too good. Best metal band in the world in my opinion. So much talent on one stage. They sound even better now, coming back from hiatus.

Lovebites has yet to tour the USA or anywhere in North America - they hope to. Maybe in 2024.
