A tip when you use cool whip for an icing. Take 1/4 cup of sour cream and one Tablespoon of sugar mixed then add to your cool whip. Stays firm. Looks great.

I’ve had 12 years of abstinence since I got divorced, and the reason why is I love God and Jesus more than sex and because I am still single. 😥 My sister, who is such a good lady and a dear sister, but who doesn’t love God, says I’m missing out, but I’m only trying to be loyal to God and follow His commandments! I believe he has so much in store for me if I show my loyalty to Him! That’s the only way I can abstain and have lasted this long. I hardly miss it, usually, but I really think I must deserve this cake since I’ve been so trustworthy! Especially since some say it’s better than sex! Maybe this cake will make up for it. ;) I should make this cake asap! Cant wait to indulge! I have made this several times and turned out great every time. This last time I added peanut butter powder to the cake mix and I also added it to the whip topping. Just note I stirred it instead of folding because the powder tends to lump up and it did not deflate the Cool Whip at all it was so good. Also when I made the holes in the cake and chopsticks and it makes the perfect hole.

I’ve been making this cake for years and I found the recipe years ago called Heath Bar Cake. After the cake has cooled before the whipped cream sprinkle half the bag of Heath Bar pieces over the top. Adding the Heath Bar pieces on top of the cake adds a crunch to the cake. And I don’t skip on the condensed milk or caramel for the cake, I add the whole can and jar for the cake and buy extra for the topping. I figure if I’m going to make this cake I’m making it right. Then sprinkle the rest over the whipped cream. Tip: lately I’ve been having trouble the bags of Heath Bar Pieces so I have bought the giant candy bars of Heath Bars and broke them in pieces myself. My sister in law made it with Butterfinger pieces one year and it was really good.

This is almost exactly like a cake my grandma made when I was a kid, and I make it now. Only difference is, we use crumbled butterfingers as the topping!
You can do SO many variations of toppings on the whipped cream with this!! I have made this cake twice and am actually making the 3rd time right now! Mine is a little different in having to use gluten free cake mix(they don't make German chocolate) I used regular chocolate cake, first I used half the sweetened condensed milk, and half the caramel, next time I used a 3rd of each..but we have topped it with chopped nuts, Oreo cookie crumbles on top, and this time I think I am going to do a combo of both!

A few years ago, I started using buttermilk in place of water when I make a cake from a mix. I think the texture is much better.

@@leslieparker4082 for low call/ fat on any cake mix sub 4 egg whites vs 3 eggs and applesauce instead of oil. Tastes pretty good made that way. I do it all the time.

Yes, I use to make it too, used Pillsbury yellow cake mix butter recipe with pudding in the mix, etc. I don’t know if that particular cake mix is still being sold in stores. Very rich cake and so good!

I’m with you. I’ve had 12 years of abstinence since I got divorced, and the reason why is I love God and Jesus more than sex and because I am still single. 😥 My sister, who is such a good lady and a dear sister, but who doesn’t love God, says I’m missing out, but I’m only trying to be loyal to God and follow His commandments! I believe he has so much in store for me if I show my loyalty to Him! That’s the only way I can abstain and have lasted this long. I hardly miss it, usually, but I really think I must deserve this cake since I’ve been so trustworthy! Especially since some say it’s better than sex! Maybe this cake will make up for it. ;) I should make this cake asap! Cant wait to indulge! But, not too much - I still am the same weight as in my picture that was obviously taken eight years ago, because it has two of my then four year old triplets in it! 🥰

I made this cake and it's beyond amazing it takes the idea of cake to a whole different level
I have made this several times and turned out great every time. This last time I added peanut butter powder to the cake mix and I also added it to the whip topping. Just note I stirred it instead of folding because the powder tends to lump up and it did not deflate the Cool Whip at all it was so good. Also when I made the holes in the cake and chopsticks and it makes the perfect hole.
I have made this cake several times, with your recipe and I am making it today for Easter Sunday tomorrow. My Family loves it, a little to sweet for me, thanks Lady and be blessed.

I’ve been making this cake for years and I found the recipe years ago called Heath Bar Cake. After the cake has cooled before the whipped cream sprinkle half the bag of Heath Bar pieces over the top. Adding the Heath Bar pieces on top of the cake adds a crunch to the cake. And I don’t skip on the condensed milk or caramel for the cake, I add the whole can and jar for the cake and buy extra for the topping. I figure if I’m going to make this cake I’m making it right. Then sprinkle the rest over the whipped cream. Tip: lately I’ve been having trouble the bags of Heath Bar Pieces so I have bought the giant candy bars of Heath Bars and broke them in pieces myself. My sister in law made it with Butterfinger pieces one year and it was really good.
I watched this 2 days ago and got all the ingredients yesterday and I'm fixing this cake TODAY. My! My! I can't wait to try a piece!!! I used cold coffee instead of water.. I'll let you what my Loved ones and neighbors think...if I save them any!!! Have a Wonderful day! 😝

This is almost exactly like a cake my grandma made when I was a kid, and I make it now. Only difference is, we use crumbled butterfingers as the topping!

You can do SO many variations of toppings on the whipped cream with this!! I have made this cake twice and am actually making the 3rd time right now! Mine is a little different in having to use gluten free cake mix(they don't make German chocolate) I used regular chocolate cake, first I used half the sweetened condensed milk, and half the caramel, next time I used a 3rd of each..but we have topped it with chopped nuts, Oreo cookie crumbles on top, and this time I think I am going to do a combo of both!
