अष्टभुजा देवी का मंदिर विंध्याचल मां विंध्यवासिनी की मंदिर से लगभग 3 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर स्थित है. विंध्य पर्वत के 300 फुट ऊंचाई पर स्थित मां अष्टभुजा मंदिर पर जाने के लिए 160 पत्थर की सीढ़ियां बनी हुई है. देवी की प्रतिमा एक लंबी और अंधेरी गुफा में है. गुफा के अंदर दीप जलता रहता है, जिसके प्रकाश में श्रद्धालु देवी मां का दर्शन गुफा में करते हैं. प्राकृतिक गोद में बसा हुआ मां का अष्टभुजा मंदिर बड़ा दिव्य और रमणीक है. यह स्थान अपने शांत और सुंदर दृश्यों के कारण भक्तों के साथ-साथ पर्यटकों के बीच भी लोकप्रिय है.
अष्टभुजा मां भगवान कृष्ण की है बहन
बताया जाता है द्वापर युग से जुड़ी हुई यह अष्टभुजा मां भगवान कृष्ण की बहन है. पापी कंस ने अपनी मृत्यु के डर से अपनी बहन देवकी को पति सहित कारागार में कैद कर लिया था. अपने विनाश के भय से वह देवकी की कोख से जन्म लेने वाले हर बच्चे को वध करता गया. इसी बीच देवकी के कोख से ज्ञान की देवी अष्टभुजा अवतरित होती है, जो कंस के हाथों से छूट कर विंध्याचल पहाड़ी पर विराजमान होती है और तब से मां अष्टभुजा अपने भक्तों को अभय प्रदान कर रही हैं. विंध्य पर्वत पर त्रिकोण मार्ग पर स्थित ज्ञान की देवी मां सरस्वती रूप में मां अष्टभुजा के दर्शन के लिए नवरात्र में देश के कोने-कोने से श्रद्धालुओं का तांता लगता है.
मार्कंडेय पुराण में मिलता है मां के अवतार का वर्णन
विंध्याचल में नवरात्रि के आठवें दिन मां विंध्यवासिनी के महागौरी स्वरूप का दर्शन पूजन होता है. असुरों के भय से नर और नारायण को मुक्ति दिलाने वाली मां के विभिन्न रूपों में एक रूप माता अष्टभुजा का भी है. मां के अवतार लेने के बारे में मार्कंडेय पुराण में वर्णन मिलता है कि 'नंद गोप गृहे जाता यशोदा गर्भ संभवा, ततस्तो नाशयिष्यामी विंध्याचल निवासिनी. मां अष्टभुजा ज्ञान की देवी हैं. इनके दर्शन करने से सारी मनोकामनाएं पूरी होती हैं. नवरात्रि में माता के दरबार में मनोकामना लेकर हजारों भक्तों पहुंचते हैं. उन्हें असीम सुख मिलता है.
Ashtabhuja Devi Temple, as the name suggests, is dedicated to the goddess Ashtbhuja, who was the daughter of Yashoda, the foster mother of Lord Krishna. As the legends say, she escaped miraculously from the heinous clutches of the demon king, Kans, of Mathura and landed upon a hilltop in Vindhyachal mountains. The majestic temple is nestled atop the Vindhyachal mountain. Ashtabhuja Devi Temple was built to commemorate the event. It is located three kilometres from the other important temple dedicated to Vindhyavasini Devi. The temple is situated against the backdrop of the majestic mountain range and is a great attraction for tourists as well as devotees because of its serene and picturesque surroundings. In the days of yore, the venue was a favourite destination of the kings who would visit it to perform secret poojas, yagyas and rituals with the help of the tantriks for scoring victories over their rivals and for the fulfillment of their desires
