Great video!! 2 questions for you: 1. By connecting my 500 series gear, does the Galaxy remove the need to have a patch bay? 2. Will the Galaxy connect t to a PC using USB type c ot only thunderbolt?
Regarding question 1 It depends on what you are using the patch for. Regarding question 2 I am not sure as I am a Mac user not windows. You will have to check with Antelope on this one.
Hey Fady, thanks for your video. I have been sitting on the fence for the galaxy 64. I’m currently using two 16x16 avid hd i/o. Other than the fan noise it’s a very good converter. Is the galaxy a better converter or just good. Also there are so many negative reviews on the galaxy 64. Has been any changes or improvements? It looks a little complicated though. There are sales going on at Vintage King. Tempting! Thanks
I am using the apollo 8p as my preamp setup. Will the console see my apollo setup via the apollos thunderbolt connection to my Mac into the DAW inputs of the antelope console? Or, do I just bring it into the galaxy via Analog connections? This is stumping me. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
One thing that has me kinda on the fence is….only 64 channels vs Orion32gen4 128 ? am i missing something… i have 32gen3, and really need more analogue inputs for outboard gear, and when needed, 80 tracks of live recording 😅 seems that the Orion32gen4 using madi to daisy chain would be the only way as of today…correct ? thanks in advance & have a great day.
@@K_shabby my thinking, but not yet confirmed, is that the O32G4 has the higher channel count because of not having any fx…which is really a smart move if true 👍 even though i get a little extra mojo from our custom analog patch bay….the value of time & ease of use makes my appreciation for what Antelope is developing grow ✅
Good morning Fady… thank you for another great video 👍
You’re welcome
Antelope audio has great gear
Indeed

The converters on Galaxy 64 are much better. It’s a noticeable difference.

@@surreal_youtube it’s 64 analogue inputs and outputs via dsub line ins/outs. I’m fairly certain it’ll do at least 128 to and from the DAW
Although just seeing that I may be wrong! Perhaps it’s high quality link or their solution to allow higher buffer size for the DAW in/out
