@@professionalamateur741 Why does this sound like a vibe Kathleen can actually pull off??😂 Love this idea, or some variation of it!! 🎃🧡Spooky Season Approaches!!🧡🎃
I am so happy I found you. May sound weird but I am incredibly happy you exist because you bring so much joy in my life with your videos. You are my serotonin boost. Thank you ❤
I am one of your older if not oldest followers in age that is. And I love what you do,you make me smile. So I just had to say and call my self out when you mentioned square dancing! I am so old, that when I was in elementary school, we actually had square dancing as part of a mandatory thing every week! Can you even imagine! It was 3rd and 4th grade for me, and I hated it and loved it at the same time. because you always worried about getting paired up with some one who you didn’t like but, had a crush on you. Anyway, I loved the instructors and their fancy outfits! Particularly the square dancing skirts! So it was so fun to me when you mentioned this it brought back silly and fun memories for me! Bring back square dancing needs to be a bumper sticker campaign 😂
Kathleen, this is so inspiring. I have a 10 year old who LOVES making beaded jewelry and I’m always making jewelry with her, but I’ve been bored with the usual. I’m definitely going to attempt this bralette! Now for the squeamish portion of the comment… Quite a few years ago, single me lived in an apartment with shag carpets, yes! Shag carpets! Anywho, unbeknownst to me, I had accidentally lost a sewing needle in said shag carpet while sewing. One day I found it. WITH👏MY👏FOOT!👏 it went so far in between my toes you couldn’t see it on the surface and it needed to be SURGICALLY removed! In the ER, they took X-rays and literally every Doctor-and nurse on duty came to my room to see the X-ray. Everyone said they had never seen anything like it. Ok, if you made it through that story, the moral is: MIND ALL YOUR NEEDLES😂 (and maybe slippers always😉)
o dang I need to make one of these now. I'm thinking wood and porcelain. anywho love all your videos, thanks so much for putting so much time and effort into these, they always make my days a lil' brighter and remind me to create for the fun of it.
This is great. I have a bunch of beads and supplies i haven't used in years. Plus my mother in-law is moving so I got a bunch of skull beads from Mexico and beads made of actual bones.
I love the fact that I always tilt my head (yeah, like a dog) when the brazilian music starts! It's great to know that our music is apreciated around the world ♥
This won't make your awesome green dress more fitted, but if you want to take it in the other direction I love adding "racing stripes" to dresses to make them a little roomier: just cut along the side seams and up through the underarm and sleeve seams, and insert a strip of 2-or-more inch wide fabric, matching or contrasting. It's my favorite (only) tailoring trick, and it feels super Make Do and Mend WWII! (I've done it on three dresses and a denim jacket I couldn't say goodbye to) (Kind of like your flower pants, now that I think of it!)
I imagine you making a flowy dress from strings of beads. Maybe you can find a 70ies bead fly curtain with those wooden beads (and add some porcelain and shiny beads from old necklaces to connect them?)
Hiya Kathleen, you just gave me an idea for making a dress out of scraps of different fabrics connected w/ jump rings & some beads, yay! I want it to have a crazy quilt look using whatever shape the scraps are in, all black but use all the freaky different textured fabric scraps I have- wish me luck! Your body chain looks fab & it’s very “you”, enjoy wearing it! I got so annoyed last week trying to go thrift shopping as every one was closed, they all listed their hours incorrectly & the one I called told me wrong hours😢. I wound up at a consignment shop (very reasonable & I always find treasures) yesterday, found exactly what I wanted at the same price as the thrift store as everything was half price! Might go back & dig some more! To tailor the dress easily for more room in the bust area, I’d suggest a gusset in a matching or completely different (but complimentary) colour/pattern. If you use a different colour/pattern I’d add more somewhere like trimming; around the neck, sleeves, or hem should look great, like it was intentional! You could put gussets in the skirt part as well to make it more swingy, fun! Another idea if you want the shape of the dress stay the same, put strips of fabric down each side seam, good luck & I hope you show us what you wind up doing! Jet (of the stinky sub club😊) 🧡🎸🎶⚡️🏍🦋
absolutely agree with the craft stuff section of thrift/charity shops being the best. last year my partner found a pack of tiny origami paper and folded a whole load of paper cranes, and i've turned them (as well as some beads i got from a broken jewellery lot on ebay) into a little hanging display on my corkboard :]
This beaded body chain you created looks gorgeous! I also want to thank you for your videos, they are so relaxing and fun at the same time, they are a real plaisure to watch! They also inspire me to be more playful in my everyday life, it's refreshing Lots of love from France!
This is so funny, I always think “I wonder what Kathleen would look like in a super casual bike shorts outfit” because my go to is always minimalist cool girl outfits. Of course you rock it like you do everything else. 😜
Square dance is still very much alive! There's some great clubs down your way, and the state convention is often held in Columbus, including again this year. Look up clubs near you and give it a try, it's LOADS of fun!!!
For the lime green polka dot dress, you can use armpit gussets to get a better fit in the bust. Getting the waist more fitted is more intense surgery, but you could maybe cut it into a separate skirt/bodice and insert a new panel of fabric at the waist so you can add darts for that closer fit... or try darts from the side seam, but that might take away more length to the skirt than you want. if neither of those work you could always turn it into a blouse! tricky tricky side note I love that cat shirt 🖤
Omg that chain is so cute!! I would def look up decora fashion for inspo, that style also includes a lot of colourful beaded accesoires, although i understand it might be a bit much for some people 😅 as for that green dress i would just put in some darts to make it fitted around the waist if that is what you meant? You wouldnt need more fabric for that :) Thanks for another fun video 🤠
Omigosh! I have that exact vintage xacto set! Same box, w most of the blades used and gone, but I also have no idea how I got it or where it came from. A gift from the craft gods
i'll be honest, i was skeptical of a beaded bralette but i was won over so fast. what a cute accessory!! and so customizable depending on the beads you find. thanks for sharing :o)
oh dang. I'm gonna find chunky beads and make a masc beaded harness 🤩 also you inspired me to get this flowy tie dye cover up thing with big billowing sleeves this weekend! you were in my brain saying "big on top and on the bottooooom" until i caved lmao so thank you!
What a cute look! I love thrifted craft supplies. I have thrifted lots of yarn and fabric from local stores, but also online thrift stores. Also got a pair of vintage pinking shears that need to be sharpened (which I have the tools to do) so big win
The harness turned out fantastic. If I took on this project, I would make it with flexible wire instead of stretch cord for durability purposes. I still have a lariat necklace I made in the early 2000s, which I would also wear as a belt, and it's still going strong 💪 😂
Kathleen, this is such a random thing to say, but I am in love with the music choice in your videos. It, strangely enough, reminds me of a nostalgic Nintendo cozy videogame. (I mean this in the absolute best way). Do you happen to have a spotify playlist with similar vibes? Thank you! I'm a big fan- you are my comfort creator.

Oh I have been looking for a mini dress like that green one for a long time. I think the sleeves in a dress like that can be difficult. I can see removing them and then maybe using excess fabric to give you more space in the mid bust. The dress was cut for a tiny person with a bullet bra I think. Like so many vintage clothes, it really only looks right with that kind of underwear. I'm excited to see what you make of it. The Fabric is super cute and the length looks terrific on you.

Pouring coffee in your bowl of yoghurt is annoying but pouring the hot water into the jar of coffee granules instead of your coffee cup is insanely something I have done as well as the raw eggs in the sugar canister instead of the mixing bowl. There’s also the hairspray under the arms and hair removing cream instead of hair mousse, the smell alerted one just in time. Whew!! Keep your spectacles on because modern life is full of tricks.

So...hear me out. You know those button bracelets people make? What if it was a button body chain? 🤔 You can find super vintage ones in mass quantity pretty often. As someone who sews, yes, I purchase them in theory to sew with, but usually you need 4-6 buttons for projects and theres lots of single or 2 of a kind buttons.... 🤔 It would give a great place to stick singular ones

So...hear me out. You know those button bracelets people make? What if it was a button body chain? 🤔 You can find super vintage ones in mass quantity pretty often.
