Join Zangetsu, Dominique, and the rest of a brand new cast of characters as they battle with swords, whips, and more to defeat a new demonic threat in Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2! Curse of the Moon 2 brings classic 2D action and a dark, 8-bit aesthetic together with modern playability. The multiple-scenario structure of the previous title returns with an epic new story supervised by IGA (Koji Igarashi) himself. Three brand-new playable characters appear in Curse of the Moon 2, including the exorcist Dominique. Each new character adds a variety of gameplay options, abilities, and ways to complete the games' many stages. Allies from the original Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon - Miriam, Alfred, and Gebel, are also playable, bring the total number of playable characters to seven!
With the inclusion of a two player co-op mode, friends can take the battle against demonkind to new heights. Combine the abilities of different characters and create a near limitless amount of new ways to traverse stages and defeat tough bosses.

Lol. IntiCreates first creates the Gunvolt series and keeps the spirit of the Megaman series alive. Now Inticreates is basically taking Castlevania away from Konami. I love you Inticreates, you guys are awesome

@@mrbisshie technically. Mighty No 9 is mostly Comcast's fault. They told inti to do it and Inti had to oblige. Besides, Inticreates' Luminous Avengers ix has a dash based gameplay. Not entirely similar to Mighty No 9. But they did show an unlimited dash based gameplay can work and they can make it. I am just unbelievably glad Comcast didn't take Inticreates down with it
2D gaming is still thriving in video games; thankfully, it shows no sign of slowing down. ^_^

the vast majority of games on my switch, physical by the way, are in a 2d style. and a lot of them have the pixelated graphic style. and no i won't call it pixel art. hate that term.

Honestly Curse of the Moon 1 and Ritual of the Night are all amazing. I've already played this game for 9 hours on steam and might pick it up on switch too for easier co-op playing.

Well jeez not everyone saw this until today... I heard about it on NVC but didn’t see anything official til now. But bought it on the spot, loved the first game. These are more specifically callbacks to Castlevania 3 which is maybe my favorite of the series. Old school style anyway.
Honestly I only heard about it at the start of the month but if a friend didn't tell me about it this probably would have been my first exposure to this and a huge surprise XD

It felt like Curse of the Moon 1 was an NES-style game, whereas this feels more like an SNES game
this is still done in the 8-bit style in terms of visuals but thanks to modern tech you can take that and really push it with so much more detail, effects, smooth animation, deep backgrounds, etc, all while retaining that 8-bit aesthetic.

@@patch6306 that's if they make a third one. If they do 16-bit graphics would be nice. Although with today's hardware i think it would be awesome to take the pixel style of graphics and really push them to another level to make something truly amazing. So much potential.
First one was a really good game, I recommend it.

Granted in a game with such glorious art direction and mech riding corgi that's not too surprising.

I have no idea how they've managed to top the first game, but this sequel is unbelievably good. I've only finished the first two levels, but the level design and bosses were top notch. Really glad to see that the level structure from the first game returns in that there are multiple paths and areas only certain characters can access. Thank goodness for Inti Creates, truly the scions of sorcery!

The first one wasn't average, it was great. Not as good as Shovel Knight, but above average for sure.

The first game was incredible. Just hopped on for a short sesh with Curse of the Moon 2 and it may very well be a masterpiece. Still want to experience it in its entirety before I give my complete thoughts though. So far so good! And I mean, soooooo good!!
