This answer some questions that I didn't even have
We gotta wait to learn Pluto's story in Kingdom Hearts 0.4: A Royal Steed's Passage
The Japanese originally had next to nothing, just the base game.
The Americans got a few secret bosses and one side of deep dive.
THEN, the Japanese got final mix, which had more bosses, new key blades, and an addendum to the deep dive movie; the action sequence between Roxas and riku, and cryptic messages hinting at moments set for the future of the series.
Technically the original Japanese release of KH1 included Phantom as the only optional boss.
I’m so grateful for your videos cuz I honestly just wan more KH content and I seriously can’t want for a new release 😭
I'll try my best, Thank you 😁
I remember first seeing the little snippet of 'adult kairi' and thinking "oh my god this game, what is happening" it just felt so surreal...and to this day that has not been answered or placed. Knowing Nomura, that small scene alone can be important much much later.
Itvaculy was just very early kh 2 Kairi. I t Was a early lock at the ending of kh 2
I’ve been watching Star Wars recently and now that I see it the sith reminds me so much of organization 13, like how the sith control the dark side of the force, the organization control darkness. The sith eyes are yellow, like the organization. There’s even a Sith Lord who wants to “change the word for the better” like Palpatine.
Abdi Lee the Thirteen Sith of Darkness:
1. Sidious
2. Vader
3. Maul
4. Kylo
5. Dooku
6. Ventress
7. Savage
8. Grand Inquisitor
9. Second Sister
10. Seventh Sister
11. Fifth Brother
12. General Grievous
13. Dark Rey (from TROS)
Depth217 yea now that you mentioned it wasn’t there this “rule of two” where they is a master and a apprentice but instead there’s a bunch of sith
I'm sure KH got a lot of inspirations from star wars. Mickey and Yoda pretty much fights the same
Its also mentioned in 0.2 i think?
to close the door it needed 2 keys and 2 hearts from both sides.
Mickey was a key, and riku was the heart.
Does Mickey not have a heart? Does Sora not have a heart? How does that even make sense
wut
@@BabyGirlTiny you have completely misunderstood what was said.
Maybe Pluto was collecting summons from the worlds we don't visit and sent them our way as we "unlocked" them.
Love these KH1 Ultimania videos you are pumping out! It's really interesting to see how Nomura thought about KH back then.
....I hate to be that guy, but Deep Dive was not in the American release. It was an addition in Final Mix along with the Unknown. It was one of the reasons Final Mix was so coveted, not just because of the Unknown and the game changes and additions, but because Deep Dive was seen one of the most intriguing parts of the release for many fans, especially back when video sharing on the internet was a lot harder to do.
It was very long ago, but I believe that’s false. I remember seeing the deep dive ending back on my copy on ps2. Same way sephiroth was also in the OG American release, but I believe was only supposed to be in final mix.
@@blackcrow9231 No, it is not false, because I completed everything in the original KH game and never once got Deep Dive.
Deep Dive was only in the Final Mix version. There was a secret ending in the international release, but it was Another Side, Another Story, not the extended version we know as Deep Dive.
NemesisSP see why I’m doubting this is because I remember seeing the deep dive ending very long ago, and at the time I don’t remember RUclips being a very big thing at such a time. However despite my possibly false memory of seeing it in my game, I don’t really have any evidence.
NemesisSP and as I’m trying to look it up to confirm or deny my own claim, any “official” like source reports it was only in final mix, however people’s individual sayings mention that they got it on ps2 like myself, where as kh final mix didn’t release outside of Japan on ps2. The “official” sources I see also like to mention that, sephiroth was a secret boss only in final mix when I’m 100% sure he was in the NA release too. So looking it up hasn’t been too fruitful
@@blackcrow9231 The Final Mix version is part of the original international release, but Deep Dive is not. Deep Dive is an extended version of the original Secret Movie that was in the American version. As I'm saying, that version is called "Another Side, Another Story". When Final Mix was made, along with porting over the other exclusive things in the American version, they added a lot of new content, such as the Unknown, new weapons and reports and a new secret ending.
Mandela effect could be in effect for some or it's just people on the internet claiming nonsense as usually, but having played the game several times over, I can assure it did not. I had to actually import Final Mix in order to get the Deep Dive secret ending. And that is because Deep Dive is exclusively in Final Mix. Just like how the Birth by sleep video is exclusive to the Final Mix version of II.
At first I thought Riku didn’t go to the other side because there needed to be at least one person to be on both sides to close it.
Me too. I didn’t question it 😆
This interview clears up so many things I didn’t know I was confused about
Same! Like Riku closing the door from the inside instead of going out to push with Sora. I never questioned it 😆 I just thought it was required for someone to close from the inside and the outside. Which is true though as well.
I, too, was a wee child when I played KH 1 and I recently played 1.5... Man, did I miss a lot when I was 7 lol
5:35 Okay, that's definitely a retcon, because a) the Organization was already at Castle Oblivion by the time Sora, Donald and Goofy arrived on the plains, and b) Aqua sealed the Keyhole years ago.
The letter that Pluto had at the end was never brought up again. They never discussed what Pluto was doing, although DDD did show that Mickey was in Traverse Town when everyone else arrived. They showed bits and pieces of what Pluto was doing, such as showing him walking through a Corridor of Darkness. But other than that, absolutely nothing was made clear.
It always bothers me that we never know what was written in that letter. Thinking about it, I am wondering if Pluto got away with the letter since he isn't with Sora, Donald or Goofy during the night time scene afterward. So maybe the letter wasn't meant for them. Pluto was still jumping worlds in KH2 when he went to Destiny Islands, Twilight Town and such.
Robert Lawson That’s probably because what Pluto was doing and what was in that letter has yet to be fully revealed.
Robert Lawson “The Organization was already at CO by the time that Sora, Donald and Goofy arrived on the plains”
Not really, there was clearly a transition of time between when that world was restored and when the group chased Pluto and found CO, it was night time by then.
no it's not a retcon. stop making everything you don't get a contradiction, idiot
It’s crazy to think how long ago this has all been. It’s cool to look back at it from that perspective though. Stay well out there everybody, and Jesus Christ be with you friends.😊
You too.
as a kid I saw Riku staying behind as his way of making amends for all he's done
So what you’re telling us is.... we’re getting a new spinoff revolving around Pluto and the worlds he visits. N I C E
You know Nomura makes some of this up as he goes and allows the fans to make up the story... I think then they pool the best theories and make them into future games. Huge KH fan here btw HUGE
Joshua Doss then fans failed dream drop and KH3 because what the fuck were those.
In a way Nomura is the biggest fan of KH as he literally took notes
mate, that's what writing is. ever heard of slow burn planning?
@@gracekim25 aculy nomura does his own zhing..He might lock what Fans want to see but he does it in his own way.
@@unknowingreaper6556 ddd was the game to connect everything and 3 was as he intended the end of the Xehanort Saga and wher Sora saves the People Xehanort put to Sleep.
But by doing so he falls asleep himself and wakes up in a World wher he cant simply come back from
I wish there was a way to get and read the ultimanias.
There a guy on Tumblr who translates and has PDFs of them
@@dls_hybrid_4239 Thank you, but could you provide a link so me and everyone else can read them. also I am a collector of physical media, so having them on my shelf would be awesome too. lol
@@SuperNova0079 hella tracking this post
I have all of them! (except for KH3) I bought them last year via amazon Japan when I lived in Japan, and brought them bacl home. They are very easily obtainable in Japan and super cheap, like 500¥/book.
I know this is a year later, but the official English version of the ultimania is being released this month. I’m so excited! For years I’ve seen the Japanese one at cons and stuff but never bought it because, well, I can’t read Japanese. But now we get it!
6:46 His guess was right they were Sora (Sort of), Riku, and Kairi.
Nomura: (hoping KH will get a sequel)
Me:(after getting technicality over ten games) Your hopes came true.
Everyone here is being nostalgic for KH one and I'm here being a few months younger than the original game
doesn't matter, you're still here ;) Those games are awesome to grow up with
@@NoctLightCloud
:D
Thank you
The correction assumes the third person is Kairi, but it could be the Nameless Star. Destiny Islands appears on a billboard in quadratum and the girl shown has brown hair and different clothes
I actually would have loved a prequel to Mickey's beginnings as Nomura mentioned that Mickey had his own adventure as well to get his Keyblade.
I wouldn't mind that honestly!
Spartan 69 they would have to ask Disney
I just consider the Illusion and Epic Micky series to be an unofficial prequel to the KH series.
Lol everyone thought bbs was kh3 even after it says bbs at the end
@Alabama Man well the line was it all began with... Birth by sleep
BBS tells us nothing without the context of BBS itself.
Ok, I know that this may be a stretch, but I think that Yazora is Riku’s Nobody. I say that because Riku’s heart has been sent to the realm of darkness, thus separating his heart from his body, and generating the nobody that is Yazora. It also plays into the fact that Yazora is heavily similar to Riku, and that even in KH3 they state that Yazora “kinda looks a lot like Riku.” Idk, it could be me, but it seems pretty straight-forward (in a KH sense of things).
Nah, because Riku's body has never been unoccupied.
But what about Ansem using Riku’s body as a vessel?
Riku never became a Heartless, so he can't have a Nobody.
True, but considering if all the bull crap that KH has pulled, there also could’ve been things that may or may not have happened behind the scenes of the story, so it’s kinda up in the air.
Riku never turned into a Heartless. So, no Nobody. Yozora is a person from another dimension. Hardly there would be any revelation that he actually belongs to Sora's original dimension.
In the secret ending with the words flying around. The word "chasers' popped up? What's the deal with that, we've yet to see that term used in the series. Or is it a place holder for the "seekers of darkness" ?
Was mentioned kh2fm ending too. Have a funny hunch it'll still come as more of meaning not be about the seekers of darkness
I agree, it's the only term not used, so maybe they're saving it for the next installment or one of the spinoffs? I wanna believe that these chasers are the foretellers, but nothing makes sense in that. We'll know in time, I guess.
Probably the white cloaks
Maybe it has something to do with Yozora? I don't know everything about him yet because I'm avoiding spoilers and still trying to beat the data battles, but it seems like he's some kind of hunter? Hunter → Chaser? Maybe there are more people like him and Sora?
It was an abandoned concept for BBS. I believe there was an interview that stated the "chasers" where Terra, Aqua, and Ven, as Terra was chasing Xehanort, Ven was chasing Terra, and Aqua was chasing Ven.
imo Roxas lost some of his coolness and mystery when they introduced a clone who looked exactly like him (Ventus).
Didn't 2.8 a fragmentary passage already say that the door won't let a heart with light pass through
The original US version of kingdom hearts only had the short version secret ending(another side another story) I know cause I played around release and did everything to unlock it and I remember being insanely excited and obsessed with it for the years waiting for the next KH game
Well they thought the two people were Riku and Sora.... Well, they were technically correct
Of course another side another story/deep dive is a reference to riku, roxas and the memory skyscraper, but what if another side another story, as an idea, also resonates with the whole yozora mystery?
Obviously they’re in what eventually becomes world that never was, but what if that wasn’t the case, at the time? It’s hard to try and read into past content using the full hindsight that one gets after playing through the whole series
It's gotta be yozora walking in the beginning of it and the girl he was trying to save in the secret movie for kingdom hearts in toybox I think but I think there both the new characters idk but I kinda think so the face is nearly matchable and the way the guy jumps he reminds me of a younger yozora just a bit though but just a theory that it's yozora trying to find sora and it's not kairi it's the girl from yozora's world at least I think because he probably has been planning this for a long time
I started when I was in elementary school 5th grade beat the game in proud mode with my brother and after beating the game i took my mom's phone and recorded the audio of the credit version of simple and clean with the audio bit of I'll come back for you it was amazing with the BBS trio i also thought it was older versions of Riku sora and kairi you know beefed up and ready for a second conflict the secret clips was your if you beat it in proud mode mane i boasted bout that for weeks and would listen to the simple and clean in that phone i was 12 maybe 11 awh man i love this game when the sequel came out boom rushed and binged destroyed the game till my PS2 stopped working and I let one of my friends in the YMCA borrow my kh2 disk and he never gave it back. So i was overcome with darkness as I saw the light escape me to be anothers warmth. That butt head last update i got was he made it to the Mulan world that was over a decade ago i feel like Frank Reynolds when he's remembering froggy quick get that namebitch to change my memories
So real talk. I have a theory that the end of the world is actually daybreak town.
The heartless that show up there are Invincibles, which are theorized to be former Keyblade wielders if Dark Inferno is anything to go off of. They have rements of other worlds, like memories that the keyblade wielders can access like from the pages of the book of proficiencies and the data recreations. The section we all thought was a lost room of hallow bastion was action the Room with the Ark in the tower, and it seems to have connection to all worlds. Perhaps the events of Kh1 has a bit more of a hidden meaning that might shed some light in the next saga. I wonder if anyone can do a video looking into this for me.
Let's make a list of keyblade wielders that we know of now
We have keyblades wielders that turned to darklings
Keyblades wielders that died before their time and are now stuck in the final world confused on what's going on
We have 300 keybladers and also ephimer that's soul that lingers within the keyblades laying in the graveyard that helped sora
Which as it seems have strong wills to separate into a heartless and a nobody with a form .... I guess
So your theory is plausible
fantastic video
Awesome ! Thx !
Well be ready to wait another decade plus to find out what Nomura has in store for the KH franchise next seeing as how long KH3 took to come out. I'll be almost frickin 50 by then if I'm not dead.
Can someone tell me the name of the song that plays at the end of this RUclips video? It’s so good
I slowed down the secret movie and the guy running up the wall has boots with a lot of details even laced up??? That's yozora
Has anyone ever thought that maybe Pluto is a Keyblade Wielder, kinda like Rapide wielding a sword in Tales of Vespiria
That would be very cool
Nomura should Remake Kh1 to make everything looks the way it should be, according to the games after 1. One example of a better look could be when Donald and Goofy take a look inside the door of light they should have seen Aqua dealing with the Demon tide, also that part of the dark world look kinda empty compared to 0.2.
8:02 That is not Ansem's true body. Yeah, Ansem's true body would only be revealed in 2010
So.....aqua didnt return toholow bastion when the worlds returned, why???? Because by the logic of the interview...
Aqua wasn't in Hollow Bastion when it was destroyed by the Heartless, so restoring it wouldn't have any effect on her.
She was already in the realm of darkness long before the worlds fell into darkness. When they were being restored, she didn't return, or couldn't, because she was already there. If the demon tower didn't take her away at the end of .2 from Mickey, she could have had a way out of the realm of darkness.
What if, the part of another side, another story in the destiny islands has something to do with yozora as counterpart of sora or riku ?
It would blow my mind.
Honestly I was thinking the same. Only because it's kind of getting strange that between every game plus spinoffs usually have a trio, the last time we saw Sora (Presently) was with Yozora, and the only 2 other people that we know of now is the MoM and Riku. So it would be cool if it was tied to Yozora.
I miss the close up gameplay in KH1. It felt more intimate and detailed
How do you know that adult girl was Kairi?
2.6.22
It wasn’t just you. Someone wrote a dissertation on kingdom hearts and reached the same conclusion.. it’s long been outdated and defunct, with the additions of the other titles, though.
I thought the "deep dive" was just a glorified "cool action scene, sequel possibly" blond guy was barely thought of as roxas yet. And blindfolded riku was just typical cool mystery guy stuff.
lifestream 1 it was literally just the part where Roxas casually attacked a few neo shadows while riku looked at the sky.
We didn’t get the action scene where Roxas bolted up the building plowing through heartless while Riku fell from it to catch the key blade. That part was Japan exclusive
@@DemiTrusdale3 yeah the international release of the first game we only got the *_Another Side Another Story_* secret ending. The Japanese Final Mix exclusive at the time got the *_Another Side Another Story [Deep Dive]_* secret ending which showed Roxas Fighting the Neo Shadows.
Plot twist: Pluto is a door of light
Here we go magic number
I’m still confused about Kairi

Star Ocean 2 - Sacred Song
@@ProdigyxCD thank you
I love Kingdom Hearts but I'm pretty sure that most of the story is improvised even if he acts cool and tries to fix some plot holes the reality is so obvious.
It's not improvised. Game Devs have to do plot charts and such. Granted it's not planned out down to every last detail, no creator in any medium is that good. You just give yourself enough space to plant seeds. Look up George RR Martin talking about Gardeners and Architects, you'll understand better then.
:)
Am I the only one who gives two shits about Roxas?
Pluto game?! HAHAHA jkjk
Game is overrated & outdated. Who cares?
