It's a shame that Nintendo did that tactic of hiding the side goals again in Kirby and The Forgotten Land. Just like the Bowser goals in the video, you have to go through the whole level first, before you get it revealed.

Didn’t actually pick up that one, so that’s interesting to hear! Definitely a confusing decision

It's a shame that they made it such a poor port of the original. The idea of a mario level creator in your pocket anywhere you go, making levels with the 3ds touchscreen, on a much more popular system, seems like a great fit. Awesome vid! Hope you take off soon, great editing.

Thank you! And yeah, it was a real missed opportunity. I feel the new stuff was made to just be filler and to take up as little dev time as possible

No way you only have 500 subs… bro you deserve way more. Keep it up!

What I like to believe about this game is that the portability of the 3DS systems combined with the marketing for SMM3DS were the breeding grounds for what would essentially be Mario Maker 2 for Switch. SMM2 is basically the best of both worlds, being able to build levels anywhere and share them online. So if it weren’t for the combined capabilities of the Wii U and 3DS along with both counterparts of SMM1, the Switch, and/or SMM2, wouldn’t even exist.

I feel like the 3DS and Wii U were what partially inspired the Switch to begin with. So I guess in a sense that could be true

Couldn't agree more. This was definitely a "Oh crap the WiiU is failing we need money quick" type of release. Glad that Nintendo seemingly has not done anything quite this embarrassing since. It just hurts their image imo.
Also great video. I've said it once and I'll say it again, your channel deserves thousands more subscribers. Your script, editing, voice over, and intro music are all top tier RUclipsr level. I hope the algorithm sends some love your way!

Luckily, there was a 3DS Homebrew that let you upload and download SMM courses. I don't remember what the name of it was or if it still exists.

Bro I remember never knowing what a Wii U was and all i had was a 2ds with Mario maker and let me tell you I didn't even know the game was bad it made up most of my memories with the 2ds especially when I took it on trips. Back then I thought mario maker was one of the coolest games and didnt know how weird it was till i saw ur video

Thanks for sharing! I can definitely see how you would grow to love the game in that case. In fact, I loved it too until I got the Wii U version!
