I just love this song. It's so incredibly sad if you really listen to the lyrics. Just people trying to get by the best they can, with so much adversity placed in front of them constantly. Here I am, a senior citizen, and I still almost cry every time I hear this beautiful song. I just love this song so much.
Thank You W. Hild. I too am a senior, and I also cry every time I here this tune..........like right now!! Heard them do it live at "Merle Fest", with the "Tedeschi Trucks Band". Phenomenal!!!! Just turned on the movie "Colors" ( it opens the movie), and had to do a "Double Play"..........make that a Triple!!!!!

I asked the counter staff about Los Lobos album. He said to look in the " Foreign section." He said never heard of Los Lobos. Around '85? Yet you can find lots of British band records. Aren't Brits foreign? East Los Angeles us part of L.A. County.
It’s so funny to see Louie on drums after seeing him for the last bunch of years playing guitar. Tremendous drummer but Bugs is fantastic! Louie, David and Cesar are all great guitar players. Hidalgo hits me as hard as any guitar player in terms of making my soul cry. Long Live The Wolves Of East LA. 🐺

It's a song causes a dilemma. It's the kind of song that if you heard it come on in a nightclub, such is its rythm, your instinct would be to get up and dance to it, but then if you knew the lyrics you would wonder how appropriate such a response would be.
