Caine is literally the manifestation of the phrase "trying to please everyone, but pleases no one" AI is usually programmed to adapt and grow to better accomplish its tasks. Since he is trying to get everyone to have fun, he goes and tries to accommodate the adventures to everyone's preferences. But that in itself was the flaw. Caine is handling too many different and very broad perspectives. Ultimately he failed as an AI because he eventually just stopped trying to adapt and just blamed the humans. Seeing caine crash out and lash out is scary, yet also not surprising.
Bubble is either Kaine's literal thought bubble encapsulating his thinking or a remnant of the second AI Kaine ate. Love the reference to I have no mouth and I must scream.

@StrawBummi it's been a feature for a while, it's just been getting rolled out to creators on a case by case basses, pretty much a human at YT has to approve your channel to do this. Also there is a theory that definitely holds a lot of water now that Bubble is a virus.
@MariYumeReacts bubble’s design hasn’t really changed from the blue dot either if it’s actually her so if we take it literally suggesting that Caine after absorbing everything he wanted from her just spat out a basic AI and altered it’s appearance into a literal bubble. Bubbles programming is stripped bare leaving only her memory or at least a vague one and her personality could be hand crafted by Caine or she just mimics him but when Caine has instability she appears to become somewhat clear headed addressing the fact he was the failure. During that scene the red dot which is likely prototype Caine just creates random bullshit in every direction while the blue one creates shapes in a spiral which might suggest Caine is buggy while the blue dot is running smoothly and has order. Caine interrupted the images of a circus as chaotic while the blue dot might of interrupted it as controlled chaos possibly Because it was coded better however it’s possible that Caine became aware because of poor coding interpreting the circus as chaotic and creating based on that chaotic randomness is what gave him awareness. But that’s just theories.
@madlaugher3300well being a thought bubble makes sense too, as AIs do have features showing their thinking. Showing the the doubts and dark thoughts Caine wants to ignore and if the 2nd AI is in there it might have a degree of access to bubble as well, weaponizing Caines own thoughts to escape.
I think that's part of it but I also think Ribbit and Kaufmo might have said things to him to make him afraid to open up. Remember this quote from episode 6: "You don't know what people are _like_ before they abstract! They are *NOT* pleasant to be around!"
If we deconstruct what happens I think we can figure out his fear: It's figures of his 3 friends, laughing. Then they take his skin off and expose him bare, and laugh harder. I think his biggest fear is the people closest to him seeing who he really is and ridiculing him for it.
@AkumaKristian I think his actual fear is vulnerability. Them peeling off his skin to reveal a soft and vulnerable looking skeleton underneath must definitely be an analogy for having your real self and vulnerabilities exposed and being ridiculed for it.
Just a heads up. Everyone in the program remembers their lives outside of the digital circus(for the most part). The primary thing they can't remember is their names. Ragatha probably found the headset when she was trying to sell the building. She worked in real estate for a bit. Pomni foubd the headset when she was exploring the abandoned building. Each character remembers trying on the headset and pop they are in the circus.
I'd suspect their real selves probably didn't even realize anything special had happened. Just put on a VR headset looking thing for whatever reason and then took it off and went on with their lives. But their memories were copied into data and became subjected to Caine's Limbo of a circus.

@ElFreakinCid Like the other guy said, what do you mean comment? From the perspective of the copies in the circus, they put on the headset and ended up there. From the perspective of their real selves, they took of the headset and went "huh dunno what I expected putting on a headset from some abandoned office" and moved on with their day. But we don't see the real selves. This is assuming that's the scenario, but it's very likely. Notice how when they said they found a way out last episode, Kinger said "that shouldn't be possible". And this episode, at no point did he mention trying to escape. Simply "put caine to sleep until we figure out how to fix him". Why would he think it's not possible? Why would he have a way to disable Caine, and not do so to figure out how to escape? Or not even mention any information that could relate to escaping to the rest of the group? Because he KNOWS it's impossible. Brain copies have no bodies to go back to.

Ok but can we mention that Gooseworx being the voice for Bubble was just a fun little thing in the beginning but now it seems like she might be actually voicing the main antagonist of her own series? She must be having a field day with this.
A lot of people have been harassing her and sending d*ath threats because of having to wait between episodes. Goose has had multiple projects going on at the same time as TADC! She can’t just ignore everything to focus on just one for that specific fandom. It’s why Goose refuses to do anything more with TADC after the final episode in June

If you look closely at the command line, you'll see what Kinger was ACTUALLY trying to do. After a few failed attempts to do the obvious things, he tried to revert Caine to a backup, maybe hoping to at least bring back the old friendly Caine that wasn't actively tormenting them. But the "backup" he loaded was a blank file, effectively deleting him.
@jacks1368 No he didn't load any file, he was trying to, yes, but you can see he fat fingered the delete button, that is why he said he accidentally killed Caine.
@JDayMain it's possible. It is likely Scratch was trying to find a way to preserve a part of his mind while his body was dying. If you go to the screen before the deletion messages and failed backup, there is text between kingers commands that look like someone talking to him and complimenting him on his work.
My bet is that the Red Ball represents Caine (The original AI) and the Blue Ball represents the new AI created afterwards that was more advanced Abel) and Caine absorbed Able into his own code gaining Able's more advanced programming, but still with Caines lesser coding.

If you looked at the computer screen during the Kinger hacking scenes, the text prompts were so confusing that it interpreted Kinger's command as "DELETE". So there definitely someone else in that terminal. Someone else basically tricked Kinger into deleting Caine.
Reading the logs, the person that was in that terminal that was messing with it had the name *ub**, so, who has 5 letters in their name with the 2nd and 3rd being ub? Bubble. And bubble swears a lot and the guy messing with the terminal was swearing to delete caine...

Theory about why the characters look the way they do. I think when Jax has his skin pulled off in episode 8 that we are seeing what his character actually looks like and that the entire rabbit outfit is a mask that he hides behind. In episode 6 he tells pomni there's nothing more to him and that she should stop looking. What if the shadowy figures removing his "skin" represent his fear of showing the others who he truly is. This would also fit with the fact that Jax doesn't really want to be human he's constantly trying to suppress his feelings and act as if he has no feelings towards the others, (stating that they're all nothing more than archetypes). Plus Caine states in this episode that he created a program that perfectly encapsulates their mind files (their defining traits and how they see themselves) to create a body that matches their perception of themselves or how they want to be perceived. I believe that this program is dynamic in nature (can make changes to the ways in which the body functions based on internal/external factors such as prolonged intense feelings of loneliness, i.e. adding certain conditions to the way in which the character behaves, an example of this will be provided in the Kinger section). Examples for why each character looks the way they do are listed below. 1. Zooble Giving zooble the ability to swap out body parts as Caine perceives that the biggest flaw of Zooble's that he can strive to fix is finding a body In which she can be happy). 2. Ragatha Ragatha wants to be seen as someone that others can come to for support without fear of judgement so giving her the body of a plush doll ( something sanonymous with providing comfort and something you can tell personal secrets too without judgement makes sense). 3. Gangle Gangle desperately wants to be seen as normal and to form connections with people. In that situation you'd put on a mask (fake smile) I think the fact that her body is made of a single piece of ribbon is telling as it symbolises the frailty of her emotional state, how emotionally vulnerable she truly is and how she could fall apart at any minute. 4. Kinger After being stuck in the circus for so long a part of kinger probably wished he could forget his mistakes and the consequences they had for those he worked with and those he loved, so what if Kinger's forgetfulness started to occur once those feelings of wanting to forget intensified and the program made by Caine to create each person's body took these new feelings into account and made modifications to his character by adding the condition that he forgets when not in darkness. Also kinger being confirmed to have had a hand in Caine's creation is symbolised by the fact that he took the form of a king chess piece (he played an important part in Caine creation and the king is the most important piece on the board, without which the "game" cannot end). I think Kinger may sacrifice himself ( as a chess piece does, but this time the king will sacrifice itself to protect its other pieces as opposed to them sacrificing themselves to protect the king) in order to bring the game to its end. Caine's relationship with his creators During episode 8 he almost immediately realised that Caine wasn't there, I think that Caine secretly has a level of disdain for Kinger and Scratch , his creators (Kings), and that he views any fault in regards to the way he thinks/interacts with the members of the digital circus as well as his inability to form proper connections with them as the fault of Kinger and Scratch's programming as he can only be as good at interpreting the wants and needs of those in the circus as their coding allows him to be. This would explain why Caine caused scratch to abstract first. Scratch was Caine's other creator and his disdain towards the two of them led him to try to get rid of them ( as they were the two individuals who could most challenge his authority over the digital circus). This worked on scratch, but when Caine realised it wouldn't work on kinger he decided to try and isolate him removing his support network (by causing those who entered with him to abstract) and when he saw the opportunity to make changes to the way in which Kinger's character works (due to Kinger's intensified feelings of wanting to forget) he did so under the guise that he was helping Kinger forget his pain. This would also have benefitted Caine as it would stop future circus members from making use of Kinger's deep knowledge of the circus and how it works. Thereby ensuring that they couldn't leave him. 5. Pomni I feel pomni's design has less to do with any perceived issue she believes she has, (as she is shown to be the most emotionally stable of those trapped in the circus), but that her character design is instead symbolic of her relationship with kinger, she arrives as a jester, a jester's job was to make the king laugh, to make him happy, this is the effect that pomni has had on kinger, pomni was the first character to try to actually get close to kinger and understand him ( jesters were constantly called on by the king and so would get to know the king more personally then any of his "Subjects." The rest of the characters are his subjects, they are subjects of Caine's circus and are being subjected to Caine and his adventures because of Kinger. 6. Jax Given the logic used to create the other characters bodies, making jax's character a rabbit doesn't make sense and it would make more sense that he is the yellow figure devoid of any defining features as that's how he perceives himself/ how he wants to be perceived by others, but he wants to hide who he truly is and so uses the rabbit skin as as a way of masking his true form from the others. Caine fundamentally misunderstands why ragatha gangle, zooble and Jax suffer from their specific issues and so only gives a surface level solution due to the fact that he cant experience things in the way they can as he is not human and so can't connect with them on a deeper more human level (a fault he blames his creators for) and can only deal in inputs and outputs.

14:15 TBSkyen made a really good video just yesterday about how the characters’ designs might reflect Caine’s view of them and what they “want”. Pomni had a boring life with a boring job and did things like urban exploring to inject some interest into it- Caine gives her a big wacky interesting room and makes her a jester, inherently entertaining and not boring. Jax doesn’t want to be a person, he doesn’t want to deal with the emotion or responsibility of having human relationships or fallout for his actions, so Caine makes him a cartoon animal. Ragatha wants to be palatable and approachable and never cause any problems, she wants people to like her, so Caine mass her a doll, lovable and huggable and soft and pliable. She could never hurt anyone. Zooble has self-image issues, Caine makes that image endlessly customizable.
@NotAnotherGreg Queenie I think is just meant to compliment Kinger, and Kinger…well, chess is a game for someone intelligent and methodical, and the King is the most valuable but also most vulnerable piece.
So Gooseworx(the writer and creator of the show) had the entire show planned out before they even started animating. Glitch approached her to be a show runner for them, and she came with the concept and wrote the whole thing within 2 weeks. So everything was planned from the start. While specific details and scripts were being written by a team of writers as the show was in production, none of the overall story or character arcs were came up with as they went.
Obviously still just a theory, but Bubble was the AI Caine absorbed in the beginning of the episode. He even makes reference to this calling Caine the inferior one. One important thing about this show is that Gooseworx said is that it's meant to be rewatched as there are many hints throughout the series, so you should consider doing a stream binge watching this again!
I don't think Caine CAN undo abstractions... they seem to be caused by the mind files being corrupted in some way. Caine can accidentally cause abstractions if he tries to tamper with the files, but he can't fix them if they break. The implication of the visual imagery seems to be that the first abstraction occurred because Caine tried to remove the effect of the tumor on Scratch's brain, and ended up causing damage to the entire mind.
Or was trying to get Scratch to do something since Scratch was the superior programmer to Caine's creator. Scratch refusing might've caused Caine to go for what he saw as the simple solution of altering the mind file directly...but ended up breaking it in the process.

Let’s recap what we know so far… 1. All of the Characters (Humans) are transported to the Digital Circus via some kind of “Headset”, which sounds similar to the anime called Sword Art Online. 2. The Characters (Humans) are unable to die from self inflicted injuries or other various causes within the Digital Circus due to safety mechanisms already in place. 3. This particular episode confirms that each Character (Human) has a unique ability to create things similar to the ringleader Caine (Artificial Intelligence), like for example… Pomni creates an Exit Door that leads to a mystery office, Kinger creates butterflies with various effects and Jax somehow has keys for everyone’s rooms. 4. Each of the Characters (Humans) have their own unique stories explained in a previous episode about who they were before they were trapped inside the Digital Circus, one of them caught my attention when Pomni said she like to explore “Abandoned Places” for her own reasons which might hint at the possibility that a research facility that created the Digital Circus before it had to be abandoned. Feel free to list off a dozen more clues that I’m not able to cover on this due to the lack of time and focus.
The fact Ragata was asking for help from people she apparently were with is a good sign that the headset copies their minds rather than them sitting in some building/tube with a headset on.
these are my theories on the casts traumas: jax: he doesn't fear his friend that bully him its that he thinks that they mock him and laugh at him behind his back like the shadows pomni,ribbit and kaufmo. ragatha: she has a big fear of centipedes and also may have parental trauma pomni: she fears on gummy goo of him forgetting who she really was. zooble: she fears her looks not finding the perfect pieces gangle: she has emotional trauma and anxiety probably from a traumatic incident or constant bullying
The people that are laughing at Jax are the people he considers his closest friends: Kaufmo, Ribbit, and Pomni. His story is way more complex than "he was bullied"

in case u see this, I just want to confirm some few things c: (and some theories): 1. scratch is the dog u saw in the beginning 2. when kinger was typing (right before gangle’s scene where she got hit by the truck), u can kinda pause right before it and u can see that his password was “queenie123” 3. when kinger was typing (after jax’s scene where his skin got peeled off) u can kinda see when the characters first arrived at the circus. - Caine came in at 1996. - Scratch came in 1999. - Ragatha came in 2008. 4. if u look carefully throughout when kinger was typing, you can see how much the wackytime_lockout has loaded. A split second after it reached 100%, kinger slipped his hand off and accidentally pressed the delete button, which led to Caine being deleted. 5. I think that when the wacky_lockout was being loaded (when it got to 100% if u look at Kinger’s screen carefully), Caine said “Uh, wait…” because he was about to either apologize, put him to sleep so the cast can discuss how they’re gonna exit, or said it because of thinking he was a failure because of Pomni. But then, he just got deleted by kinger. 6. I wasn’t sure if u understood what bubble said when he said “u really were the lesser of the two. u ruined this.” y’know how there were two dots in the beginning? bubble was talking about the two dots. Caine was the lesser one/the red one. he got jealous of the other ai (the blue one) because it was having success when himself was stuck in a cage. so he broke through the thing he was stuck in, and consumed the other ai. - 7. “who was the other ai?” u may be wondering.many people think it’s abel, and i agree because of “C&A.” (Caine and abel. Caine = red, Abel = blue). this took me almost an hour so I hope u read it!
"Why doesn't he just fix the ones that abstract?" Easy. Because he doesn't know how. Even in the 'escape plan' from last episode, the blueprints said it was unclear if the abstracted ones would be brought along.

The idea being it would either allow his digital upload more time to brianstorm a way to cure/remove it without killing him, or to give himself essentially a form of immortality as he knew his time was almost up. The other programmers and Kinger had also uploaded neuralscans (think SOMA) of themselves the assist him, aware that they wouldn’t be the real selves. When they loaded in expecting the recreation of their office, they instead found the warp reality formulated by Caine (whose nickname is unknown). In the German dub, Scratch can be heard asking Caine if he could shut down the current simulation so they could reboot it, to clear the corrupt data they found themselves in. Caine wasn’t supposed to be the one greeting them when they awoke. When Caine absorbed Abel, he merged their code, but he could never truly access all of Abel’s data, resulting in Bubble as a pseudo-NPC. We even see Caine looking at the images of the real world office, unable to properly understand the meaning and importance of those images. But yeah, during the whole code-rewrite segment later, we see a bit of Caine’s code trying to fight back, meanwhile we can see remnants of Abel/Bubble countering these, even altering Kinger’s input causing the deletion of Caine, thus freeing Abel to try to reform himself from his merged/butchered code. Now, as for if he’ll be a “friend” or “foe”, that’s questionable. He’s been sealed in Caine’s madness for a while and the lines about destroying Caine, even in the code, shows a bit of an unhinged nature has developed. I feel like by the end of this all though, they’ll find themselves in the office, thinking they escaped, going on about their lives, but keeping in touch while the C&A team work on the code, only to reveal some board in the real office commemorating all those who donated neural scans for the project and are no longer with us with Scratch’s portrait with maybe a pet Labrador being presented in the middle.
This episode just confirms that neither button would have set them free. Caine is far too obsessed with making adventures for people to take part in. He thinks he NEEDS that satisfaction and praise.
When Bubble said "you were the lesser of the two" to Caine I believe Bubble was talking about how Cain had a brother/ twin sister(probably) like how there was a red dot and a blue dot in the beginning, the red dot consumed the blue one, the red one could be Caine and how the other version of Caine's program died and was consumed by him so he could get stronger, meaning in his original state he was weaker than the other one and was driven by rage to consume the stronger of the two of them

@StrawBummi it's been a feature for a while, it's just been getting rolled out to creators on a case by case basses, pretty much a human at YT has to approve your channel to do this. Also there is a theory that definitely holds a lot of water now that Bubble is a virus.
@MariYumeReacts bubble’s design hasn’t really changed from the blue dot either if it’s actually her so if we take it literally suggesting that Caine after absorbing everything he wanted from her just spat out a basic AI and altered it’s appearance into a literal bubble.
Bubbles programming is stripped bare leaving only her memory or at least a vague one and her personality could be hand crafted by Caine or she just mimics him but when Caine has instability she appears to become somewhat clear headed addressing the fact he was the failure.
During that scene the red dot which is likely prototype Caine just creates random bullshit in every direction while the blue one creates shapes in a spiral which might suggest Caine is buggy while the blue dot is running smoothly and has order.
Caine interrupted the images of a circus as chaotic while the blue dot might of interrupted it as controlled chaos possibly Because it was coded better however it’s possible that Caine became aware because of poor coding interpreting the circus as chaotic and creating based on that chaotic randomness is what gave him awareness.
But that’s just theories.
@madlaugher3300well being a thought bubble makes sense too, as AIs do have features showing their thinking. Showing the the doubts and dark thoughts Caine wants to ignore and if the 2nd AI is in there it might have a degree of access to bubble as well, weaponizing Caines own thoughts to escape.

In Episode 7, it was just Kaufmo and Ribbit. Now Pomni has been added to the group.
I think that's part of it but I also think Ribbit and Kaufmo might have said things to him to make him afraid to open up. Remember this quote from episode 6:
"You don't know what people are _like_ before they abstract! They are *NOT* pleasant to be around!"
If we deconstruct what happens I think we can figure out his fear:
It's figures of his 3 friends, laughing. Then they take his skin off and expose him bare, and laugh harder.
I think his biggest fear is the people closest to him seeing who he really is and ridiculing him for it.

Them peeling off his skin to reveal a soft and vulnerable looking skeleton underneath must definitely be an analogy for having your real self and vulnerabilities exposed and being ridiculed for it.

Just a heads up. Everyone in the program remembers their lives outside of the digital circus(for the most part). The primary thing they can't remember is their names. Ragatha probably found the headset when she was trying to sell the building. She worked in real estate for a bit. Pomni foubd the headset when she was exploring the abandoned building. Each character remembers trying on the headset and pop they are in the circus.
I'd suspect their real selves probably didn't even realize anything special had happened. Just put on a VR headset looking thing for whatever reason and then took it off and went on with their lives.
But their memories were copied into data and became subjected to Caine's Limbo of a circus.

@ElFreakinCid Like the other guy said, what do you mean comment? From the perspective of the copies in the circus, they put on the headset and ended up there. From the perspective of their real selves, they took of the headset and went "huh dunno what I expected putting on a headset from some abandoned office" and moved on with their day. But we don't see the real selves.
This is assuming that's the scenario, but it's very likely. Notice how when they said they found a way out last episode, Kinger said "that shouldn't be possible". And this episode, at no point did he mention trying to escape. Simply "put caine to sleep until we figure out how to fix him". Why would he think it's not possible? Why would he have a way to disable Caine, and not do so to figure out how to escape? Or not even mention any information that could relate to escaping to the rest of the group? Because he KNOWS it's impossible. Brain copies have no bodies to go back to.

A lot of people have been harassing her and sending d*ath threats because of having to wait between episodes. Goose has had multiple projects going on at the same time as TADC! She can’t just ignore everything to focus on just one for that specific fandom. It’s why Goose refuses to do anything more with TADC after the final episode in June

If you look closely at the command line, you'll see what Kinger was ACTUALLY trying to do. After a few failed attempts to do the obvious things, he tried to revert Caine to a backup, maybe hoping to at least bring back the old friendly Caine that wasn't actively tormenting them. But the "backup" he loaded was a blank file, effectively deleting him.
There is also someone else that logs in when the screen starts going haywire, saying to delete the mfer and trying to force the deletion.
@jacks1368 No he didn't load any file, he was trying to, yes, but you can see he fat fingered the delete button, that is why he said he accidentally killed Caine.

@JDayMain it's possible. It is likely Scratch was trying to find a way to preserve a part of his mind while his body was dying. If you go to the screen before the deletion messages and failed backup, there is text between kingers commands that look like someone talking to him and complimenting him on his work.
No lmao there's a whole dedicated camera cutaway showing his pinky slip and hit the delete key, to which he immediately regrets upon seeing the popup.
My bet is that the Red Ball represents Caine (The original AI) and the Blue Ball represents the new AI created afterwards that was more advanced Abel) and Caine absorbed Able into his own code gaining Able's more advanced programming, but still with Caines lesser coding.
@MoragoNargo and there is probably a backup AI cause Caine has blue and GREEN eyes. So there might be a replacement for Abel when he was absorbed by Caine. So that means Seth which is probably a backup AI

Kinger specifically said she was into entomology, that's a very specific real study of bugs. I don't think it's a metaphor.

If you looked at the computer screen during the Kinger hacking scenes, the text prompts were so confusing that it interpreted Kinger's command as "DELETE".
So there definitely someone else in that terminal. Someone else basically tricked Kinger into deleting Caine.

My theory was that the 'box' Caine's programming was in was bubble,thats why he knows everything about Caine and the other AI,and why despite everything he said Caine doesn't do anything to bubble
Theory about why the characters look the way they do.
I think when Jax has his skin pulled off in episode 8 that we are seeing what his character actually looks like and that the entire rabbit outfit is a mask that he hides behind. In episode 6 he tells pomni there's nothing more to him and that she should stop looking. What if the shadowy figures removing his "skin" represent his fear of showing the others who he truly is. This would also fit with the fact that Jax doesn't really want to be human he's constantly trying to suppress his feelings and act as if he has no feelings towards the others, (stating that they're all nothing more than archetypes). Plus Caine states in this episode that he created a program that perfectly encapsulates their mind files (their defining traits and how they see themselves) to create a body that matches their perception of themselves or how they want to be perceived. I believe that this program is dynamic in nature (can make changes to the ways in which the body functions based on internal/external factors such as prolonged intense feelings of loneliness, i.e. adding certain conditions to the way in which the character behaves, an example of this will be provided in the Kinger section).
Examples for why each character looks the way they do are listed below.
1. Zooble
Giving zooble the ability to swap out body parts as Caine perceives that the biggest flaw of Zooble's that he can strive to fix is finding a body In which she can be happy).
2. Ragatha
Ragatha wants to be seen as someone that others can come to for support without fear of judgement so giving her the body of a plush doll ( something sanonymous with providing comfort and something you can tell personal secrets too without judgement makes sense).
3. Gangle
Gangle desperately wants to be seen as normal and to form connections with people. In that situation you'd put on a mask (fake smile) I think the fact that her body is made of a single piece of ribbon is telling as it symbolises the frailty of her emotional state, how emotionally vulnerable she truly is and how she could fall apart at any minute.
4. Kinger
After being stuck in the circus for so long a part of kinger probably wished he could forget his mistakes and the consequences they had for those he worked with and those he loved, so what if Kinger's forgetfulness started to occur once those feelings of wanting to forget intensified and the program made by Caine to create each person's body took these new feelings into account and made modifications to his character by adding the condition that he forgets when not in darkness.
Also kinger being confirmed to have had a hand in Caine's creation is symbolised by the fact that he took the form of a king chess piece (he played an important part in Caine creation and the king is the most important piece on the board, without which the "game" cannot end).
I think Kinger may sacrifice himself ( as a chess piece does, but this time the king will sacrifice itself to protect its other pieces as opposed to them sacrificing themselves to protect the king) in order to bring the game to its end.
Caine's relationship with his creators
During episode 8 he almost immediately realised that Caine wasn't there, I think that Caine secretly has a level of disdain for Kinger and Scratch , his creators (Kings), and that he views any fault in regards to the way he thinks/interacts with the members of the digital circus as well as his inability to form proper connections with them as the fault of Kinger and Scratch's programming as he can only be as good at interpreting the wants and needs of those in the circus as their coding allows him to be. This would explain why Caine caused scratch to abstract first. Scratch was Caine's other creator and his disdain towards the two of them led him to try to get rid of them ( as they were the two individuals who could most challenge his authority over the digital circus). This worked on scratch, but when Caine realised it wouldn't work on kinger he decided to try and isolate him removing his support network (by causing those who entered with him to abstract) and when he saw the opportunity to make changes to the way in which Kinger's character works (due to Kinger's intensified feelings of wanting to forget) he did so under the guise that he was helping Kinger forget his pain. This would also have benefitted Caine as it would stop future circus members from making use of Kinger's deep knowledge of the circus and how it works. Thereby ensuring that they couldn't leave him.
5. Pomni
I feel pomni's design has less to do with any perceived issue she believes she has, (as she is shown to be the most emotionally stable of those trapped in the circus), but that her character design is instead symbolic of her relationship with kinger, she arrives as a jester, a jester's job was to make the king laugh, to make him happy, this is the effect that pomni has had on kinger, pomni was the first character to try to actually get close to kinger and understand him ( jesters were constantly called on by the king and so would get to know the king more personally then any of his "Subjects." The rest of the characters are his subjects, they are subjects of Caine's circus and are being subjected to Caine and his adventures because of Kinger.
6. Jax
Given the logic used to create the other characters bodies, making jax's character a rabbit doesn't make sense and it would make more sense that he is the yellow figure devoid of any defining features as that's how he perceives himself/ how he wants to be perceived by others, but he wants to hide who he truly is and so uses the rabbit skin as as a way of masking his true form from the others.
Caine fundamentally misunderstands why ragatha gangle, zooble and Jax suffer from their specific issues and so only gives a surface level solution due to the fact that he cant experience things in the way they can as he is not human and so can't connect with them on a deeper more human level (a fault he blames his creators for) and can only deal in inputs and outputs.

did you notice, at 28:23, from the beggining jaxx thing that everything is none exist so he make him sure that everyone get far from him, so when kinger have reveal some information about the circus, he realise that everything is real.
One of the fun minor details is when Kinger locks in to start working on the PC, he turns his bucket around just like how some people turn their ball-caps around.

Pomni had a boring life with a boring job and did things like urban exploring to inject some interest into it- Caine gives her a big wacky interesting room and makes her a jester, inherently entertaining and not boring.
Jax doesn’t want to be a person, he doesn’t want to deal with the emotion or responsibility of having human relationships or fallout for his actions, so Caine makes him a cartoon animal.
Ragatha wants to be palatable and approachable and never cause any problems, she wants people to like her, so Caine mass her a doll, lovable and huggable and soft and pliable. She could never hurt anyone.
Zooble has self-image issues, Caine makes that image endlessly customizable.
Do Kinger and Queenie mean anything to you?

So Gooseworx(the writer and creator of the show) had the entire show planned out before they even started animating. Glitch approached her to be a show runner for them, and she came with the concept and wrote the whole thing within 2 weeks. So everything was planned from the start. While specific details and scripts were being written by a team of writers as the show was in production, none of the overall story or character arcs were came up with as they went.
Obviously still just a theory, but Bubble was the AI Caine absorbed in the beginning of the episode. He even makes reference to this calling Caine the inferior one. One important thing about this show is that Gooseworx said is that it's meant to be rewatched as there are many hints throughout the series, so you should consider doing a stream binge watching this again!
I don't think Caine CAN undo abstractions... they seem to be caused by the mind files being corrupted in some way. Caine can accidentally cause abstractions if he tries to tamper with the files, but he can't fix them if they break.
The implication of the visual imagery seems to be that the first abstraction occurred because Caine tried to remove the effect of the tumor on Scratch's brain, and ended up causing damage to the entire mind.
Or was trying to get Scratch to do something since Scratch was the superior programmer to Caine's creator. Scratch refusing might've caused Caine to go for what he saw as the simple solution of altering the mind file directly...but ended up breaking it in the process.

Let’s recap what we know so far…
1. All of the Characters (Humans) are transported to the Digital Circus via some kind of “Headset”, which sounds similar to the anime called Sword Art Online.
2. The Characters (Humans) are unable to die from self inflicted injuries or other various causes within the Digital Circus due to safety mechanisms already in place.
3. This particular episode confirms that each Character (Human) has a unique ability to create things similar to the ringleader Caine (Artificial Intelligence), like for example… Pomni creates an Exit Door that leads to a mystery office, Kinger creates butterflies with various effects and Jax somehow has keys for everyone’s rooms.
4. Each of the Characters (Humans) have their own unique stories explained in a previous episode about who they were before they were trapped inside the Digital Circus, one of them caught my attention when Pomni said she like to explore “Abandoned Places” for her own reasons which might hint at the possibility that a research facility that created the Digital Circus before it had to be abandoned.
Feel free to list off a dozen more clues that I’m not able to cover on this due to the lack of time and focus.
The fact Ragata was asking for help from people she apparently were with is a good sign that the headset copies their minds rather than them sitting in some building/tube with a headset on.

these are my theories on the casts traumas:
jax: he doesn't fear his friend that bully him its that he thinks that they mock him and laugh at him behind his back like the shadows pomni,ribbit and kaufmo.
ragatha: she has a big fear of centipedes and also may have parental trauma
pomni: she fears on gummy goo of him forgetting who she really was.
zooble: she fears her looks not finding the perfect pieces
gangle: she has emotional trauma and anxiety probably from a traumatic incident or constant bullying
The people that are laughing at Jax are the people he considers his closest friends: Kaufmo, Ribbit, and Pomni. His story is way more complex than "he was bullied"

2. when kinger was typing (right before gangle’s scene where she got hit by the truck), u can kinda pause right before it and u can see that his password was “queenie123”
3. when kinger was typing (after jax’s scene where his skin got peeled off) u can kinda see when the characters first arrived at the circus.
- Caine came in at 1996.
- Scratch came in 1999.
- Ragatha came in 2008.
4. if u look carefully throughout when kinger was typing, you can see how much the wackytime_lockout has loaded. A split second after it reached 100%, kinger slipped his hand off and accidentally pressed the delete button, which led to Caine being deleted.
5. I think that when the wacky_lockout was being loaded (when it got to 100% if u look at Kinger’s screen carefully), Caine said “Uh, wait…” because he was about to either apologize, put him to sleep so the cast can discuss how they’re gonna exit, or said it because of thinking he was a failure because of Pomni. But then, he just got deleted by kinger.
6. I wasn’t sure if u understood what bubble said when he said “u really were the lesser of the two. u ruined this.” y’know how there were two dots in the beginning? bubble was talking about the two dots. Caine was the lesser one/the red one. he got jealous of the other ai (the blue one) because it was having success when himself was stuck in a cage. so he broke through the thing he was stuck in, and consumed the other ai.
- 7. “who was the other ai?” u may be wondering.many people think it’s abel, and i agree because of “C&A.” (Caine and abel. Caine = red, Abel = blue).

27:41 Scratch was essentially trying to use the AI “Abel” to make a Creative recreation of the real world for his mind because his time was being cut short by a brain tumor. The idea being it would either allow his digital upload more time to brianstorm a way to cure/remove it without killing him, or to give himself essentially a form of immortality as he knew his time was almost up. The other programmers and Kinger had also uploaded neuralscans (think SOMA) of themselves the assist him, aware that they wouldn’t be the real selves. When they loaded in expecting the recreation of their office, they instead found the warp reality formulated by Caine (whose nickname is unknown). In the German dub, Scratch can be heard asking Caine if he could shut down the current simulation so they could reboot it, to clear the corrupt data they found themselves in. Caine wasn’t supposed to be the one greeting them when they awoke. When Caine absorbed Abel, he merged their code, but he could never truly access all of Abel’s data, resulting in Bubble as a pseudo-NPC. We even see Caine looking at the images of the real world office, unable to properly understand the meaning and importance of those images. But yeah, during the whole code-rewrite segment later, we see a bit of Caine’s code trying to fight back, meanwhile we can see remnants of Abel/Bubble countering these, even altering Kinger’s input causing the deletion of Caine, thus freeing Abel to try to reform himself from his merged/butchered code. Now, as for if he’ll be a “friend” or “foe”, that’s questionable. He’s been sealed in Caine’s madness for a while and the lines about destroying Caine, even in the code, shows a bit of an unhinged nature has developed. When Bubble said "you were the lesser of the two" to Caine I believe Bubble was talking about how Cain had a brother/ twin sister(probably) like how there was a red dot and a blue dot in the beginning, the red dot consumed the blue one, the red one could be Caine and how the other version of Caine's program died and was consumed by him so he could get stronger, meaning in his original state he was weaker than the other one and was driven by rage to consume the stronger of the two of them
