Hi Jacky this is really helpful. Quick question, I am going to Paris first then Amsterdam. Should I do all my goods tax refund when leaving Amsterdam, last stop in EU? I will be buying stuffs in Paris that needs tax refund. Thank you.
@@Happiness_is_simple yes VAT refunds are made when you leave the EU. Both France and Amsterdam are in the EU; So you can buy things in Paris, get a VAT refund form, receipts from any eligible Paris shop that participates in vat refund. And can also buy things in Netherlands. And you can bring the goods, receipts, completed forms to Amsterdam airport for refund. I've bought things in Paris and went back home using Amsterdam airport and I was able to receive refund. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!
The tax refund agent at the airport will ask you for the completed VAT from(s), purchase receipts, and typically also ask for your passport and flight ticket information to confirm you are leaving the country. They also sometimes ask to see the physical goods, so you need to have the goods with you in case they ask. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!
So we’ve been through Spain and exiting Amsterdam tomorrow. The Spain store receipts each show “refund x Euros”. Does this mean we have been refunded already? Or is it just the amount that WILL be refined and I will have to do all the process you’ve kindly described in your video?
@@myrmidonmackenzie7182 I am not familiar with how Spain invoices look like as I've never been. Did you receive a monetary refund amount already? If not, then I assume you haven't been refunded yet and you can bring the invoices and refund paperwork to the Amsterdam airport; since Spain is an EU country you should be able to get refund as well. The agents will be able to determine if the purchases are eligible for refund. Thanks for watching!
It usually varies around 8-15%, depending on the store/purchase. Note that this is subject to change based on government rules/regulations. Thanks for watching!
Thank you Jackie, I'm doing this in October 😊

Thank you Jackie ✨️ I have a question; do they ask for our documents regarding leaving the country when approving the invoices?
